Hun mentally cursed as his efforts proved for not. Yet seeing Yulmiath manage to free himself all the same brought a grin back to his face. He turns on the creature, and though none could see his eyes past the goggles, the feeling of being glared at would persist all the same. In fact strangely enough, whatever alien (to Hun's own) mind the creature possessed would start to register more from the Kobold no matter how hard it tried to keep its focus on the others.
It... It took decades upon decades, but Hun had learned a truth few Kobold ever awaken to in their so easily cut short life spans. No longer had he need to rely on cowering and groveling and praying for a miracle to instinctively produce the pheromones and latent magical presence of true dragons to disrupt his foes! But with concentration, a flexing of the right muscles that would leave him in a slight odd pose, and connecting to the magic within, his very presence would become so unnerving and intense to the creature as to confuse or make it second guess its every action.
And then there was the music! Or was there music? And why did the white kobold seem a bit... more filled out somehow?! The creature at least couldn't be certain. To everyone else, there were plenty of gaps to exploit in its defenses now at least while Hun stared intently at it.
Action: Activate Unnerving Presence(reflavored Grovel, Cower, and Beg)! Until the end of Hun's next turn, everyone has advantage on attack rolls against enemies within 10ft that can see Hun.

Getting a little annoyed at his continued failures, Rhogal makes his way to where the action is happening (to BK-45). As soon as he reaches that part of the ship, he tries again.
(@Drache: Here's an advantage roll for Rhogal's spell attack following Hun's trick: 14.)
By actively manipulating the muscles surrounding a vestigial gland in his body, Hun secretes dragon-ish pheromones into the water. The chemicals are not abundant, but are fast-acting. The nearby decapus can't help but dedicate all of its attention to Hun for the time being, even if at the cost of lowering its own defenses.
Even at a distance, Rhogal is the first one to notice the enemy's sudden drop in awareness. The dwarf jumps into the water and, while still swimming on the surface, sends another batch of necrotic spores toward the tentacle monster. Before even confirming that the spores took hold this time, the druid empowers his staff in preparation for melee combat. (Decapus takes 2 necrotic damage.)
(@MB: With that crit, Yulmiath won't need a second roll to account for the gifted advantage.)
Taking advantage of both his magically-provided swimming prowess and the distraction caused by Hun, Yulmiath delivers a fulminating blow with his axe. The strike is accurate and powerful enough to cleave one of the creature's tentacles cleanly off. (Decapus takes 16 slashing damage.)
(Krodhen is up next and he has advantage on attacks against the enemy. I'll resolve Kairus' turn after that.)
Watching his previously strike sink home and javelin still in hand, Krodhen wastes no time taking another strike, stabbing directly at the creature from where he is.
Watching his previously strike sink home and javelin still in hand, Krodhen wastes no time taking another strike, stabbing directly at the creature from where he is.
While the creature is distracted, Krodhen yanks back his javelin only to thrust it forward again a second later. Another puncture wound appears in one of the decapus' tentacles. (Decapus takes 9 piercing damage.)
Kairus tries to refocus some of the creature's attention onto himself, but his next crossbow bolt sticks to the side of the wreck instead of the decapus itself.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The creature is now wriggling its tentacles more wildly. Eight of them are free to engage in defensive efforts, but the creature's focus is still pinpointed on a single individual. Hun sees the tentacles advance his way.
Expecting the attack, the kobold shrinks his frame as much as he can, making sure his multi-purpose shield is hiding most of his body. The tactic works, and although Hun can feel the tentacles all about him, none of them hit hard enough to actually hurt him.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Though nearly propelled back by the force of the last attack alone, Hun held some ground and took advantage of waning movement in the tentacles to risk pulling the lever on his shield, releasing its payload and more. For if it appeared to take effect, what magic bound itself in Kairus inspiring words before are released as the Kobold thrust his hand towards the fast forming frost.
Action: Cast (Cantrip)Frostfire Bomb at Decapus, inflicting 6 Cold Damage on a failed Con Save(DC 14). (Spending Bardic Inspiration if Save is failed to add to the damage. Already added to the roll)

Feeling inspired and invigorated by Kairus, Krodhen pushes in closer still to the monster and thrusts ahead eagerly, sensing that they are close to dispatching it.
and instantly berates himself for losing concentration on his attacks and engaging in banter, seeing the javelin miss all of the writhing tentacles this time.
Using the same shield that protected him from harm a second ago, Hun launches an underwater cold vial at the greenish center mass in front of him. Unfortunately, this particular launch is quite underwhelming. The vial loses all of its momentum before reaching the creature and simply sinks.
Now with some footing below him again, Rhogal wades through the water to shorten the distance between him and his target {BH-46}. The angle of approach and the direction from which the creature is squeezing out of the hole as just misaligned enough to provide it with some additional cover from Rhogal's attack. The spores hit only wood.
Yulmiath and Krodhen continue attacking the creature as well. Their efforts are quite synchronized by now, giving off a satisfying one-two sort of rhythm. Unfortunately for them, one's miss is enough to distract the other's attack. Both the slashing and the piercing blows cut/puncture only water this time.
Kairus saves the group with an accurate crossbow bolt. (Decapus takes 10 piercing damage.)
Whether he realizes it or not, the bard then pokes fun at the half-orc's recent miss, which inspires him to do better next time (Bardic Inspiration).
This time, his shield is not even needed. Hun is pushed and pulled in place here and there but it is clear the creature has exhausted much of its energy by now. Its attacks are simply not hitting as hard.

Hun seems dazed for a moment after being pulled around, but recovered fairly quick enough once the creature tired of 'playing' with his food. Even so, a token effort after is put forth to further ward and batter the tentacles all the further away. Then, just as soon as he had a moment to proverbially breath, the lever on his shield is given another crank to launch its payload and put a smile on the Kobold's face should the creature fail to avoid it.
