Hamish, seeing the quickly diminishing number of threats, stands up right and lets his confusion and anger focus into a bolt of energy that he throws from his outstretched hand at the Captain. The magic quickly thickens into a caustic rope of liquid and the stream of acid goes right for the captain's chest.
((Chaos Bolt, 23 to hit, 14 acid damage, Wild Surge roll of 15))
The acidic strike blindside's the captain and sends him stumbling.
He recovers and spying the source moves to engage but find his path blocked by Agnarr who smashes at him with his hammer. Unfortunately the Captain ducks under it and charges Hamish, firing his crossbow as he advances.
The bolt thuds into Hamish and then his longsword slashes you. Hamish takes 14 points of damage.
The First Mate continues to press Agnarr stopping him from potentially turning his attention to the Captain. The Barbarian dances aside from both vicious attacks with surprising dexterity.
Solvig, now unencumbered by threats strides confidently towards the Captain. His slides his Trident into a harness on his back as his walks and suddenly a long whip like string of thorned seaweed forms from his right hand.
'Face me, Coward!' he roars. He lashes the whip towards the Captain, coiling it about his chest and then jerks him back towards him. The thorns bite deep and the captain is tugged away from Hamish, prompting an opportunity attack from the sorcerer.
"You'll regret that!", Darwin shouts at the Captain as he sees Hamish fall.
He narrows his eyes, and the curse he placed on the Bosun transfers to the Captain.
He then digs deep into his well of energy, and once again a beam of pure eldritch energy erupts fom his hands and flies towards the captain.
Bonus Action: Move Hex to the Captain (disadvantage on Strength checks) Action: Cast Eldritch Blast at Bosun: 4+5=9 (won't bother with the damage haha)
Ida watches Hamish fall and she sprints to his side as she sees Darwin casting blue energy towards the Captain. She believes Selvig and Agnarr are handling the Captain and First Mate so her priority is getting Hamish stable. She tries to focus on the positives around her and wills some of that good into Hamish to try to stabilize him.
The crackling blast of energy fizzes past the Captain as he's jerked backwards and Ida rushes forwards. Divine energy flows from Ida's hands and into Hamish's body and the bleeding wounds visible on his body begin to close.
A lightning bolt leaps from Agnarr's skin and strikes the first mate in the chest as Agnarr slams his hammer down overhead aiming for his head. It misses his head but thumps down into his shoulder with enough force to crumple him to a knee.
Hamish sits up dazed and sees Ida beside him, a smile barely appearing on his face before he recalls why he's on the ground. Still sitting, Hamish feels fury well up inside of him and focus to a white hot point that suddenly cascades down his outstretched arm in a shimmer of coruscating light to leap from his hand at the Captain again.
((Chaos Bolt with 2nd level slot, but only 11 on the attack.))
The bolt of unbridled energy whizzes past the Captain as he is being hauled backwards.
The Captain turns on his heel and charges Solvig, firing off his crossbow before slashing with his sword. Both attacks blast through the magical shielding and find purchase deep in the Sea King's flesh. He stumbles slightly, blood leaking from the corner of his mouth.
The first mate unleashes on Agnarr, slashing him deeply twice and Agnarr drops to a knee.
Solvig whips his Trident back out and stabs the Captain with pointy end before whipping the weapon around and clubbing him with the other end.
Solvig, Agnarr, the first mate and Captain all look like this fight is taking a toll on them.
Darwin breathes a sigh of relief as Ida rushes over to heal Hamish and his friend rejoins the fight.
He runs forward towards the battle between Solvig and the Captain, trying to get a better angle for another at unleashing his eldritch energy.
He once again digs deep into his well of energy, sending another beam of pure eldritch energy erupting from his hands towards the captain.
Movement: 15ft closer to the captian (not mechanically important, and he won't get too close) Action: Cast Eldritch Blast at Captain (with Hex): 17+5=22, Damage: 3+3+6=12 (6 force, 6 necrotic)
Ida nods as Solvig's words as she moves to Agnarr. He doesn't look great, and she's genuinely worried about the amount of energy he spent while fighting. She focuses and tries to heal him as best she can as she gently touches his shoulder.
Cast: Cure Wounds - Restores 5 HP to Agnarr
Ida kneels for a moment, then says "What now? We did what was right, but we may have just lost our best chance to make time and to actually arrive at our destination."
Agnarr looks at Darwin with a look that is somewhere between terror and rage.
'Agnarr? Agnarr Runesson?' Solvig asks, a dark smile forming on his face as he recognizes Agnarr and realizes who exactly is in his presence. 'Prince Agnarr, Thunderborn, Blessed of Elding, first born son of King Rune of Sólareyja.' Solvig's tone shifts to a deliberately ceremonial one as he lists Agnarr's royal titles. 'I was unaware I was in the presence of another royal.' he bows mockingly.
Agnarr sighs, 'King Solvig, ruler of the seas and chosen of Bylgjur. Last son of Queen Kiri of Paorarowai. Greetings.' his tone is civil but cold. Darwin, you get the very strong impression that Agnarr is scared.
The Sea King grins a wicked grin, 'Oh I have waited a long time to meet one of your kin.' Solvig says with some relish and he adjusts his grip on the Trident.
Ida searches through her brain for some kind of understanding of what Solvig is saying, but finds herself lost. She sees the tension rising though, and knows she is likely the only option in trying to dissuade more violence.
She touches Agnarr as she begins to speak, allowing some of her life force to flow through to help heal him. (Lay on Hands Pool: 10 HP to Agnarr)
"King Solvig, I believe it should be noted that regardless of the distant past, most recently Agnarr fought beside you and on the side of what was just. And he is part of something much larger than you may know of."
Agnarr touches Ida's shoulder as he feels his wounds heal.
Solvig releases one hand from his Trident and positions it as though it were a staff upon which he leans, clearly moved away from imminent violence by Ida's argument.
'Your words are true, Dame.' he says, noting your appearance, accent and garb to discern you are a noble. 'But there is a blood feud here, and his assistance in a fight I would have won regardless does not wash the blood that his ancestors left there from his hands.'
'I am not responsible for the actions of my forefathers, King Solvig.' Agnarr says calmly.
Solvig ignores the big Barbarian and instead addresses the rest of the party, 'I'm sorry, my nephew is being awfully rude, who do I have the honor to address?' he asks, shooting a sharp look at Agnarr on the fourth word.
"I am Dame Ida Von Harding of Haukberg, and sweet Erik and dear Burkhard, are friends of my family that are traveling with me." She motions to Darwin as Erik and Hamish as Burkhard. She remembered the chancellor's warning of giving your name to those who may know magic or may use magic against you, and wanted to try to best protect them. Luckily she had multiple names as part of hers that no one other than her family knew, and that she didn't use.
The Sea King nods, 'Well, Dame, I'm sorry to interfere with your travel plans. I am willing, in honor of his assistance in this matter, to let the whelp leave with his life but it is time for me to scuttle this vessel.'
We have need for a vessel, to try to reach our destination with any haste. Would you be willing to allow us to utilize this ship for the next 4 Days? I would like to offer to try to purchase the ship outright, to avoid it's sinking as the vessel was not complicit in the act of piracy, but unfortunately I do not have the means with me at this time. I could offer my word on my name that we will return it to you in 4 Days time, which may afford me the ability to give you a proper offer for the ship if you'd be willing to hear it then.

The eldritch blast burns a hole clear through the chest of the Captain who falls aside to reveal a mildly confused Solvig.
The first mate drops his sword and raises his hands.
Play victory music.
'Thank you for the assistance.' Solvig says to the party.
“Someone tie him up”, Darwin orders pointing at the first mate.
”That was intense, but I figure you were in the right, and we tend to land on the side of right wherever we can”, he says to Solvig.
Ida nods as Solvig's words as she moves to Agnarr. He doesn't look great, and she's genuinely worried about the amount of energy he spent while fighting. She focuses and tries to heal him as best she can as she gently touches his shoulder.

Solvig looks closely at the party, 'And where are you heading in such a hurry?' his eyes linger on Agnarr who does not meet his eye.
Darwin sees the way Agnarr is acting around Solvig, and doesn’t quite know what to make of it.
”Why don’t you explain, Agnarr? You know most about our destination”, he says and watches Agnarr’s reaction carefully.
