Unfortunately, as initiative had started, they moved forward on their turn, which means you could not have moved or acted yet. How far away from Val were you when you said you put Val between you and the enemy?
OOC: Should I roll one CON save or four? Here's one roll: 12
Assuming Val did not have the time to protect himself with armor of agathys, he'll do so now. Letting his frustration bubble up he prepares for battle by gripping his new blade tight and yelling: "Stay back, Evy! Don't catch a sniff of their stench."
As the stench is the same, I think one roll should suffice. So, you are "immune" to the stench. Evy, you'll need to roll on your turn as well since you are within melee of Val.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Evy flourishes her new wand. “You sure you want a piece of us?!” she calls out in Common as seven streaks of light shoot out, striking seven of the oncoming figures, leaving just the last one in line unharmed.
All charges used, the wand disintegrates on a 1: 19 Seven magic missiles: 2, 4, 4, 3, 4, 4, 4 Intimidation now that she has shown her “magical prowess”: 17
OOC > I’m imagining Evy’s magic mostly sounds like a fireworks show, these magic missiles included. Lots of whistling and crackling and explosive sounds.

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
OOC 1: So you're a roll-for-each-dart kind of player? I'm down with that.
OOC 2: Jubilee was always one of my favorite 90's X-Men, so Evy following in that same kind of "lights and explosions" theme is fine by me!
Val's eyes water just a little, and he can feel his stomach do a cartwheel, but he's able to resist the full effects of the stench. Letting his frustration bubble up, he prepares for battle by gripping his new blade tight and yelling, "Stay back, Evy! Don't catch a sniff of their stench." As he begins to breathe deeply, a magical layer of steaming ice forms over his body protectively.
"What stench? Oh, that. That smells like you most mornings!" Evy responds, smiling. She flourishes her new wand. "You sure you want a piece of us?!" she calls out in Common as seven streaks of light shoot out, striking seven of the oncoming figures.
Which is spared: 2
DM roll: 3 — Well ... ok.
In response, all eight creatures turn and attempt to run away. Val and Evy, you may make an opportunity attack against one (each) of the fleeing creatures if you desire. Evy, as you are only holding the wand, your melee attack would be with your fist.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Val just finished pumping himself up for the fight, so he will definitely take a swing. He aims it at the most injured available target. In case it brings the enemy down, let's call it a non-lethal blow.
Late to the party again. Sorry, folks. Yes, we agreed you both would roll your wild surges, and I will roll the results if you roll a 1.
Val swings out with his new sword, striking down one of the fleeing creatures. Its legs give out, and it falls forward, sliding a foot or so on the forest floor before lying still and silently bleeding from the gash in its reptilian back. The creatures continue to hoof it deeper into the trees, disappearing into the darkness. It isn't long before even the sound of their feet fades away.
"I am sure I don't know what you mean," Evy laughs. "Honestly though, that could have gone much worse." She edges forward to look at the one lying on the ground. Dead?

Val responds with a simple "Hrmm.." and keeps an eye around the area while Evy examines the fallen reptilian creature. He then clarifies: "It was meant as a non-lethal blow. Perhaps they are unconscious."
Oh, I missed the part about being non-lethal. He's not bleeding. He's got a nice, big bruise on the back of the head, though. The creature is still breathing.

“Not dead,” Evy notes, crouching by the creature. “Did you mean to interrogate it?” she asks, glancing over her shoulder at Val. She examines it a little more closely, trying to ascertain what it is or anything she might know.
Nature and Arcana are both +1: 6

Evy would have backed away as they charged, she’s no fool and she has a low AC and Con and HP.

She would have stayed within melee range of Val, yep. I thought we had more distance and time. Oh well.

It's a troglodyte. And as it has a head frill, it's most likely a male.
“So, these will be the worshippers, then.” She goes to get the rope from her pack, and attempts to tie the troglodyte up.
