Luke laughs and claps Will on his back "HaHa, don't worry I will buy you an ale with my reward money." Luke runs up ahead laughing leaving Will standing there
"Alright boys, can we focus? With you two going on, its going to take us twice as long to get there." Gerty admonishes them, but doesn't try to hide the smile as William sings his song.
Suprisingly William takes the lead and seems very jovial. We find out why, soon he takes out his flute and the sweet tune of "Girls are like apples" fill the air... the whole freaking way...
Sasha laughs and plays a short tune on her flute before countering. "Will wants us girls to mock alas his thinking not so deep but comparing him to my flock would be insulting to my sheep" She finishes with a smirk and a quick curtsy at Will.
Rikaria cackles viciously at Sasha's song, then tries one of her own.
"Ya know, Billy. I bet you've written more songs about me than any other girl in town. You must really be in love with me! But your meter's off. Try this...
Girls are all like apples, so high up in the tree
And isn't each far out of reach for a lazy dolt like me?
And I lament as I look up at the branches from the ground,
No girl would EVER talk to me if Rika weren't around!"
Shariel had kept relatively quite among the commotion. All the bickering was familiar from her own home, but none of it came her way so far. However, she felt it was time she should say something or else be confused for a straggler. "You could be a traveling minstrel if people wanted to hear a cow chew a cud. If we need to hear this the whole way and back, I may tie you off to the donkeys ass so you can talk to someone on the same level."

Gerty enjoys the banter between her friends on the way to the ranch. She doesn’t get out to see them often and they are definitely in high form today. She just smiles to herself and lets them go on.
As you round the bend just out of town, you can see the outer fence line of the Lazy Waft ranch. A large hanging sign above the entry with a huge w written on an angle, as if it is falling over swings in the gentle breeze. You are approximately 200 feet from the entry to the property. You see a large main house of two stories along with 3 smallish outbuildings behind it. To the north of the house and a few hundred feet away is a massive barn. One of the doors is slightly ajar. Next to the barn is a large, well constructed corral filled with black cattle with a white band around their middle. Quite a bit different looking animal to the dairy cows. You can see a wagon with two horses attached, filled with crates nearby, seemingly waiting patiently.
"Well, what are you waiting for, Rik? Looks like they are loading their wagon from the barn, let's go assist." Gerty starts heading toward the barn, to see how she can help them out.
( yes, you would know some of the people from the ranch. Most are likely already in town, but you would assume one or two would be required to help Ben Cartwright move the animals and goods.)
As you look and listen you only hear the sounds of birds and the nervous sounds of the cattle.
Once you get within 50’ of the barn, a murder of crows bursts into flight from a field adjacent to the barn. At least 20 crows. The sudden flight startles the horses a little and the cattle bellow a little louder.
Rikaria can't help but think it's a little strange how quiet it is, but not enough to make any kind of a big deal out of it. She simply shrugs and runs after Gerty up the road to the house.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Hey!" Shariel calls from the walk up, "We're waiting for you down the way! Mr. Cartwright, you need a few hands?!" Shariel will check the corral first, then the open barn.
((In case of Animal Handling check: 18+5. I left the mod separate in case you want a different skill, we can use the same roll.))

The cows move away as you approach, looking nervous. Continuing their bellowing noises. A few look to your hands, seeking some treat or such. Nothing out of the ordinary in the corral. You open the barn door a bit further, letting the sunlight poor into the interior. You see some chickens pecking about in the straw covered floor. There are several horse stalls, two horses eating lazily at their hay.
On the western wall there is a ladder leading into a loft area and a door. There is an unlit lantern on a hook near the door. Next to the door you entered from is a work bench with various tools strewn about in an unorganized fashion and a pallet/ bin filled with tightly bound hay bundles. You are beginning to see why it’s called the lazy waft ranch. The eastern wall is mostly filled by the horse stalls, with ropes and various pieces of tack hanging from nails. The north wall has a double door . Looks like one of the doors has a busted hinge.
Nobody answers your calls. Maybe they can’t hear you due to the noise of the antsy livestock.
William is a bit taken aback by everybody ganging up on him. Tears well up in the corners of his eyes, but they don't streaming down his cheeks just yet. He might look like boy-ish teenagers, but on the inside he's an insecure boy-ish teenager. He lashes out at Rikaria:
Boys don't fall in love with you! That's just your gravitational pull!
The rest of the trip he stays as far away as possible from the group
{flashback waves}
At this point William is still near the outer fences of the ranch. He's too busy thinking about how nobody understands him to notice that something is off.

You'll be utterly lost without me RIKA! Here's a serenade for you!
Girls are like apples on a tree, the best in the top but Rika is here with me!
But unlike the rotten apples on the ground, this one is fat and round!

Apples high in a tree
Willy reaches up for a juicy one
But falls on his ass because no girl, I mean apple, would want to deal with his lazy rear"
Rikaria gives Luke an enthusiastic high-five. "That's the winning verse, right there!"

"Well that's odd," Rikaria says, squinting ahead. "You'd think everyone would be out and about, getting ready! Are they all out back, maybe?"
Rikaria would try and listen for voices somewhere out of sight.

(Would we know much about how many people would likely be at the ranch, between family and hired hands and what not?)
