"You are asking a sailor!" "Pff-ed" Kairus. "Don't worry your non existing tail, we can do it!"
Should others agree to the plan, he will begin preparations to ascending.
Depending on the height of the mountain - either Fly alone or a combination of Levitate and Fly. The goal is to get pitons in the wall and transport a rope (or several bound together ropes?) to the top and fix it there.
Though largely occupied keeping an eye out for threats from the back of Mr. Thicc, Hun couldn't help scoffing at the banter between Kairus and Yulmiath. "Don't worry Mr. Yully! I got plenty of tail for both of us."He assured, lashing his own somewhat whip-like appendage about behind him. "But keep your eyes peeled and hands close to the mountain in case of any surprise trembles. As Rhogal and maybe Krodhen here can testify, you don't wanna get caught up in a rockslide. Especially of the burning variety given all the volcanoes around here." Hun warns and Mr. Thicc nods solemnly in agreement.

Eeyal listens to the back and forth among the group, sharing her opinion when practical: "Well, If you can fly straight up for 10 minutes, rushing as you go, you may just be able to find the summit. If you are stopping to set anchors for us, you may have to grab the rope yourself before your spell is up." She looks around and begins counting the number of rope coils each party member is carrying. She nods enthusiastically when she notices Yulmiath carries three of them himself: "A well-prepared sailor, this one. Between all of us, we have upwards of 400 feet of rope. We'll need to loop some of it around ourselves for safety and leave some of it slack for mobility, so lets' say we have 300ft to play with. That's our real constraint, not how far or fast Kairus can fly up. The lead climbers will have to climb 300ft per go, setting anchors on the way, then pause to let the following climbers catch up. Once we are all bunched together, most of the length of rope will be freed up for another 300ft climb by the leader, and so on. If Kairus is setting the anchors as he flies up, the process is sped up and all others have an easier climb ahead of them as followers. It is worth a try."
Kairus seems to agree and prepare to use one, if not two, of his gravity-defying spell. Born in the ocean, enamored with the land, the triton and now soars to conquer the skies (with Eeyal's extra climber's kit in hand.)
Eeyal adds: "Someone strong should be the first to climb. I'll go last so I can retrieve the pitons as I go." She than looks at Rhogal: "If you plan on boosting your strength with magic, perhaps you should go first."
(OOC: Setting the anchors requires nothing but an action. Moving up the wall via spell/scroll/potion won't require a check. The same applies if you have a climbing speed. Conversely, everyone climbing up the wall the old-fashioned way will need to roll an athletics check. All the gear, precautions, and anchor setup will prevent you from falling to your deaths.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Bringing up the rear as always, Krodhen helps the other prepare as best they can, offering his rope, checking knots before ultimately volunteering to be the first climber "It's either me or Yul, I guess, and any magics from Rhogal to boot, I reckon I'd be the better climber though, plenty of rigging work in the past"
Athletics check: 20 (perhaps not so much in the way of rock climber though)
"If you want to be next to follow Blue up, feel free. I'll follow you up, so we'll be tethered. I won't let you fall."
Giving Krodhen a firm pat on the shoulder, the dragonborn falls into a matter of fact discussion about the route, spacing for pitons and likely handholds, hoping that it might make the half-orc's path a little easier.
(OOC Hopefully, their chat helps Krodhen with his climb. As for Yul's - athletics - 25.)
(If I got it right, pitons on the way would provide "help" (advantage) to everyone climbing. Let's go with it. Kairus will be careful and mind the timers)
"Well, 400ft-ish. Gonna need a little extra to strap myself to Mr. Thicc so he can do all the heavy lifting. And I didn't expect to do any climbing today, so, uh... yea, it's uh... it's uh very important we don't all go tumbling. Just so everyone's clear. Now if come tomorrow we have to do some climbing again I'll be more ready." Hun assures as much.
Then with that said, Hun more than happily lets Krodhen or whoever assist in getting him nice and strapped onto Mr. Thicc. As for any further discussions on routes and so forth, the Kobold listened intently, but otherwise seemed content to let everyone else hash out the details before the group begins the ascent. Which throughout much of which, Hun did his level best to provide ongoing support from his creations in a few tightly made maintenace and induction of power every minute or so using what few spare tools hadn't made their way into the bag of holding to further lessen his weight.
The duo were to be the second to last to ascend or close to that either which way. In this way Hun would assure in a worst case scenario, Mr. Thicc might act as a makeshift piton should those above fall... in theory. No real promises there, but he'd say it all the same to keep folk level headed.

Kairuslaunches himself upward after most of the party's rope is knotted together and other preparations are complete. Using one of Eeyal's climber's kit, the bard sets anchors and a guiding rope for the rest of the group as he moves upward. Krodhen then volunteers to lead the rest of the Snackers up the path laid out by the trtion. Yulmiath follows closely behind, giving the half-orc a few pointers as they go.
Rhogal is next in the formation, his muscles magically engorged. Mr. Thicc carries Hun up the rope while the kobold periodically performs magical maintenance on the automaton so that none of its systems fail during the arduous task. Eventually, even Kairus grabs a hold of the rope as he feels his spell coming to an end.
A good chunk of time is spent on this upward trek, and all but Mr. Thicc are sweating and tired for most of it. Climbing takes everyone's utmost attention, so keeping an eye out for any other stimuli in the environment becomes of secondary importance. Nonetheless, the party eventually arrives at a rocky shelf that can be traversed to reach the opposing side of the mountain. Before they can begin the downward half of the trip, the Snackers judge it appropriate to gather their strength.
The moment of respite is not enjoyed for long. You can feel a deep rumbling in the ground, building up gradually at first and then more abruptly. Eeyal looks worried as she directs your attention to the volcano immediately to the party's south. An explosion of orange tendrils is birthed from it, accompanied by a growing cloud of ashes. "Oh no..." the tortle lets out."We better get moving or we'll lose all visibility on our way down."
(OOC: Everyone rolled quite well so the upward climb turned out to be quite straightforward. That said, I do have a question: What did you do with the canoe?)
"Well that's great! Stupid active volcanoes and their stupid need to be active."Hun groused as he quickly went about resecurring what little had been nearly undone for respite and giving Mr. Thicc marching orders to follow Eeyal's lead. "No time for dawdling people. If you thought the climb up was hard, we certainly don't want to do it blind and coughing up our lungs. Eeyal or Mr. Yully! Either of you may want to take point on this one to keep us on a good path down."He requests as well.
(OOC: I presume we'll need another series of athletics checks? If so, here's Mr. Thicc/Hun's below along with guidance-o)
Yulmiath jumps to it. Gathering the pitons from their ascent from Eeyal, he checks his own climber's kit then reattaches himself to the line. With a grin, he tries to reassure the other Snack Packers.
"I'll pick out a nice, quick route. We'll be down on the otherside of this before you know it."
Turning back towards the cliff, he quickly downs the potion of climbing. Notes of dirt, a metallic aftertaste and it's weirdly lumpy. He does feel more ready for this climb though.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(OOC: This post is partially based on a clarifying post I made in the OOC Chat. Please refer to it.)
With the nearby volcano erupting, Hun rushes everyone onto the other side of the stone shelf and the downward climb begins in a hurry. Yulmiath goes down first after downing his potion of climbing. Kairus departs soon after, now levitating and using the rocky wall to guide himself downward. Both the bard and the barbarian have climbing kits with them, so they are able to set footholds and anchors for the rest of the group.
Rhogal follows the pair, taking advantage of his still engorged muscles.Mr. Thicc is a few paces behind, still getting some real-time maintenance from a caged Hun. Despite the construct's grip being firm by design, he still manages to miss a few handholds on the way down, giving Hun more than a few scares. That is still not quite as bad as Krodhen, who has a hard time with the rushed climb and loses his footing several times. Thankfully, the guiding rope is well anchored by the lead climbers and the paladin repeatedly avoids falling down to his death. The half-orc will have little to deal with apart from wounds to his pride and a few rope burns (Krodhen takes 6 slashing damage.)
Eeyal brings up the rear once again, feeling responsible for collecting pitons and rope on her way down. She sees to perform optimally under pressure, not only doing her job excellently but also spotting those who are having some difficulty. Try as she might, though, she cannot speed up the group in such a way that they completely avoid the approaching cloud of ash. The last third of the climb is done under low visibility, and the guide has to leave behind some of her gear (Eeyal loses the equivalent of one full climber's kit; good thing she had a spare.)
Eventually, the party makes it down to safe ground. Coughing and having some difficulty to see, they must now decide what to do next. The next cave is not too far away judging by what Eeyal had said, but looking for it while inside a cloud of ash might be a lost cause. The Snackers also figure that prolonged exposure to such awful conditions may take a tool on their health.

While climbing and flying, the group could see at least the direction of that other cave. And once on the solid ground, Kairus tried to estimate the thickness of the ash cloud.
Gust of Wind That one did not even need singing, just a soft whistle summoning the wind. He kept it going on to determine where to go and urged everyone to move in the right direction and out of the cloud.
(OOC: Mr. Thicc doesn't need to breathe and is immune to the poisoned and exhaustion condition(assuming that would be what's applied on a failed con save anyhow))
"On both accounts I would have to agree, Mr. Yully." Hun replied, though with a voice muffled and somewhat distorted between coughs and trying to cover his mouth as much as possible. He then barks out a command in draconic for Mr. Thicc to follow the others, as the kobold dared not de-couple himself from the back of his companion, least some accident lead him suddenly astray from the rest.
"If we can get to an overhang of some sort to hunker under all the better."He said or call out if necessary to be overheard above the rush of Kairus more innate magic at work. Then once everyone is in motion, he'd call upon the power of his amulet and open his mind to sensing the presence of thinking of creatures for at least over the next minute of their journey. In this way a warning could and would be called out if they were not alone.
