Pud climbs back up the stairs, heading toward the balcony. The upstairs bedroom remains vacant.
Matilda unlocks the kitchen door and heads out. (Does she close the oven door or leave it open, first?) She can see the four dead redcaps scattered across the toadstool patch, a couple covered in boggle oil.
Ben and Horatio remain in the kitchen, standing over the large dollhouse, where it fell onto the kitchen floor. (It is unbroken.)
Will hops down and approaches Cradlefall. "He won't stay asleep long,"he whispers to Titaani.
Titaani approaches the awakened tree and rocking horse, who continue to block the approach to the door into the portrait room. "No entry," booms the tree.
Taking a break from rummaging through the cabinets in the kitchen (did he find anything else?), Ben responds, “Call if you find her and she needs help. I’ll keep looking for anything useful in here.”

Once Pud reaches Granny’s room he darts for the window and surveys the land for any sign of Titaani.
IF he sees her (I’m assuming he’d see Will as well. ) Pud whistles and waves his hands to get their attention and yells “hey! Titaani…Will….Up here! We found….I mean Ben and Horatio found us! They’re safe. Will, lead Titaani through the creek to this side.”
Pud will then proceed to search Granny’s room. He’ll look under the bed and check any shelving. He’s particularly interested in the ornamental pigs. He’ll lift them and shake them gently, listening for anything moving inside. He’ll get a feel for the weight of each one to see if any on in particular feels heavier than the other.

Horatio would remind the others, "Take anything metal you can carry. We'll need it..."
He pauses, looking at the unnaturally hot oven, then around at the building itself.
"We've got it all wrong. Let's take over this building. Let's capture it. We'll have to beat Chucklehead, then make him swear to work for us so he keeps the Goblin merchants in line... But we can clear out that big tee, the Dragon, the tin soldiers, the Redcaps... All of it. The kids will have beds and food, we'll be able to work with the merchants for supplies and information... I'll forge us everything we need right here." He motions to the fire.
"When she comes back, we will have fortified this place, and trapped it. We can lure her with it, using Will's hideaway as a fallback. What do you guys think?"
Titaani and Will turn and walk carefully toward the river. The tree and the rocking horse remain where they are and do not try to advance. Cradlefall remains asleep for the moment. Matilda climbs up atop the log and is able to see this scene below her.
Ben begins to look again through the kitchen. He finds no more weapons nor armor, just a lot of pots, pans, kitchen implements, and cookbooks (Matilda already took two of these.) There are six brass egg cups embossed with the faces of crying children, an ornate eight-minute hourglass, and a moldy wooden coffer labeled in an unknown language. (Looking inside, Ben finds it contains two types of mushrooms.) And, of course, a cauldron of bubbling candy atop the oven.
Meanwhile, Pud crosses through Granny's bedroom. From the balcony window, he can see Matilda clambering by, but Titaani and Will are just out of view, so he sees nothing of them. Returning to the bedroom to fully search it, he finds that the ornamental pigs seem like ordinary children's toys. The rocking cradle is painted with images of green dragons, but contains only a folded, threadbare blanket. There is nothing under the bed. For a witch's bedroom, it seems surprisingly mundane.
Horatio remains near the open oven. He can see a hint of a face in the flames within, together with a pair of eyes, as if the fire was some sort of distinct entity.
"Ooo," responds Squirt to Horatio's bold idea, "That sounds like fun! Squeeze me some more boggles, too!" The little oil can bounces up and down in the air. "Then we can go from Thither to Yon!"
”That actually sounds like a reasonable idea, Horatio, provided we can defeat all the hag’s forces and the kids feel safe coming back here,” responds Ben.
“We need to find what each of us has lost too, and I think some of that is nearby. What do you suggest we do first once we all get back together?” asks Ben.

"Arm everyone with javelins - I can make those with supplies from the workshop. Then prepare oil flasks and several torches. We light that tree monster and the rocking horse on fire. The tree will probably make for the river, and while he's distracted we all attack the Dragon all at once with the javelins, then finish the tree off. If we can manage all that, we can lure the Redcaps in small groups through a chockepoint, like a doorway. Then the tin soldiers. If we're in good shape still, then we go grab Chucklehead. The trick is, we cannot take on any two at a time. We have to isolate them each and stagger our attacks. Numbers will win, so we need to always outnumber whoever we fight.
For Titaani and Will to climb up to Matilda, she will need to walk toward Loomlurch perpendicularly to the doorway that the tree and the rocking horse are guarding. Doing so might provoke them. If Titaani wants to carefully try to walk toward the log and climb up to Matilda in a non-threatening way that won't provoke a fight, she should make a Persuasion check.

He spots the guys milling about the kitchen amongst a growing pile of equipment. "Whoa! Looks like you guys had better luck than me! Find anything weird?..." Pud pauses mid thought, groaning in discomfort, while digging his fist into his hip as if trying to work out a knot. "I'm kinda looking for something...a little outta the ordinary."

She begins trying to climb up the outside of the ' house' to see if she can see her sister.
"Fine!" Titaani says with an angry huff. "Be like that, then. I have better things to do anyway."
She turns to leave with a scowl. "Let's go, Will."

Alas, the dollhouse will not open. No matter how hard you pull on the hinged roof, it refuses to budge.
"Hmm... Guess we'll just have to open ot the other way." As he speaks, Horatio pulls a prybar and hammer from his bag.
