Xander, you head to Sick Bay in the middle deck, weaving past the flurry of activity of sailors moving all throughout the ship. The woman inside, a half-elf with long golden hair and quite blessed in her figure, blushes slightly and says "Oh...well I could certainly use an assistant as there's no one qualified on the ship. Y-yes, please by all means familiarize yourself. (She watches as you demonstrate that you know what you're doing) "O-Oh my, you certainly have skillful hands. My name is Malon Liaberos. I look forward to working with you." (Success)
Ban, you pull on an empty spoke and the chain starts winding around the bottom of the wheel column much faster. The anchor comes up and the line is secured. (Success) The man who taunted you says, "Nicely done, I guess you aren't useless like the rest of this lot. Glad you're on board madam. The name's Brody." He is quite burly with short brown hair and has several scars on his muscular arms and legs as if he's seen action at sea for a while.
Raphael, the gulls (6 of them) all land on the Crow's Nest around the circular railing and begin cleaning their feathers with their beaks and tilt their heads slightly sideways looking at you when you mimic their calls.
With the physical labor done, Ban will dust off her hands and hop up on one of the spokes. Seated comfortably, she responds with a head nod and wink. "You did say to prove it. My name is Ban. Pleasure, I'm sure. Now that the hard work is all done, got any tips for the new at sea?"
OOC: It appears I'm too slow to do anything in this roleplay...
The helm still needs doing, no one had taken that.
OOC: Armyl would be helpless helming a ship- He doesn't know enough about ships. He's best suited doing strength-based things, not intelligence-based things.
OOC: Please refer to our OOC PM group. I also mentioned turning the wheel is STR based twice. All you're doing is avoiding crashing into the next dock, plus the navigator assistant Hooper is at the helm as well to tell you where to go. Please keep non-game related OOC in the PM thread.
Xander, Malon blushes even more and says, "It certainly appears so...I'm...certain that will come in handy. So...what are you looking to accomplish at sea?"
Ban, Brody says, "And you certainly proved it, that you did. It normally would have taken another person to assist you as well. Tips? Don't fall off!" He and the crew tying down the anchor chain laugh. "But in all seriousness, just stay alive, learn by observation and then by doing. And don't get thrown overboard for freeloading or excessively angering the Captain. So what's your story? What brings you on board?"
As Armyl and Hooper try to turn the ship, you aren't able to turn the wheel quickly enough as you quickly approach the next dock. Impact is imminent. (Failure)
Quint runs up to the wheel to help turn it, as everyone else is assisting elsewhere or in a different part of the ship, Hooper cries to Grol, "Please help us up here!"
Upon hearing the yelling, Ban takes all the energy she can muster, jumps off the spoke with her feet horizontally, and make a mad dash to the helm. Taking her best shot to get a grip on the rapidly spinning grips. My24
Ban is trying her best to minimize damage, if at all possible. Planting her feet on the deck, really straightening her back and bending in all the appropriate ways indicative of those with a high dexterity and near mastery of her own body. ooc: She has 19 Dex
Surely Raphael would have seen this coming sooner than I've had time to reply hahaha.
He will dash down, leaping from the crows nest and swooping down to help with the wheel if needed. (I'll let you make the call on this one DM) Otherwise, he'll attempt to warn any people on the dock by flying (dashing) down.

”Look out! Get out of the way! We didn’t name the boat, this is what happens!”
As Milo heard the Call from Hooper to Grol, he shouts "Grol, you can make it! Give your best, you have Orc blood in you!".
OOC: Milo use one of his Bardic Inspiration. Grol would have had 1d6 to roll extra to his check and add the result to it. (sry, couldn't react earlier...was sleeping ^^)
Grol, with your initial roll and with assistance from Armyl, you both help Hooper go left full rudder. Ban nearly makes it to the helm with Raphael not far behind and Milo inspires you in the briefest of moments. Quint yells, "Left Full Rudder! Evasive action!" Grol and Armyl, you both use all of your might to help Hooper hold the helm in place as you just barely miss the dock. However, there are a few dock workers who gasp then laugh at your near misfortune. (Success)
The few sea gulls on the Crow's Nest scatter, but fly back to the Nest after the ship stops swaying back and forth. The sailors on the ship sigh in relief and Hooper puts his hands on the helm and slouches over it in relief. Ballast shifts back to the center and the ship stabilizes. The activity on the ship calms down as everyone recovers from the near impact and sailors go back to their normal duties. One starts vomiting over the starboard rail into the ocean from all the sudden, erratic movements.
Quint says, "Definitely bad luck to sail without a name. Destination: the unmarked island. Rudder amidships, steady as she goes." One of the sailors rings the bell on the bridge inacknowledgement.
Hooper says to Grol and Armyl, "Oh boy, thank you both very much. I normally don't take the helm. The name is Hooper, as you probably guessed." He nods in appreciation to everyone else who intended to help.
Xander, Malon loses her balance and falls on top of you after breaking her fall. She shrieks back to her feet in embarrassment and becomes laser focused on a medical book that she holds upside down in clear avoidance.
You all do minor jobs on the ship as you navigate through Black Root Bay, past the breakers, and pass by the lighthouse on the edge of the bay. The wind picks up slightly and the air smells of more salt as you reach the open ocean and Black Root fades off the horizon. As you sail SE, you see schools of fish, random birds flying by the Crow's Nest that seem confused at the sea gulls nestled on the railing, and blue waters with white sea foam as far as the eye can see while the ship bobs up and down from the bow as you navigate through the swells. There appear to be no other ships in the area.
Raphael
Raphael, the gulls are still perched on the Nest railing. They appear to be there indefinitely and look as if they want to mate with you.
After a few hours, it is early evening and Krunchy prepares a meal of fried fish with malt vinegar, fried potatoes, some carrots, and sliced lemon on the side with your choice of ale or rum. The meal is actually pretty decent and you all gather in the galley to eat with Quint and the rest of the officers (Brody, Hooper, and Malon). They introduce themselves if they didn't on the ship earlier. Quint congratulates you all on surviving your first day at sea and for doing a good job during the day. (You all may RP with whomever at this point if you wish and I will post responses later)
Milo, Hooper appears to be interested in your instruments and any potential stories since he is the more intellectual type.
Xander and Ban:
You both notice that Krunchy's cooking has improved greatly since you last saw him. At least for this meal.
(After dinner)
Finishing up with dinner, Malon gives you all a strong, but pleasant tasting root. She says with a blush, "I-If you feel nauseated then break off a small piece and chew on it. You should adjust to life on a ship soon. There's enough there to last a week." You all go to your respective cabins and the regular crew takes turns with watches during the night. Long Rest
During the night you have a little trouble sleeping since it's rougher and noiser at sea. You all may crack a porthole in your cabins if you feel nauseated to help alleviate it.
Waking up in the morning, you eat a quick breakfast of hardtac, tea with lemon, sliced tomato, and bacon. As you finish you all hear calls from the main deck that a ship is on the horizon to the East...
Milo, Hooper appears to be interested in your instruments and any potential stories since he is the more intellectual type.
During dinner Milo uses the time to get to know the crew a little better. Meanwhile he always starts to make small juggling interludes with cutlery and whatever else he finds.
Acrobatic: 10
After dinner, he uses the time to keep talking to people. He tells little stories and is always asking questions. He notices that Hooper is especially interested in his stories "So you haven't heard from Gilbert either? We must change that..."
Milo goes to a place where everyone can see him well. "My friends, I've heard that some of you have never heard of gilbert Wanderlust. And since the evening is coming to an end I will tell you another story so that you can go to bed afterwards. This time I'll tell you the story of how Gilbert adopted a prince without wanting to..." He tells how the little Gilbert, after defeating the dragon and saving the king's daughter, got a wish from the king. Since gold was not so important for Gilbert and he loved surprises, he offered the king to take what the king at home will surprise most. The King agreed because he thought he would make a good deal with it. When they came home and had saved the daughter, the queen received her husband full of love. She was overjoyed that her daughter was rescued. And then she gave the good news: She was pregnant with a son! His future heir. The King was totaly surprised, but instead of falling into joy, the king went to the ground and began to weep. Because he knew: That's what he had to give to Gilbert. "you should always be careful when you make promises." Milo stops talking and silence spreads through the room. Then suddenly Milo smiles and enthusiastically says out loud, "But today I am making you a promise that I will keep: We'll have a lot of fun on this ship...on the Thruth's Tenacity!!!! Let's drink to it!"
Performance: 11
This time too, Milo uses his "Minor Illusion" to show sounds and still images. However, the wobbly ship seems to get a little bogged down, so that the performance was good, but not outstanding as it was in the tavern the other day.
Next morning Milo will enjoy his breakfast, hoping that the Crew is on a good mood after the show last night. After that he will go straight to the top deck to find out what's causing so much excitement.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As Xander eat "This is pretty good Krunchy, you've gotten better since the last time we ate." Xander raises his glass in the name of the new ship.
As we begin to go our separate ways Xander will pull the Captain Quint to the side "Captain, I... I had a request if it's too dangerous I understand, there are many lives on this ship besides my own and I know this is your ship. I am sure you know of the Isles of Despair a slaver island where slaves are sold. You see as a child my family was slaughter by bandits and some of them were taken as slaves. I made it my mission to find them and I tracked them down this far. It's one of the reasons why I got that letter. I just want to know if we could ever make a trip... I don't know just keep it on your mind please."Xander leaves the Captain and heads for his room with Ban and falls asleep. During the night Xander tosses and turn as the ship waves through the water.
Getting up in the morning he will grab some food and head to the navigation room and begin working.
Insight: 19
Once he finishes up on his maps and hears the call on the main deck he will head up the main deck. As the ship comes closer Xander would like to make a perception check.
At dinner, Ban will find a good central seat. Pleasantly surprised at the food, "Hey Krunch, you're getting better with age. This stuff is delicious!" Turning to Brody, "So uh, what're some good ship duties that don't require much physical labour? Speaking of..." She'dlike to address the others. "Maybe it's best if we all decide on specific tasks. We had a rough go at it earlier..."
During the evening, Ban can be found on the main deck, leaning on a side and watching the water. As for how she's doing with her newfound sea legs, she's likely adjusting, if not taking it slow as a precaution. Since she only needs to trance for four hours instead of full on sleep, she'll go to bed early, get up, and work on her disguises in her kit. With Xander tossing and turning, she'll put her blanket on him in hopes he'll sleep better.
Hearing news of another ship, and knowing we're off treasure hunting, she'll scoop up what's left of her breakfast in her arms and eat leisurely as she walks up to get a better look. Perception: 14 Crunching through a mouthful of hardtac, she'll muffly ask Xander what he sees.
Raph stays up in the crows nest until sundown, sketching wildlife and the scenery before heading back down stairs to chat with the crew and his travelling companions, giving a few cheeky remarks to Grol referring to his sea legs and the helm.
"SHIP AHOY!" He calls, as he spots another ship on the horizon. He nods to the captain, xander and ban before soaring out over the ocean to possibly get a better look.

As you juggle some cutlery and a few lemons, Quint and Brody aren't really particularly interested, but Malon pays attention with a slight smile and Hooper tries to imitate you 1 and fails miserably.
While telling your tale, Quint and Brody perk up a little bit more as it seems they're more receptive to tales whether exaggerated or true. You can tell Malon particularly enjoys stories of damsels in destress so enjoys most of it until hearing the King gave away his child when her expression changes from happiness to slight confusion, "That was an... interesting story. I enjoyed the imagery." Hooper appears to be completely emotionally invested and loves the illusions, "A splendid tale and with a twist!"He appears to write down "...never make a promise you can't keep..." in a journal. Upon hearing the ships name, Quint perks up and says, "Truth's Tenacity eh? Hmm...I do like the alliteration. Very well, so be it. A drink for the Truth's Tenacity." Brody says, "Not a bad name, I've heard worse."Malon says, "It sounds nice I suppose." Hooper says, "Brilliant name!" And they all join and take a drink.
