"Book's got spells in it. Now, I might not be, how d'ye say, formally trained, but I were still able to cast one, so maybe I've got a natural predisposition." He grins. "Don't worry, ye won't see me studying in no ivory tower, losin' touch with my expertly honed sense of worldly ethics like all the other wizards we've met."
Bjorn helps with the rearrangement of gear. (I've got only 4.5 pounds left in my own bag. It's packed pretty tight. Can carry 40 more pounds no problem, plus the weight of the actual chest probably, but somebody else is gonna have to handle the light. My hands will be full.) "What happened to 'let's not touch the probably cursed treasure'? If we're takin' this cursed stuff, we ought to just take all the cursed stuff, right?"
You head through the unlocked door and see there is about 40’ that ends in a t-intersection to the right and left. Just like the hexagon room, these hallways are iron plated and unadorned. There is a low level lighting here with no visible source.
As you move down the right hallway you can see the surface of the walls has lots of scratching and dents in the iron surface. There are bits of hair/ skin and eithe4 bone or horn fragments s also here and there. The hallway goes on for approximately 60’ before turning to the left
As you round the corner to the left you see it is a very long hallway, more than 80’ for sure, that again has a left turn at the end. In the center of the hallway on the left side is a pair of doors that are bashed open, leading to a chamber 50’x80’ that is made of stone like the other parts of the tower.
"Lets take a look inside this chamber. We have two goals. First, get out of this accursed place. Second, acquire any more evidence as to Abernaths whereabouts, but my first priority is primary for us."
(Does Sparhawk feel any discomfort due to the items in his bag he carries on the 10 ft poll so far?)
"We're gonna rotate who carries this bag. We will change every few minutes. Eberk, Lir, Frangipani, Bjorn, myself."
"Remember, Abernath seems fond of illusionary fake walls and secret doors in things so keep alert for those." (I.E. Some Perception checks)
(Will still rotate who holds the pole with bag every few minutes on rotation above. PC can put down if we run into anything. Sparhawk is half hoping that Lir or Frangipani will misplace it.) As they are investigating the room, Sparhawk, with gloved guantlets and careful to not touch the hands and necklace and book, will also remove any other items from the bag and redistribute them to his companions: Crowbar, hammer, piton, rope, tinderbox, torch, waterskin, Antitoxin, 2x potions of healing.
As Sparhawk fishes into the bag, he will notice the root-like structures at the severed ends of the arm have grown longer and are embedding into the books grotesque leather cover. He notices the leather seems to be made of someone’s face, and one of the potions of healing has a different color than before.
The wall across from the double doors has several diagrams drawn on fine parchment hung in frames. They look to be architectural drawings of the tower and a map of sorts.
[Does Bjorn understand anything about what's going on with the book?]
Bjorn can fit the tinderbox and 3 more torches into his bag. The antitoxin and potions don't have listed weight, but if they're less than half a pound they'll also fit. Everything else is too heavy lol.

( from flipping through the pages you know the information you seek could probably be sussed out within the book, but that would require time)
(and we haven't opened the third, right, but I'm also getting a (dont' take it vibe)

(Lir's already full up from the loot in the boat).
“Yeah, I’m pretty much ready ta go but not gonna stop you if you grab something. Leaving in 1”
He takes no treasure from the chests
Sparhawk starts heading for the unlocked door with the bag attached to his pole.
if he starts to feel feel nauseated, he’ll drop bag and pole.

A few quick perception checks and keep moving right.

“Let’s keep moving. Get ready for more of our pitch forked friends “
Lir attempts to identify the type of creature by the traces of hair and bone that passed before them.
Survival: 18
It is difficult for Lir to tell for sure from the small samples, but he is fairly certain it is from the formerly caged critters

“Hum, the arms are growing into the book. I see a face!”
Sparhawk, not easily surprised throws the bag down.
“it’s either gonna become another construct or …any chance it’s Abernath?”
Sparhawk is inclined to light the bag on fire

(Eberk can take the contents of the bag.)
“Abernath or not, those things are evil. We need to destroy them.” Eberk puts his shield on his back and prepares to smash it with his hammer.
