Then he attacks the nearest Mud Mephit with his heated scimitar - to hit 12
Damage 8 + fire damage 1
Lir’s heated scimitar makes short work of the injured Mephit and it explodes in a heap of mud.
it is late afternoon and the Sun is blazing. As you survey the area to ensure no more elemental beings or other creatures of doom are nearby, you see some volcanic meteors sailing through the air and impacting around various parts of the valley. Sort of a surreal landscape of mud, ash, and steam.
Sparhawk, clearing away the mud from his face and eyes and flicking some mud off his long sword, "Yes, lets clear out of this area and find shelter to rest a bit and heal. Those things were..not much fun to deal with. I sort of preferred the giant lizard."

You continue on your trek, keeping the ash covered lake to your right. The valley is truly a wasteland. Occasionally at a far off distance you can see Mephits rise up in small groups and then disappear again. Occasionally a bird of some sort will fly over, or more burning boulders from the many flaming mountain tops that encircle the valley. Finally a small breeze picks up giving a little relief from the heat, but not much.. you have journeyed about another 6 miles at a cautious pace, for which you were rewarded by evading several patches of quick sand. You find a semi-protected space in the form of a half circle mound of dirt and boulders.

" We move on now?"
"The volcano's spewing monsters. Eyes up." Bjorn, drenched in cold water, grabs his axes from the debris. "They're not gonna stop. We need cover."
