(OOC: We'll say the ceiling is 20 feet high, so it can comfortably fits the statue and the slug.)
Being the first to get a glimpse of the creature above, Yulmiath does not hesitate in quickly launching a javelin at it. At the last second, Karius interjects with a request for restraint, causing Yulmiath to then doubt his choice and affecting his follow-though. The projectile hits the statue instead of the giant slug.
After trying to speak to the creature, Kairus gets no response, although he does get an inkling...
Mrs. Thinn quickly picks up on what is happening but prioritizes defensive maneuvers for now. Hun, Rhogal, and Krodhen need a few extra seconds to understand what is going on and spot the source of danger. Soon, however, there is no doubt. The ceiling slug's head tentacles begin to sway rapidly and a floating copy of the statue of Umberlee the group recently saw in the southern end of the temple appears next to Kairus. It swings at the bard as if it were a weapon.
-> [Tooltip Not Found] vs. Kairus: Attack: 8 Damage: 2
The creature then slides 10ft down the far wall (now 10ft off the ground) and attacks Yulmiath with its many tentacles:
The swinging "statue" is wielded clumsily, completely missing its mark. The tentacles are more accurate, and the slime left behind poisonsYulmiath to the extent of forcing the dragonborn to temporarily lose control of his own muscles. (Yulmiath takes 4 poison damage.)

"What's this about a peaceful, toothy -- What in Gond's name is that!?" Hun asked as he looked up and nearly falls back on his tail in surprise. "Uh... Uh! Frick! Mrs. Thinn! Don't just stand there. Get in there and bop it good! And protect Mr. Yully too."The kobold barked while awkwardly scrambling put his goggles back on with one hand, so he break out the spear and fling at it the legendary omgar bullworm! And if he couldn't hit it, surely Mrs. Thinn could catch with a haymaker as she rushed past it.
The poison is still making its way through Yulmiath's veins. The dragonborn remains out of commission for now.
If the barbarian is not going to act, then the druid might as well. Despite his words containing some venom, Rhogal's actual attack is performed with a tossed mushroom cap. To the dwarf's dismay, the resulting burst of colorful spores clings to the wall, the floor, and part of the humongous tentacled statue, but not the slug.
Unaware the he could been having an easier time attacking this new foe, Krodhen swoops in and swings his flail just the same. A gooey brown liquid, passing for the creature's blood, is what bursts our of the wound left by the half-orc. (Giant Slug takes 6 magical bludgeoning damage.)
The slug reacts by moving just one of its head tentacles abruptly. It looks like it is trying to hit Krodhen with it, but the tentacle swings in a westward direction (the paladin is south of the creature). A moment later, the reason for it becomes apparent: one of the large statue's rock tentacles comes to life and attempts to whack Krodhen on behalf of the slimy slug's head tentacle. This move comes as a complete surprise to the flying paladin of Tyr:
Krodhen does not see it coming, but that is why he has armor on. The stony swing does not best the paladin's metal enclosure.
Still thinking about the brief, one-sided interaction he had with the slug, Kairus comes to a partial conclusion (Luck Point used to beat a DC of 15.)
@Kairus:
You got a glint of understanding when sharing words with the creature. It seemeded to react to both your Common and Aquan words but it looked like it was unable to respond. You felt pain, resentment, and vengeance in those eyes. You also recognize the vestigial physical attributes of a female form in this creature.
The shadows cast by the large statue in the cave begin to move more frantically, despite there being no change in the lighting within this cave.

Kairus made a mental note to himself, that it was time to return to civilization and find a normal woman, to stop seeing women's bodies where they were not supposed to be. Kairus's knee-jerk reaction to noticing a few extra details about the monster on the wall is to cast insults toward it. The maneuver works, not only invading the creature's thoughts but also forcing it straight up the wall. (Giant Slug takes 8 psychic damage.)
-> The enemy is still at {JZ-97,KA-98} but now back up to 20ft from the ground instead of just 10ft.
Now that the battle is well underway, Hun finally realizes what is going on. The kobold interrupts his ritual and takes a few steps toward the enemy and launches his pointy projectile at it. Before returning to its master, the weapon draws more of that brown-blood from the creature. (Giant Slug takes 10 piercing damage.)
Ordered to "get in there," Mrs. Thinnrushes in and begins scaling the wall, eventually reaching an altitude of 15ft or so (she is within melee range of the creature, at {JY-98}.) Despite the construct's approach, it seems the slug has a bone to pick with Kairus for now. Staying at its current spot, the slimy being somehow produces a ray with a beautiful aquamarine tone form its nasty green and brown mouth.

Not expecting such a beautiful act from the creature, Kairus' fails to duck in time and is hit square in the chest with the ray. Its aquamarine color lingers on the triton for a bit, making its easier for the still-floating "Umberlee statue" to swing at the bard. (Kairus takes 14 radiant damage.)
Kairus reacts just in time, disturbing the creature's spell with some additional nasty rods (Cutting Words -> Original attack roll drops to a 11; reference.)
