The bandit glares at you for a moment Lefaris and then at you Chonk.
"Needed food...supplies. My people were killed by a creeper."Lefaris you can see now that the Pillager is injured, their armour scorched and their bald pate bruised and cut.
"Very well." Lefaris says with a nod. "Put down your weapon and I will help you get supplies to take back to your people." She takes a step forward. "If you had simply come and asked I would have helped you then as well, just so you are aware." She holds his eyes, waiting for them to put down the weapon. If they do so she will give a nod. "Thank you." Glancing to her companions. "Please do not harm him, I do truly wish to help them get supplies and get back to their people with it. Those in deep need often do foolish things, even when better options are available."
Hearing what Lefaris is saying, Sindri just walks into the Tanner shop. If the pillager is listening to her and stepping away from the tanner, she heads over to the tanner and unties them.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Guroz the door creeks loudly as you and Sindri enter behind the stranger. They whirl round in a sudden panic and let fly a crossbow bolt toward you Attack: 16 Damage: 5
You all have one action to either calm or control the situation before the Pillager can act again.
"Drop your weapon now or I will not aid you in any manner." Lefaris snaps at the bandit. "You just shot a close companion of mine, for no better reason than your own foolishness." She seems quite angry at this point. "If you want help for your village you need to stop this and let us help you. This is your last chance..."
Chonk is shocked that Guroz took that bolt and did not retaliate. He focuses on the location of the dagger and the angle of the crossbow.
He will Ready his movement to close the distance and interpose himself between the Tanner and the Pillager. The trigger is if the Pillager makes any aggressive action towards anyone.
"You may leave if that is all you want." Lefaris says with a narrowing of her eyes at the bandit. "If you want aid instead, then stay and talk with me about what you need."
Chonk takes the crossbow from the Pillager and scoops up the dagger from the ground. He leans into Lefaris and softly asks, “Are we willing to break this village’s laws by letting a maurader go free to harass others?”
Not understanding the geopolitical tensions in this “new” world or the intentions of Lefaris, he asks this quietly so as to not convey disunity within the party. He realizes she may not be able to answer him directly but will watch her actions and words that follow.
"I need food, that is all and then I will go. You will not see me again."The bandit says to you Lefaris.
"Lies." the Villager interrupts,"These Pillagers are swarming all over our lands to east, stealing and burning as they go. I would be dead if you had not arrived when you did."
"Perhaps." the Pillager admits, "...but intent is not action. I regret that I have wounded your companions." they gesture toward you Guroz, "It was a...mistake, but I have honoured your offer and you have my weapons. Now show honour in return and free me with the aid you promised."
"Very well." Lefaris agrees. She would hand over whatever she has on her for food at this point. "If you wish more than that then you will need to wait for me to go to the general store and purchase some." She informs the bandit as she steps back.

Chonk remains quiet, waiting for the bandit to reply. He does silently motion with his hands for the bandit to lower their weapons.

"Wait wait! We're with her!" Sindri points to Lefaris with her hands up. "We're to help, please don't shoot at us. We didn't mean to startle you."
Guroz takes the hit, but follows suit; making a gesture of dropping the greataxe, "she speaks the truth." The half-orc grunts.

Seeing they are truly surrounded and marking the mercy being shown the Pillager lowers their crossbow and let's the dagger fall to the ground.
Sindri you move forward and begin to untie the Tanner.
"No village." the stranger spits, "Must get back to my people. You will let me go now?"
Lefaris you would remember the cleric telling you that the Pillagers are invaders from beyond the Deep Ocean in the east.

Sindri finishes untying the Tanner, "Are you ok? What happened?"
Lefaris make another persuasion roll with advantage.
Sindri the Tanner stands and give you a low bow, followed by a hateful look to the Pillager.
"Thank you. I am unharmed. We should take the Pillager to the town square for judgement!"

Lefaris persuasion is 19, rolled with advantage in the game log.
Guroz takes himself to a wall and leans against it, examining the damage the bolt did to his arm with deep breaths and the odd grunt.
"Villager, we should at least hear this villager out first. Please." The half-orc makes a pointed look at the villager.
Sindri backs up against the wall. She doesn't want any part of this and tries to hide in the shadows.
