"Yes, specifically we are looking for a pearl... My friend Kass here is in need of one in order to work one of their intriguing inventions," Miesha confirms. "But it is indeed a fine and intriguing place you run here, I must say. So if it is not a problem I would like to look around and see if anything else catches my fancy..."
And Miesha will do just that, poking and sniffing around at the odds and ends to see if anything grabs her interest. She has no shopping list or such, just browsing...
Birgon smiles at Crannoc’s compliment. At Miesha’s request, she thinks for a moment before diving under the counter in search of something specific, speaking all the while. “Yes, that tablet is something very unique. I haven’t gotten the chance to do much with what little I know yet. It’s combinations of alchemical symbols with whatever nonsense that’s also there is certainly unfamiliar. I’m not sure if this kind of ritual is best avoided or if the style of writing could be used to greater affect in other applications.”
She pops back up from behind the counter, holding a small box. She opens it and shows you it’s contents: a slightly dusty, but surprisingly gorgeous pearl. “This will run you about 150 gold pieces.”
Crannoc - The assortment of plants present strikes you as odd. Many wouldn’t normally be able to grow in this environment and they must be nurtured very carefully to allow them to thrive. You could imagine numerous uses for the plants in this room. If you would like to more closely inspect one plant and determine it’s nature and uses, you may make a Nature check.
Miesha - Browsing around the store, you see mostly potions and similar concoctions in bottles on the shelves. There is occasionally an item that isn’t a typical good found at an apothecary, such as a few weapons or pieces of jewelry. Many of the bottles are labeled, though not with price tags. Some of the ones that catch your eye read: “Potion of Resistance,” “Oil of Slipperiness,” “Potion of Growth,” and “Basic Poison.”There are numerous Potions of Resistance with different types of damages in parenthesis on the tag. There are other items as well, including many Potions of Healing and a neatly rolled scroll.
Jasper (Back with Agor) - “My previous owner was the honorable, Lord Sorlar Lonsvell. We went on great adventures. I will recount for you what I know of our battle with the dragon at some point.”
(Also, there are still 3 Charms of Luck and the potion that no one has claimed in their inventory yet.)
Crannoc - One plant that catches your eye as you browse is one that you are familiar with only anecdotally. Your mother told you much of what she learned in various journeys into the rest of the world, and this plant is one that she told you of from a marsh. It is a thin vine with leaves every few inches. It’s leaves can be utilized in many herbal concoctions. Your mother knew it best for its performance-enhancing qualities.
Miesha sidles up next to Kass to examine the pearl. "I know little of such things," she offers in a slightly hushed tone to try to exclude the shopkeep from the conversation. "Would this pearl be sufficient for your needs? Is the pricing fair? It seems a cost but if it is for the good of us all perhaps the others would not mind contributing to the purchase?"
The paladin will step away from the counter and to the other party members. If Kass believes 150 is a fair price Miesha would suggest to the others that each chip in 30 gold, if they can afford it, as it will be to the groups benefit that Kass be able to identify more precisely the items they carry. While stepped away from the counter and hopefully while Kass or someone has the Birgon distracted, Miesha will cast Detect Magic before once more looking over the items. She'd like to glance at the potions to help verify their authenticity, of course, but mostly she is interested in examining the weapons for sale with this spell active. As a warrior it is always the weapons which intrigue her the most and she is very curious why this establishment would have them for sale...
(Miesha's Charm of Luck has been claimed... and I believe our Jasper was the one most in charge of the loot so if there's an unclaimed potion I would assume he has it?)
Thinking he can do something with the vine's leaves using his Herbalism Kit (with which he is proficient), Crannoc awkwardly asks Birgon the price.
To Miesha, he would honestly say: "I believe the equivalent of thirty gold pieces is the full total of all the metal coins I possess. I would give it up if the group thinks it is worth the investment, but it may leave us unable to trade in other ways." (He looks meaningfully at the vine).
Miesha - Upon casting Detect Magic, you see that the potion bottles all emanate an appropriate amount of magic. The scroll glows with both the enchantment and illusion schools. Most of the weapons are mundane, but one dagger glows faintly with enchantment and abjuration magic.
Crannoc - Birgon thinks for a moment. “People don’t usually want the ingredients by themselves. How about 5 gold pieces per leaf.” You would know that to produce a considerably powerful herbal concoction you would need three leaves per use.
I begin to understand why the city-folk are so fixated on these shiny metal coins...
Crannoc tries to judge how many leaves it might be safe to harvest (say six?) from the vine without harming it. He thanks Birgon but does not yet decide how many leaves to buy. He tells the group: "I think with fifteen or thirty gold pieces' worth of leaves from this vine, I can create a beneficial herbal mixture with my Herbalism Kit but I'll wait to see if our pack thinks there are better choices on which to spend our gold."
Maggwyn follows the others into the shop and looks around. Once the others start talking about the pearl that the dwarf produced, she silently heads over to the other side of the lady, beckoning her attention..
"Miss, should I call you Aunt or Sister?" she waits a second to see how she responds. If she answers one way or the other and not blankly, Maggwyn continues, "Would you possibly be a pearl yourself? And would you possibly have any slivers for me?"
If she does look blankly at Maggwyn, she nods at her and moves on to find Jasper.
Jasper displays moderate interest in looking over the potions and a few other items but otherwise stays quiet at the shop. He watches Maggwyn interact with Birgon out of the corner of his eye and grins slightly when she makes contact. He also steals brief glances behind the counter for the tablet but will wait a few moments for other business to be taken care of before asking to be involved in taking a good look at it.
Kass frowns upon hearing the price. "Unfortunately, that is more currency than I have presently. I have only enough to cover ten percent of the cost. I will not ask any of you to purchase it for me, it would be much better if I just... found one, I suppose. Perhaps I need to go back to the coast and dive for pearls."
Maggwyn - Birgon looks slightly surprised, but smiles at your question. She speaks somewhat quietly “Why yes dear, I am your Aunt. Are there any other siblings among you? Either way, I’m not quite a pearl, my specialties lie elsewhere. I might have some slivers for you, though I don’t know exactly what it is you seek. Though if you are looking I could arrange a job for you.”
Maggwyn smiles at the woman and continues the conversation, "I'm more of a friend than a sister, but my tabaxi over here is a brother. We're new in town, so we appreciate the haven, and are definitely interested in a job." her eyes a light at the thought of it.
(When Birgon is finished speaking privately with Maggwyn, Crannoc will awkwardly attempt to pay Birgon 15gp for three leaves from the vine he had inspected, only if it looks as if the vine will survive the harvesting of the three leaves. He puts the leaves reverently in his pack for use with his Herbalism Kit later, with the sycamore seedpod fluttering, almost seeming to supervise as he does so.)
Whether others can chip in at all or not, Miesha will purchase the pearl for Kass, the ability for them to properly identify objects seems too useful to pass up. (150g deducted from Miesha.) Miesha will hand over the pearl to Kass immediately and then ask to examine a couple of the weapons, not wanting to make her interest in the dagger apparent. Though she now surely does have enough to purchase more she reminds herself that there is always tomorrow...
Maggwyn - Birgon peers under the counter to check something, then pokes back up. "Are your other friends also in on the job, or just the two of you? I have one that is fairly urgent, preferably done by tonight."
Crannoc - Birgon takes a moment from her conversation with Maggwyn to nod her head in affirmation of your offer. She takes the 15 gold pieces you offer and observes to make sure you correctly remove them from the vine, which you do.
Miesha - Birgon responds to your request. "Yes, you may inspect the weapons. Their prices are all pretty much what you'd expect for a weapon of their type. There is one exception, the dagger there has some magic in it. It'll cost you 300 gold pieces, but I assure you it's worth it."
Kass is clearly dumbfounded by this gesture. "I... I have no way to possibly repay you... But as soon as I have the means, you shall be repaid, bronze warrior. Ta muut."
Jasper quietly makes his way over and then peers closely over Miesha's shoulder at the dagger with wide eyes. He quietly says "youcan buy that one for me, eh? What are its enchantments?"
Miesha smiles at Kass and gives a small shrug. "Use it for the good of the party and repayment is made," Miesha replies, a bit embarrassed that it's being seen as a big thing.
Miesha's expression changes to one of amusement when Japser sidles up and comments. "Alas, my friend, but the coin purse has dried up. Besides, I'd consider buying that one for myself if I could afford it..." Miesha will advise Jasper the schools of magic she sensed from the dagger due to her Detect Magic spell but whisper to him that's all she knows for sure, couldn't be more precise. ((I think it was enchantment and abjuration?))

Crannoc does not know how much 150 gold pieces really is, but he suspects it's quite a bit. He reaches out for Temuth's Guidance, inspecting a plant.
