Kass - You slam the door and hold it shut. There is a strike on the door from the opposite side. Make an Athletics check.
Jasper - The runes on this paper are what give it its magic. In this case, it is enchanted to aid in communication. Anything written on the paper will be replicated on a matching paper and vice versa.
Miesha - The half-elf glares at Miesha, his business being hindered by her spectacle. Sir Brodstin sighs, looking to the lineup of most of his guards. "Today of all days was not the day to bother me. You," he points to the accused guard, "you're fired. Gotir, you're promoted to his position. Escort him out and then resume your shifts as normal."
He looks to Miesha, considering the titles she offered up. "Ms. Stark, if you have any further business then return tomorrow. And where exactly is Winterfell Road?"
"You can't fire him!" Miesha calls out in outrage. "Are you insane??"
"You are supposed to be a pillar of the community. A leader. Most assuredly their employer. How can you be any of those things if you choose expedience over fairness? You can't just fire this man because it will make this one specific moment in time a midge easier for you! Do you not care about the truth of the matter? Does this man not deserve the right to tell you his side of the story? To put up a defense?"
Turning back to closer to the house, Miesha tries to catch the attention of the other man as well. "Yo! Ears! Can you believe this nonsense? You follow this 'Sir' Brodstin fellow, is he always this much of a spineless twerp? Do you agree with his firing this man here on the word of some stranger he doesn't even know? Well of course you do, right? You're still employed. Surely you cannot disagree with him ever then? Do you polish his shoes as well? And what do you kiss while your bending down there to do that?"
"I am sorry, you do not deserve to be treated like this by these men! You deserve a fair hearing, to tell your side..." Miesha assures the guard. I cannot believe you are just standing there and taking such an indignity from such a little, jello spined simpleton as the Lordship of Brownstains here..."
Concentrating and keeping Temuth'sGuidance on Jasper while the cat-man finishes his work, Crannoc tries to think of what they can do next in this strange, strange situation. Not wanting to have to dodge past the unearthly animated armor once more.
Perhaps we can Misty Step out the window rather than retrace our steps?
Remaining behind the obscurement of his Minor Illusion at the window, Crannoc tries to look through it outside at different angles to get the lay of the land. He looks for trees or other structures that might serve as cover if they were to climb or teleport down. Also for guards or other people to avoid.
Like a hare, going to ground in a strange snowfield...
Jasper nods affirmatively at the notion of using Misty Step to escape out the window. It should alleviate any concerns over magical runes protecting against opening the window, for one thing.
The tabaxi clears out the drawer(s) of all mentioned items including the interesting arcane paper.
The next thing Jasper does is take a moment to cast Disguise Self and turn himself into a version of one of those hyena creatures the party had encountered not long ago. He looks at Crannoc and shrugs in his hyena form.
(OOC: not sure if we're still on a hard initiative or just a loose timer, so I'll ad an action or two...)
Jasper moves to the window and then surveys the office once more to ensure there's nothing else he'd like to take. Right before he Misty Steps out towards the ground he'll use Mage Hand to take the mace off of the wall in case it is trapped. He looks to Crannoc for a scouting report of the outside and to ensure he is ready to depart before he proceeds with the mace or the teleport.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Hearing the commotion outside escalate, Maggwyn heads back in the hallway, whispers to Kass, "Time to leave." and she heads back down the stairs quickly and quietly, heading towards the window. She tries to head out and into the yard if she doesn't see any guards.
Crannoc and Jasper - You see no further items of interest in the office, and see some large, trimmed bushes on the ground below you. Jasper, if you are attempting to remove the mace as you Misty Step then make a Sleight of Hand Check.
Miesha - The fastest to respond to your statements is, somewhat surprisingly the elf. He turns to you in a fury, getting close enough for him to speak in a moderately quiet tone. “You listen here, peasant. I am no such ‘employee’ and I will not stand for such accusations…” He regains his composure and steps back, but the momentary quiet is filled with the yells of guards, Sir Brodstin, and Miesha, as they all argue over a series of insults delivered by Miesha just moments ago.
Maggwyn - You reach the window. You aren’t terribly covered outside between your current location and the fence, but you see Miesha, some guards, and two people in noblemen’s attire all arguing loudly, allowing you to slip away (which you do with your Stealth Check, you could get as far as the side fence).
Kass - You block the door, preventing these suits of armor from attacking you, though they do hammer on the door. After about a minute, the attacks stop. As they stop, you see Maggwyn move towards the stairs to leave.
Kass steps away from the door gingerly, then follows Maggwyn. "Alright, Maggwyn, I am right behind you. Cat-man Jasper and Plant-man Crannoc plan to leave as well; we would do well to make haste and fly from this place!"
Crannoc - You land in the bushes on the ground outside the house. A fairly quiet landing. You see your illusion in the window still lingers, but you know that Jasper is in there, about to pick up the mace with his mage hand.
Jasper - You carefully lift the mace off of its stand. It is too heavy for your mage hand so you see as both of them descend as gracefully as they can onto the bed.
Crannoc attempts to hide in the bushes and get his bearings on the best way out and any people visible. He knows he can Misty Step again if needed but does not know if the cat-man can. And now he's not sure what is going on behind his Minor Illusion on the window.
Perhaps we are less like a pack of wolves hunting and more like a bear cub who sticks his snout into a bees' nest...
The now disguised Jasper gives up on the mage hand and goes to retrieve the mace from the bed by hand. He then moves to the window and uses his last Misty Step to join crannoc.
Jasper and Crannoc - After this whole series of investigations, the two of you are regrouped at the base of the house, hiding in a bush. Crannoc, although you saw Jasper disguise himself, it is still odd to see a gnoll with a very decadent mace appear next to you.
Kass and Maggwyn - The two of you sneak towards the fence to hop over it. Maggwyn makes it over without issue, and Kass does as well. But when Kass lands on the ground on the opposite side of the fence her armor clatters against the metal. It is noise suppressant but not quite enough for this moment. This noise lined up with the very end of the argument. You two see the dwarf silence the crowd of guards, demanding some of them go back to their posts. One guard looks curiously to the source of the sound, but the two of you had a split second to prevent anyone from seeing you, what did you do in that time that might prevent this guard from seeing you.
Miesha - A number of the guards return to their posts at the command of Sir Brodstin. He looks to you, "Thank you for your concern with all of this. I have all I need from you and will see to it that this matter is dealt with. If it is not then you will be alerted by some of my other guards and if we need your testimony again I'll send a letter. Thank you again, have a good day." He politely gestures you towards the door with the slightest of bows. You did see Kass sneaking over the fence and could assume that she would not be doing so without Maggwyn with her.
"Thank you, sir Dubstein. I had been told that the elite of the city of Wellslop would never listen to the likes of me but I am glad to see you put that rumor to rest!" Miesha says loudly while giving a bow of thanks. "My sister was afraid to come and make the complaint herself, for obvious reasons... So I travelled here once I got her letter. Right to Wellslop and to the door of Lord Dubstein, and now I trust justice will be done, sir. You are a treat indeed!"
Miesha will then give a wink to the poor guard she had accused as if to tell him that'll clear it all up. With any luck, this has all been sufficiently absurd that nobody will be held to account for any false claims, but throwing in some final misdirection cannot hurt. Assuming all are now out of the house, Miesha will turn and quickly depart the scene. In truth she is eager to get out of eyesight, hightail it back to her room, and re-don her armor. It had been so long since she was out of the Molten Bronze armor that she had forgotten what real sunlight and air on her skin and face felt like... She no longer liked it. Still, hopefully it was worth it in order to conceal her role in the whole... whatever it is.
Kass instinctually slams the door. "Maggwyn, more armor within!" She stage-whispers to her companion while trying to hold the door shut.
Kass - You slam the door and hold it shut. There is a strike on the door from the opposite side. Make an Athletics check.

((Add a 1d4 to the Sleight of Hand. Also - ok to cast 2 spells if spell on action is a cantrip like Guidance.))
Once down on the ground he tries to send another Message to the location he thought Kass' last reply came from.
"Leaving through window. Found what we could in office. Yes, armor hostile. Guards may be alerted. Suggest we slink away like foxes near wolves."

Kass' infiltrator armor is not really living up to the name, much to her frustration.

Kass instinctively dives into some nearby bushes, keeping as flat to the ground as she can to avoid being seen.
19 for more stealth, if necessary!
(Of course, I roll a nat 20 for the potentially optional skill check)
