As soon as you get into the water you realize two things: One, the kelp underwater makes it very difficult to traverse (difficult terrain) and two, the crabs are ready for a meal.

(Roll initiative and actions. I will say though that you can tell the box is submerged underwater and is locked)

Upon seeing the crabs become hostile, Petros casts a sleep spell.

Initiative: 10

Sleep Hit Points: 24

Gellwin sighed and summoned flame, throwing it at the nearest non-sleeping crab.

Initiative: 4

Produce Flame: Attack: 19 Damage: 8

“Not again.” Cade grumbles and draws his sword. He attacks the closest crab that isn’t sleeping.

Initiative: 20 

Attack: 14 Damage: 7

First 2 crabs fall sleep

3rd one rushes out and claws Gellwin for 7 damage

4th miss Cade

Gellwin's fire attack burns the first crab pretty well, but the other attacks go missing!

" Ow!", said Gellwin as he punched the crab in the face and summoned energies to close his wound.

Petros stabs the crab which attacked Gellwin, if that crab is already dead, he goes for the weakest non-sleeping crab.

Bones calls out, "Be careful, animals may be capable of spreading the infection as well!" As he does, from dry land, he pulls out his light crossbow and fires at the crab which seems most injured.

Cade wades into the water and swings his sword at the most injured crab.

The first crab does down! Well, he was mostly asleep...and the other sleeping crab takes a bit of a beating! The other two crabs attempt to flank Bones but the kelp gets in the way and their attacks are ineffective!

Cade splashes through the icy water and attacks crab #3.

Gellwin shook his head at the stupid crustaceans, " Eat fish, shoo!". As he kicked at it.

Petros stabs the weakest crab he can.

With a solid stroke the sleeping crab takes it to the face, sending back to the depths from which it came! The other two crabs are too deft on their legs currently and manage to nick Bones for 3 points of damage and  Gellwin for 4!

Bones fires at the injured crab! "They really are tenacious aren't they?!"
