Xai'Bo will once again use the cover of the fog to sneak forward, and will move to the doorway of the library, trying to identify the clicking noise. He won't enter yet, he's just taking a look. He is also a bit wary of the suits of armour, so if possible he won't get too close.
Red velvet drapes cover the windows of the library. An exquisite mahogany desk and a matching high-back chair face the entrance and the fireplace, above which hangs a framed picture of a windmill perched atop a rocky crag. Situated in corners of the room are two overstuffed chairs. Floor-to-ceiling bookshelves line the south wall. A rolling wooden ladder allows one to more easily reach the high shelves. The desk has a single drawer, and resting atop it is an oil lamp, a jar of ink, a quill pen, a tinderbox, and a letter kit containing a red wax candle, four blank sheets of parchment, and a wooden seal bearing a windmill insignia.
Your eye is drawn to the bookshelves that hold hundreds of tomes on every subject, from history to alchemy.
Ruel felt conflicted a state which seemed to be his default feeling since entering the house, on the one hand he felt his duty to defend the weak on the other his mind span regarding the untold information that could be contained in the library. Perhaps even something regarding the order of the Silver Dragon.
Curiosity won out for now as he saw Xai'Bo make his way across to the library Ruel followed in his footsteps as much as his clumsiness allowed.
Xai'Bo will take in the scene in the library, but not being particularly interested in books will turn back, almost bumping into Ruel. He shrugs and says, "It's just books, no people. Do you want to take a look, or should we carry on upstairs to the nursery?"
Day follows into the library once Xai’Bo clears the room. He takes a moment to admire the collection, knowing that in a different time he would spend months looking through each tome for the chance of finding some piece of lost knowledge. Breaking out of his momentary hypnotic stare, Day replies, “We can always come back later, it may be best to continue on.”
Sirron glanced into the library with a curious expression but after hearing what the others had said about possibly going back to it later he sighs softly before making his way back to the stairs, mumbling under his breath in infernal as he did so. He knew that they had other matters that were more pressing than exploring the library but part of him had wanted to see if he could find some information about the house or perhaps find out what had actually caused the clicking noise that they had heard. "Out of curiosity... how many of you have ever heard of books being able to make sounds without someone or something moving them? I know we have to find the baby but I doubt the mistress of the house will be pleased by our intrusion and possibly assume that we are the cause of what is going on here...if she herself had nothing to do with it that is."
Ruel's ears subconsciously prick up when he hears words softly spoken in the infernal tongue and tries to catch their meaning, his mind going back to the lessons in Infernal given by Brother Moonrunner at the monastery.
The warlock Melantha took Rose's explanation in with "a grain of salt". The suspicion dwindled, however, when they noticed the not-so-pleasant hidden designs on the panels.
They would still be walking about the house with the children. Should all three take to the stairs, Melantha would gaze about the walls and doors with said carvings, looking to see if they too had "hidden meanings".
“The sounds seemed like they were coming from behind the books, but they stopped before I could tell exactly where.” Xai’Bo replies to Sirron.
He could tell the others were all keen to explore the library further. “I am happy to stand watch if you all want to explore the book room further, or we could split up?” he suggests.

"No no no. No splitting up." Melantha chided. "We haven't been together that long enough to be considered that type of gang. We quick search library - QUICK SEARCH - then we go to Walter. "
The green one walked around the library, scanning the rows of book filled shelves. If they find nothing among the books, they will move on to search the desk drawers.
There are bats carved faintly around the dancing youths. Looking closer, you realise their expressions are terrified, suggesting that they're actually fighting off the bats rather than dancing.
With no protest from the group, Mavis quickly cuts off a couple feet off of his coil of hempen rope and jams them in between both the oak and the mahogany doors' hinges to prevent both doors from closing fully and to let out the fog, hopefully clearing the air in the house a bit.
He follows the rest of the group upstairs, keeping to the back of the group. He keeps urging both Rose and Thorn ahead of him when they begin to lag behind.
'Do you want me to carry you, Young Master Thorn?' Mavis asks when he notices Thorn has been slowing the group down slightly. 'Come ride on my back.'
{Question: Correct me if I'm wrong, but does the stair lead directly to the third floor and we are currently on the third floor? Or is it a spiral staircase that connects each floor and we just climbed to the next floor above the foyer? I'm a bit confused on that.}
Mavis looks toward the people that has gone into the library and chooses to remain outside. He turns to Rose after hearing Sirron's suspicion.
'Young Miss Rose, are there any other people in the house beside your mother, your baby brother, and us?' Mavis asks to Rose. 'Is this clicking book common here? A magical book, perhaps? Have you heard of that?'
OOC I don't think the stairs go directly to floor 3 we entered at floor 1, climbed up stairs to floor 2 where the library is and there is another set of stairs leading to floor 3.

Ruel is brought from his reverie by Days words and contemplates Xai'Bos question.
"I agree the baby is the priority, but once they are safe we must talk to the mistress of the house about access to that library"
Ruel makes his way back towards the stairs preparing to ascend again.

(From behind the books, it is still happening.)
(They trail after you at the edge of the group. Thorn is slowing Rose down somewhat.)

You spot a red-covered book with a blank spine that sticks out of the shelves. It looks fake.
"Ooh Ooh Ooooh~" Melantha gingerly reaches up to pull out one of the books...but they're not tall enough to reach it.
