"Did you hear that Edryd, you already have new member of your congregation." Wolfe chuckles, while politely nodding at Mau.
Wolfe invites the others to join their game, aiming primarily to impress his new associates this evening. He tries to avoid winning any money from Rabbit and Mau but has no compunction about relieving the other 6 of their last copper piece.
Playing cards check using lucky feat: 20 (assuming this is a cha check with proficience bonus for the tool profieciency.)
Wolfe stops at 3 drinks this particular night, having a big day tomorrow. When Rabbit seems ready for bed Wolfe graciously escorts her to her room, possibly returning for another game after that.
Edryd has his hand halfway to his mouth when Mau asks his question. He immediately stops and runs his wet, dirty hand through hair to dry it off. He looks over the tabaxi with a very slight smile. "I will tell you all wish to know of Our Lady of Silver and her faithful, I met her once you know." He smiles a more broadly and begins speaking with a stronger, confident voice. "Her followers can be found in all walks of life and corners of the world, for her glory is as omnipresent as the moonlight on a clear autumn night. The faithful can be found in the adventurer seeking guidance on their quest, the farmer looking to the stars for a harvest, the sailor guiding their ship to port and the mother praying to be blessed with child. She watches over all of us as the moon herself, her tears providing light and comfort in the darkness. If you open your heart to her you shall have nothing to fear in even the darkest night." He closes his eyes and concludes, "Learn her words as your first step in your journey of faith:
Let all on whom my light falls be welcome if they desire to be so. As the silver moon waxes and wanes, so too does all life. Trust in my radiance, and know that all love alive under my light shall know my blessing. Turn to the moon, and I will be your true guide."
With that Edyrd sits back in his chair, places his hand back in his glass and starts looking nervously around the room once more.

"Yes, yes, thank you for that sermon father, just don't scare away these fine people donating to our cause." Wolfe comments with growng irritation as Edryd is quite finished with his preaching. "So did you by any chance take a vow not to ever take care of personal hygiene?" He asks the cleric, not really expecting an answer to that.
Rabbit smiles as Wolfe indicates they each get a private room. "Well! More wine for me then!" she says as she requests her glass be refilled. She would even have a third if there is any left from the bottle, but is careful not to push her limits tonight.
She is willing to play cards with Wolfe and Mau, or even any others if someone else invites them. For money even, though she is not likely to spend much more than 1 gp total - so it would need to be low stakes. She is certainly not inexperienced playing cards, but more uses her Deception to get an edge. She is not above a bit of Sleight of Hand to help, but would not risk it in this case. (Deception check, if that is needed for the card playing: 18).
Once done playing cards she would head off for her room. After a quick change of clothing, she waits until she was certain she no longer heard any noises,. The she would slip out and leave the inn. She suspects Wolfe would not have let her go off alone otherwise. (Stealth check: 8, if needed) She quickly makes for the fringes of Neverwinter and the old ruined building where she has long hung out. Making her way up to the third floor, she curls up in the ruined place to sleep.
Well before dawn she is back up again, to make her way back to the Driftwood Tavern and Inn. She hopes to arrive before others might be about.
Everyone would notice the same young woman this morning. However, she is now dressed all in black. A long hooded cloak is the most obvious component. Beneath is a tight-fitting long-sleeved blouse, which would clearly show off her chest, except for being hidden by the cloak. The outfit includes pants, belt and soft ankle-high boots. It is still not great fashion, but looks a touch less worn than her dress the previous night.
The game you play is called 3 High. Here are the rules of the game:
- everyone antes in, let's say maximum 5 gp (unless anyone wants differently). - roll a d20 - this is secret so PM your roll. - everyone gets a round to bet again. You can check, bet, call or fold. - next, roll a secret d12 - again, PM me the result. Repeat calls and folds, etc... - finally, everyone rolls another secret d6. Final round of betting before reveal.
* 38 is the highest you can get (20+12+6). * a 3 is the lowest amount you can roll and will beat everything else. * after the above, the highest number wins.
@Wolfe, you are proficient, so you can add your proficiency to any skill check. You don't add anything to dice rolls. I am not certain what your "playing cards check" is. What are you trying to determine?
You can absolutely do anything you would normally do in a card game in real life - bluff, cheat, etc... and there would be rolls for it.
Along with the three of you, there are 6 others who will play the game. Total of 9 players.
BTW - if you'd rather not do all of this, we can shortcut it to a roll or two. Depends on what you'd like. I'm okay either way.
(OOC: Oof, sorry didn't mean to hold up the game with a lot of rounds of cards, was hoping for a general how did the evening go check there. If possible I would play out 1 round but think of it as representing an evening of cards. Is that possible? Also I suppose the lucky feat could be used in some way, like on the d20 roll at least.)
Mau, Rabbit, and Wolfe - please roll an intelligence check, and since each of you are proficient in gaming, please add your proficiency to the roll.
The ante is one gold each maximum, so that's how much altogether you will bet over the course of the game. The other 6 players agree. So altogether, 9 gp are on the table up for grabs.
Ties will be decided by another d20 intelligence roll.
I'll roll for the 6 other players after your rolls are down.
(Sorry for the delay Dndbeyond is being weird and not telling me posts are updated!
Intelligence: 19)
Mau would not partake of any of the wine, his senses already seem dull this evening best not make it any worse, and would offer any of his share to the others.
”Forgive me preacher” he bows his head slightly in apology “I do not wish to convert, merely wished to expand my knowledge of deities of the land and find those who may worship dragon kind, though would gladly hear more of your teachings through our travels.”
After the game of cards Mau bids the rest party good evening and heads to his room to rest.
(perception to see if Mau hears Rabbit leave/return: 12)
Seeing there were clearly more to the little Rabbit than she first let on Wolfe just gives her an appreciative smile as she beats not only him but likely eventually taking the whole nights pot before he escorts her to her room. After the devastating defeat at cards at the hands of his protégé he then instead tries his luck in love and seeks out the lovely barmaid for comfort and warmth. Next morning he will come down the stairs, clearly envigorated, partaking in an extensive breakfast before joining the others by the carts.
....Wolfe, Mau, and Gambler 4 manage to win 1 gp apiece while Rabbit ends up cleaning up with 6gp in winnings.
Anyone with passive perception of 8 or higher will hear someone (you don’t know it’s Rabbit so no active checks needed at this point) open a door near you and walk down the hall. Ed you do not see her since you’re in the stables away from the entrance.
Wolfe is in no hurry, taking care to show the lovely barmaid a good time, during the whole night, and will gladly spend some gold to make her feel appreciated. Cha check: 23
(OOC: Luckier in love it seems ;-) I think perhaps Mau should have some winnings too with a roll of 19.)
Haha, you and Shirley have a grand old time! There are no repercussions or consequences of any kind. The breakfast is basic but included in your room so none of you pay anything for it.
