Ursa says "Well done. Well done everyone. If everyone's OK with it, we can divide the treasure equally. We can now go back and let them know that this brave group of adventures has rid the area of the goblin horde." We head back to town and let them know the goblin's are no more.
((Thanks for the healing, guys. I am traveling long distance with family all today so may not be able to post, or to level up my character until late tonight.))
You sit around a campfire listening to one of the merchants of a cavern that you've wandered across, recount his experience at the hands of some Kobolds.
I was taken by the evil dogs while camping near Agav’s bog. They dragged me into their lair, and it wasn’t until I escaped that I knew the truth of the place: a great and bony wing buried in the side of a hill. They chained me in the dark with a candle made from foul wax and forced me to dig at the marrow. Their bonds were poorly made, and I fled several days later while they slept. What purpose did they have in mining that marrow?
Thredash lets out a belch, which of course orcish for Yum, that was good...
A great and bony wing? You mean like a dragon's wing? The marrow of the bones of any animal is good eating, it's always good for your blood. I bet dragon marrow is really good for us.
And do you have anything to trade? Like healing potions, or darts, or ball bearings?
The merchant scratches his side before replying. " No I don't carry any of that on any of my wagons, but I do have a couple of vials of water blessed by a Priestess of Freya. I can sell them both for 20 gold."
Brix, who had been toiling away crushing herbs in pestle, perks up when he hears "bony wing" and "Dragon".
"A dragon skeleton you say! Oh I'd like to see that. Lots if good components in a dragon. Even a dead one. We should definitely go check that out." Says Brix before going back to preparing the herbs.
Brix stands up with a grunt. He stretches his small frame with a loud groan. He wanders towards where Thredash is attempting to do business with the traveler. Addressing the half -orc he says "Say there, I would like to show some appreciation to you for volunteering to remove that goblin threat. I rest easier knowing that trade route is a little more secure than before. If you were to allow me to examine that dart of yours, or possibly a dagger if you had one, I believe I've come up with a way to imbue a most beneficial quality that I think you might appreciate. So what do you say?" As the gnome lets Thredash consider his offer, he continues to outline his plan all while pacing about. " You see I've come to learn that if I combine certain components in an alchemical way I can imbue certain magic traits into items." He suddenly turns to Ursa and says, "And I believe I maybe of assistance to you as well. If you'd allow me the chance to touch that through which you focus you magical spells." Brix fixes a look on each of the party as he awaits a reply.
Soren shivers a bit at the thought of Marrow Mines. Long ago, deep in the forest, he had seen a young green dragon in the distance. Thankfully the creature had not noticed him at the time and he had run away. But such foul creatures and their minions, the kobolds, should not run amok, enslaving innocents. Another thought occurs to him:
"What was it like? The marrow itself, I mean? Of a dragon, I assume you are implying. Was it like mining rock or earth... or something else?"
((Also, OOC @DM, do we know where Agav's Bog is?))
The merchant nods. "Aye, that'll do." He reaches out and takes one of the gems from Thredash's palm. He then motions for a teen-age boy over and instructs him to fetch the small box under the wagon's bench. The boy takes off, and after a few minutes' returns with the box. The boy starts to hand the box to the merchant, but he waves him off and tells the boy to give the box to Thredash instead.
((Also, OOC @DM, do we know where Agav's Bog is?)) (Agav's Bog is 4 days to the south of your current location.)
Sitting silent with the merchent is a human man, someone who looks like someone you have seen before. He is wearing a torn up tunic, the city crest has been pulled off, his shield is next to him but you can tell that it has been painted over several times.
