Shoowaa keeps his head down, seemingly sulking after the guard caught him. During his big sulk he starts sweeping, thinking that it’s not the best weapon but it might work in a pinch. He sweeps some of the fish bones to the pile he’s sweeping. While pitting all the dirt and bones to a pile, he’s looking for any evidence of mice, rat, spider, or other pests.
When you toss the rock into the pool, you swear you see some kind of ripple across the bottom of the pool that would have to be caused by something other than the rock you threw.
The guard responds "Eh... what? Lichen. Sure whatever. Just don't eat it. Might be poisonous. I don't want to have to explain why a prisoner I was watching is dead."
As you're sweeping you see evidence of rat droppings near the pantry area. You've also seen cobwebs in places in the caverns. There are blind cave crickets hopping around and other small insects. There is certainly evidence of the usual things you would expect to find in underground caverns. This far down you don't see bats because it would be too far for them to fly to the surface for food.
Phodoxia takes a couple small handfuls of the lichen and tucks it securely behind each ear, patting it like it's the newest fashion. Happily she continues scrubbing and cleaning.

Tanis takes a moment to check himself and wonder if he is losing his mind already. I was expecting something like a thin spider-silk trap to catch and hold jumpers, or maybe some permanent illusion. Or deadly fungi. Already checked for killer fish. No clue what I actually saw there though.
He would quietly communicate what he thought he saw in the pool to the others doing rock-stacking work when given a chance, and again later to the wider group if we do the mushroom circle back upstairs. Jumping down 100' to the pool seems like the obvious choice if the group were to win free of the cell, but now Tanis is uncertain.
Petmailer says to the Drow guards, “Hey, do you fellows mind if we each take a quick dip to wash the muck off of us? We have been in that cell without a bath and we are starting to smell like feet, armpits and ass. Probably a little easier on you guys too if you didn’t have to smell us like this. What do you say? We will go one at a time, be quick and no funny stuff, just a quick dip in the water.”
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
[OOC: Sorry bad past couple of days with appointments, should clear up a bit but I might be starting a new job on Monday, so we will have to wait and see how much I can get online. Also, how much does Vrah know of the area having been a guard for the drow previously, or was he guard elsewhere and transferred here, I am good either way.]
Vrah heaves rock after rock after rock over to the stream, always looking for something he can hide about his person. He sees Petmailer's attempt at hitting the chain and then shakes his head at the attempt. Someone will need help to try and break the chain that way, the manacles are placed on oneself just a little too well.
Occasionally after bring a boulder over to put in the stream Vrah will look at any potential piles of trash in the water to see if there is anything worth trying to grab.
Perception: 3
Hearing Petmailer ask the guards he chimes in, "At least maybe two of you escort us to the waterfall so we can clean ourselves up, that way you can see what we are doing."
[I think Vrah would have been transferred here recently. Maybe a month ago. This place is pretty small and mostly just a transfer station. They wouldn't keep anyone here for long stretches of time. Even the Drow here hope it's a temporary station and want to get assigned somewhere better ]
Shoor would say "Ilvara has complained about your stench. You can wash yourself off in the shallows. It's too deep by the waterfall. But I can tell you, if you think you're going to swim out of here, you're sadly mistaken. The stream leaves this cavern through an underground passage. Unless you can breathe underwater, you'll be dead in a few minutes. That's why we don't bring the fish guy down here to work. He's the only one who could probably swim to safety."
Shoowaa wants to check something before doing anything, but the guards are watching him too closely to do anything. He wants to light a fire under their butts, but knows that he would very likely be killed for that. A fire would be a decent distraction..... no can't do it. He'll have to try magic once the guards are paying attention to something else other than him, but that may take the shift, if not a few days before they calm down and not watch him as closely. He looks for nooks and crannys where he could be able to reach/hide where the drow won't be able to get there easily.
As she bustles around cleaning, Phodoxia notices the rat droppings in the pantry. She glances at Shoowaa, and then looks back plaintively at the guard. "There are rats in the pantry... I see their droppings! Don't you think maybe you might get one of those little hunters, to eat them? We used to keep one or two of those back in my tribe, what do you call them, oh, cats. To keep the vermin out of the food!" She ponders as she stacks up her latest armful of clean dishes. "Do spiders eat rats?"
The 3 guards are watching the prisoners at all times, so it's not like you can duck under a table to hide without them knowing where you are. The room is a fairly open chamber. The area set aside for the pantry has some barrels and crates, but again, you can't really hide behind a barrel while someone is watching you duck behind it. If there is a distraction, you might be able to hide somewhere, but any action to duck out of sight from the guards who are watching you will immediately draw a reaction from them.
Vrah joins Petmailer in washing himself looking for anything that might have been left in the water from previous prisoners or trash or whatever else might be living in these caves.
Perception: 18
When he notices the thing rise out of the water he shouts a warning to his companions and the guards.

Since you attempt to hit the rock missed, the guards just think you're clumsy.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
A weird, gray gelatinous form begins rising up out of the shallows of the pool and moving toward Petmailer. Quivering pseudopods reach toward him.
Those of you near the pool hear a bizarre, unearthly voice in your minds saying "Flesh for the Faceless Lord!!"
[I'll need everyone in the rock crew to roll initiative. It will be this evening before I'm able to do anymore. ]

In goblin: “I want to use magic but I need a distraction. What do you think of a fire? maybe I can make a big stink!”
(I figured but I want to find out all I can to hopefully use it to my advantage later.)
