Tibern will move closer but not fsr enough that he will leave the cover of the trees, drawing a dagger just incase he needs something to defend himself with.
Tibern makes his way around the south side of tha castle revealing a staircase leading up to a side entrance. Vandar moves to the northern side and spots a completely collapsed section of wall where one might enter the structure. Despite Vandar's less than silent approach he detects no reaction from within the castle.
I will assume that Silas is following Vandar, and Lothar is with Tibern.
Dont know where that white square came from, ignore it there is just grass there, the stairs are just north of the white square at the end of the trail.
Lothar tried to whisper to Tibern, but it came out in a gruff huff. "Not so fast! We need the others," he said as a word of caution. Too many times had they split up, and Lothar was in no mood to assault a castle with only the two of them.
OOC: I am out of pocket Jan 3-8th. I'll post when I return.
The tieflibg bard pauses and nods, his hand still tightly gripping his dagger. He will move back into the cover of the trees and wait for the rest of the party to catch up.
Between the four of you you manage to get a look at all sides of the castle before meeting back up. You see plenty of tracks and other signs that many goblins and perhaps a few other things have been in and out quite a bit recently, mostly through the front entrance. You can determine that the castle is currently occupied but you only catch glances through arrow slits or holes in the walls and can not tell how many enemies are within. As of yet there is no indication that you have been spotted.
Tibern will look to the others to see what they think would be the best plan. He would vote to sneak in but if they had to rush in he would make sure to help as well.
OOG: I don't expect to hear from Seaag until the 8th, so Lothar is going to go along with whatever the rest of the group decides. I will run him on autopilot if you get in a fight.
It seems the party is in agreement to try a stealth approach from the north. The clearing between the forest edge and the castle wall is about 40 yards across. The grass in not tended at all, it stands on average 1 to 2 ft tall and is dotted with small shrubs and spindly saplings.
If you want to sneak across the clearing you can do so by crawling and get advantage on the stealth check, but you will take longer to cross and so will need to roll 2 stealth checks. If you just want to cover the ground as fast as possible just roll a single check without advantage. Once you are against the wall you not be visible to anyone inside the castle.
(I screwed up again. There is a camouflaged canvas covering the crumbled section of the northern wall. However Vandar's perception roll was more than good enough to spot it, so no harm done there. Just know that it is not just an open hole but has sheet of heavy canvas covering it. You can easily get past the canvas.)
Tibern is all for sneaking into the castle, drawing his rapier and his shortsword thanks to the light property of his custom rapier. "Perhaps we should have kept that goblin with us to say were allies or some such."
Are you guys gonna try to cross the open ground quickly, or try to crawl through the grass? You do not see any activity through the arrow slits on this side of the building.
Like I said Lothar is gonna go with the group until Seaag gets back, so he will go with the majority here and choose to try to cover the ground quickly. To do so I just need one stealth check from each of you. I assume you are going to all go at once thus reducing the amount of time that there will be someone to spot running across the clearing.
(Vandar appears to be correct I misinterpreted what Tibern said, been pretty busy lately unfortunately not getting a lot of sleep. If you prefer the other method that's ok as well, sorry about that DD. Since that's on me I will tell you that you have so far all succeeded.)

Vandar will continue scouting around the castle until they find the others or get back to where they started.
Silas will go south and try see if he can find anything. Investigation Unable to parse dice roll.

Silas agrees "sneaking would probably be the best course of action here" looking around nervously to the others.
Vandar nods as well. "There's a collapsed section of wall on the northern side that might let us sneak in unnoticed."

(I vote we move across quickly)
(Yeah we can move quickly just to add another thought if we crawl like we are prone they will get disadvantage on ranged attack.)
Silas is all about sneaking right now. He would prefer to take it slow.

Lothar stealth check: Unable to parse dice roll.
(Did tibern really vote one way or the other? :P Said we could go quickly, but gave an argument for going slow as well :P)
Stealth: Unable to parse dice roll.
Tibern will move across as stealthly as he can, making sure to stay low.
Tibern Stealth: Unable to parse dice roll.
