Krodhen is not one to kill in cold blood "Bah, the bird was stupid to mess with us, perhaps a lesson will be learnt and other travellers will be safer. Leave it be, I say"
As Yul takes possession of the pouch and is obviously trying to conceal it as he picks it up, Krodhen will ask "Sounded like coins in that pouch, what's the share?"

"You know what - let's split it now! And make the bird see. We shall know if the lesson is truly learned."Kairus said it now again with his usual carefree smile - gold was good, sure, his stock of bolt, for example, definitely felt it, but it was nothing compared to a little teasing and a test. If the remaining bird could overcome its greed in full view of coins divided between people, it probably was not completely lost.
Yul opens the pouch and deals out the shares. Gold is easily enough distributed, the silver takes longer and becomes a more involved process whereby everyone is left owing someone else in the group some amount of silver. It's like the worst splitting of a food bill after a shared meal at a restaurant you've ever seen.
Hun either makes things easier or worse on Yul by frankly waving off the offer. "You can keep my share, Mr. Yully. Consider it, uh, partial repayment for looking after me over the years."He offers with a bit of a smirk. "But unless we're scaring the last one off for good, and commandeering this place, I'd suggest we get moving now and find another spot for at least a brief reprieve. Those things Young Blue found were... rather interesting, if'n I were to be honest. I'd like a little time to study them anyhow."He admits.

Kairus watched Yulmiath's manipulations with growing interest and ended up laughing. "Knew a guy like that that was running shell game. Lost him a couple of coins before learning what's the trick. We might try it sometimes."He picked his three gold coins and what was left of silver (trying to choose the shiniest coins), then tossed them one by one to the air, caught, letting the metal make a pleasant clinging sound. Then no less theatrically put them all into the small pouch on the belt finally looking at the hut with the bird inside and winking at it. He was still curious how the bird would react but was ready to go.
Neither Krodhen nor Yulmiath seem very keen on pestering the Eblis further now that it has paid its ransom. Speaking of which, the half-orc and the barbarian, with some input from Kairus, make sure that the spoils are shared among the group. Hun forfeits his portion. Rhogal continues to be distracted by the deep blue mushrooms he found.
Still hidden within its hut, the remaining Eblis does not react to the splitting of spoils.
The group then discusses whether to continue traveling from here or take a quick breather to allow the group's artificer to look into the non-pecuniary spoils. They begin to walk away from the Eblis' "hamlet" in a walk-and-talk fashion.
(OOC: If you decide to take a short rest, you are free to roll Hit Dice and perception checks if setting up a watch. Please describe what your character is doing during the rest.)
Kairus chuckled at the bird's quietness and clapped his hands. "Well, looks like we are done here. All lessons learned, spoils divided and we have a - potentially - dangerous ship-wreck investigation ahead of us. Speaking of which, a small break for a roasted... um... I mean for a lunch?" Maybe back where we met our new friend?" He slightly pointed with his thumb at the hut.
Having been paid and then some, Yulmiath wonders whether continuing to rub the last remaining bird's beak in their victory isn't storing up some kind of future trouble.
"Have we not poked that bear enough? If we're going to have lunch, should we not do it someplace else?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Sounds good to me. Like I said, I could use some time to study those other items while we're at it." He affirms, and hoping with that, that the group would continue bustling on their way back awaiting them. At which point he needed not check his card again before happily beginning the process that would assure any bird cooked would be properly purified and even seasoned(ritual) over the short rest.
Then, his focus is back on the items Kairus found, placing greater priority on any that -- following some small adjustments to his bag so that the arm acted more as a dousing instrument(ritual) -- ping as enchanted in some way, even if only residual so. And if none did, then it is the map he studies over the remaining short rest, intending more to take note of particular points of interest should they find out what it is in reference to in later journeys. The others... if time permitted, some attention is given the orb as well.

All the time while the temporary camp was set up and food was cooked, Kairus spent playing a melody, that sounded relaxing if a touch sad. The excitement of the battle, the chase, the dealing with the defeated enemy - all of this was ... not washed away, but got a new meaning, a clear definition of a victory, giving the rest to both body and soul.
(OOC: there is no tooltip for class features (or I can not find one) so Song of Rest: If you or any friendly creatures who can hear your performance regain hit points at the end of the short rest by spending one or more Hit Dice, each of those creatures regains an extra 1d6 hit points.)
(OOC: They are incredibly large birds, so I am assuming you are cooking only one of them.)
Deciding they've had enough, the party walks back to where they left four crane-like carcasses behind and begin to set up a temporary camp. As is becoming tradition, Rhogal takes up cooking duties after Hun spends some time purifying one of the birds. That's probably a smart step to take, given recent disagreements between gut and source of nutrition.
While the bird (and mushrooms?) cook and the others set up resting areas and keep watch, Kairus plays an ambient song and Hunexplores the magical contents of the items they found.. The kobold's strange device seems to react both to the smoky orb and the caged metallic canary. Spending the time to study those two in more detail, Hun eventually deduces that the orb is nothing but a trinket lightly enchanted to amuse. The smoke inside the glass sphere swirls pointlessly, although children could surely derive hours of entertainment from such gadget. The lantern with the mechanical canary is of obvious gnomish make. It's most likely purpose is to detect toxic gases within a mine without having to expose an actual bird to danger or even death.
As for the map, the surviving piece could really be displaying any structure. The architecture is grandiose such that it likely displays a small portion of a temple or castle. Hun sees the designs for a room and a half. The full room is designed as a sleeping chamber, though there is a mark indicating caution placed over the double doors leading inside. The other room, the one that is only partially visible, is marked as a tiled washroom which includes a stone bathtub-like basin in its center. There is no telling how large the original map may have been. This piece of parchment is clearly just a fraction of the original map encased in the tube. It is also quite discolored, an indication of its age.
(OOC: Is anyone else rolling Hit Dice other than Hun? If so, each of you can roll your own extra d6 for Song of Rest.)
Yulmiath sits by the fire, listening to Karius' playing and Hun busily investigating the found objects. The smell of roasted Eblis drifts on the air and between the sounds of relaxing and intense study, he almost feels as though he's part of a crew again...

Krodhen's timing could not be more perfect. For funnily enough, Hun growled and hefted cage but a moment later, looking just about ready to chuck it in outrage. "What?!" He turned sharply to Krodhen, glaring for a moment, before seeming to come back to his senses. With a sigh, he lowered the cage, but would continue to glare at it. "... Sorry. Just realized this was a gnomish contraption, and a typically shoddy one too." He huffed, and sets the cage down fully.

Yulmiath pats a hand against the pouch, setting the coins inside to jingle again.
"If I had to do the splitting and assuming equal shares, I'd say three and change for each of us."
Looking around to get his bearings once again, the dragonborn will look to the rest of the group.
