High times at low tides

"What a basic design... I wounder if I can improve the design. May I have one Ban? Also I got something for you to open let's go." Xander will head back to his quarters with Ban to open the briefcase.

"Ooh" , She says as she takes a look at them. "I think these could come in handy!", She adds as she stuffs one on each of her sides and deposits the two horns in a pouch. Taking a firm stance, Ban reaches to her sides, rapidly unsheathes the new items and pretends to fire at Xander in a dramatic over the top motion.

"You want one? Go ahead. I can see these babies doing some good work. Something requiring my specialty? Well, let's go take a look then." As if noticing the newcomers for the first time, she'll nod in their direction and ask, "Who are they?"

"Some captives Raphael saved..." Xander will continue to head to his quarters grabbing the case and showing it to Ban "I haven't tried to open yet thought it might have traps..."

Grol, Mozu replies back in Orcish 

 Krunchy hears the commotion on deck and comes up to see the pistols, "Ooh I might be able to smith something like this some day!" He grabs one with a powder horn, ammo, and stuffs it in his pants.

Ban, you find no traps, but fail to unlock it. However, with your roll you feel the rusted container has a very intricate locking mechanism that was not designed by orcs. When you give it a knock with your knuckles, you can tell from the sound and vibration that it contains something heavy and solid.

Xander will open his chest pulling out a crowbar "Well if it's not trap then will this work?" Passing the crowbar to Ban.

Milo is fascinated by the conversations between the crew and the former slaves. And finds it particularly amusing how Mozu and Grol seem to make a new friendship. At least that's how he thinks orcs make friends. He doesn't understand a word.

After Grol and  Mozu spoke together, he takes the lead "New individuals with new stories! This jorney is becoming more and more interesting! My name is Milo Honeytongue. I am a musician and storyteller and you all seem to have experienced a lot. Maybe we can have a quiet talk these days. I want to know everything about you! I will add you in my great story and everyone will know your names. Well... maybe I need to change your names. I mean, Mozu doesn't exactly sound like a good name...it just gives the wrong impression of you. You have to know..."

As always, Milo seems to fall into his typical flood of words.

Just to be completely clear, there is a keyhole.

Milo, Mozu says "My name is Mozu the Chosen, and that's it."

The human female says, "My name is Canary, if you aren't going to kill me, or worse, may I remove this damned collar?" (It is locked and rusted shut)

The half-orc says, "ME OG! OG SMASH!"

As you're all fumbling around with the chests, Malon comes up to the main deck and says, "We should probably bury the two sailors. It's can potentially be very demoralizing to have their bodies lying around and not doing anything about it. Though it's up to you all."

Why don't we continue towards this island? Raphael suggests. Bury them there.

Xander will take the briefcase on the top deck seeing the other still conversing Xander will ask Raphael if he seen any key before blowing the lock "Hey, Raphael I was curious if you found any kind of key on the ship, I found this briefcase but it won't open. Even Ban had a crack at it and she couldn't open it, I plan on blowing it with the small amount of powder but if you found something we can skip that..." 

"Oh, yeah!" Raphael pulls out the key and holds it to the lock. "I found this on their cap!"

Walking back up with Xander and seeing the key to the lock, Ban states "Hey, hey! I bet it's something worth keeping safe. That lock seems to be fairly complex."

Malon says, "I don't mean to be insensitive, but their bodies may be pretty foul and possibly spread disease by then. I haven't been on ships for long, but it's tradition to bury sailors at sea. That's probably what they would want. It doesn't need to be anything extravagant, just a sign of respect, but it's up to you all. If you wish I can handle most of the preparations. A-Anyway, I need to check on Quint."

She begins to walk below deck, but pinches her nose shut when walking past Raphael.

Raphael holds up the key and an awful smell permeates from it. You can easily see the key will easily fit in the lock.

Let's see what's in this baby! He opens it up.

You stick the key inside the lock and turn it. You hear a click and it unlocks. The key then crumbles away like dust in the wind as the container opens. Xander's keen senses found the false bottom of the hull where this was stored, and you have him to thank, for you all hit the jackpot.

Inside you find 5 large bars of pure platinum worth roughly 3,500g total. After the cut for the crew and for ship upkeep, you estimate your take to be around 2,500g total. The only problem is actually selling them. No mere merchant or shop keeper will have that kind of money on them.

On the center each bar is an emblem of a hammer and anvil chiseled into it with a unique serial number (different for each bar) chiseled at both ends.

Milo, Og says "You want Og story??"

Grol, Mozu says to you in Orcish

Milo looks Og with bright eyes "Sure, that would be great Mister Og! I'm sure you have a great story to tell! " 

when he hears he's getting a story told, Milo forgets everything around him. He unpacks his little notebook and sits down with the former slaves, ignoring all noises and conversations around him.
