"Here we go again..." Ethan mutters as he violently keeps his distance from the hideous creature and fires off You know what... Maybe he should use something other than some baseballs that won't return, just for creativity...

Actually you know what... As he again whispers some words... BA: Hex (The creature is dealt an extra 1d6 necrotic damage with each hit and has disadvaatage on DEX Saving throws; The target has disadvantage on ability checks made with the chosen ability.)

"Why the hell you hablo Espanol you idiot?! That aside, GET BACK!" Randy yells as he gets in front of any teammates standing in his way whilst he... Fires his flamethrower as well as three Magma orbs like a rocket battery.

Reaction: "Hey Bunny Boy! I got your back!" Randy yells as he points at him and his Flash of Genius kicks in  (Oli adds +3 to his CON saving throw)

Oli is able to dodge the tentacles (AC 17) but while dodging them, the bite lands on his leg. He uses Uncanny Dodge to reduce the damage of the bite to half. "Didn't think it would go for a bite before it hit with its tentacles. Thanks for the help. How long does your spell last by the way?" Oli asks Randy.

"What? You mean My Flash of Genius? Next save you make! And its not a spell!" Randy tells him.

An assault continued by Ethan and Randy brings down the crawler, who shrieks as it falls into the fetid water of the canal. 

<you guys want to check the corpses?>

"Well uh... that was fast? Was expecting it to be a little bulkier..." Ethan remarks a little stunned, since he has never had such quick fights before he walks up to the corpses and inspects them. Investigation: 7

(If it hasn't been 1 hour and another creature tries to attack the group out of nowhere, Ethan can instantly use his BA to place hex on that creature)

Among the corpses in littering the crawler's nest, you find a frost brand great sword [alt +1 short sword] and potion of flying [alt invisibility] plus 17pp in a cloth purse.

"Do you suppose this is what was causing all the problems? Or should we keep exploring for something else as the cause?"

Trisk lowers his arms realizing that he doesn't need to cast a spell since his allies have taken down the creature quite handily.

Lookong over the corpses, you see they have been thoroughly picked apart, but this den is not were they were killed.  The tracks in the mud make it clear that the bodies were dragged from somewhere deeper in the canal.  Sam and others know that in addition to being an ambush predator, the carrion crawler is more commonly a scavenger, eating the scraps left of kills made by other creatures, or victims of the environments they inhabit.

Do you follow the tracks?

tetrevess will search the bodies quickly to see if they have anything of interest or that moght identify them, but then he proposes we follow the tracks

Sam see the body and the creature they just killed whilst picking up the frost brand greatesword “this greater is a scavenger in nature something else must of killed these lot” 

"Maybe by following the creature's tracks it will lead us to the real culprit or at least where it found these bodies and there might be more clues there."

Trisk follows the others as they begin tracking, taking up a position somewhere near the middle of the marching order.

Am I *missing anyone?  Is the galven magen with the party? Any other followers? Marching order looks OK?

at this point you see Sam jump in to the river “you lot stay up top I’ve got down here I’ll keep close to the surface just incase you lot run into something or one unfriendly to us”

Tetrevess’ galven magen is not with the party.  (it is back at the flying city, managing tetrevess’ affairs).  Tetrevess has his manifest mind manifested.(  He has an owl familiar as well but it is rarely  “out”- always in familiar pocket dimension while adventuring)
