As Sparhawk and Bjorn approach the alley, the spy leaps up and say " what in BLAZES? You're not supposed to be here..." after which he bolts down the alley and disappears into a side alley between houses. You have never quite seen someone move that fast before and suspect maybe some kind of enchantment at work.
(I will finish the map quickly so you can see the scenario. Probably only Frangipani would have a chance of catching up to him, depending on the cat movement speed)
(If seeing this Sorsha would use Expeditious Retreat to try and catch up with the spy.)
Can Sparhawk do an opportunity attack prior to him escaping ( when he jumps out?)
(Perhaps we could go into initiative to settle this?)
Vars curses under his breath, but quickly silenced himself. Turning his attention back to the spy, he tries to determine if their target noticed. If he did, then Vars will break trying to hide and instead try to act like he was looking for something in the garbage. Hopefully fooling the spy into ignoring him.

Vars leaps up and quickly chases the spy down the road, abandoning any attempt to be stealthy and instead focusing on speed. He’s hoping to at least get an idea of where the target is going.
Dex check: 7

You could make it to the same distance you were from him, approx 15’ behind him if you cast the spell
actually, I forgot you went around the back of the house and around so you would end up about 30’ away since the spell is essentially a dash
You could make it to approx mid alley in front of Sparhawk and Bjorn
Okay, Vars will try to move around the house the other direction in attempt to get in front of the spy or at least get a better view down the large gaps in the houses.
Depending on the situation Sorsha would instead use her silent image to summon a wall of writhing tentacles at the end of an alley, trapping the spy as the crew comes from the other end.
Down the alley, first right..it’s little
(Oh, now I see it. Well then Sorsha definitely would like to throw up that 15'x15' wall of writhing slimy tentacles at the end of that alley, trapping the spy, hopefully long enough for us to catch up with him.)
If the spy gets trapped by the tentacles and there is an opportunity where he is cornered, Sparhawk would talk to the man and say, "Friend, we mean you no harm. Just have a few questions for you. You have my word my friends and I won't harm you." PERSUASION (role if needed)
If it doesn't make sense or there is not an opportunity, he'll advance but look for additional spys: Perception if needed.
[Did I get a good enough look at this runner to be able to Disguise my Self as him? Also, is the ground out here soft enough to show footprints?]
