Krunchy greatly appreciated the compliment and says, "Oh you really think so?! I've had a lot of time to practice and being on ships gives me access to ingredients I can never get on land! Here, I made a new drink a few weeks ago. it's called Beholder's Bane in honor our first adventure together! Once again the culinary gods have brought a sign of favor since you're here now!"He hands you a bottle of it and goes back to his duties in the kitchen, forks and spoons rattling on his armor as he walks.
You can tell by the smell that it's definitely not safe to drink at all, however, with your insight you can easily tell this could work as an improvised bomb and should be treated with great care.
As you finish dinner and talk to Quint privately, he says, "Isle of Despair? Yes, I know of it. I'm sorry to hear about your family's fate—a terrible tragedy by the sounds of it. Some may be alive as slaves you say? As it turns out, I understand your feelings and we both have reasons to go there. The reason why I came out of retirement is because my son was allegedly sold as a slave after being captured by the Dernholm navy and may be on the same island. That's where I intend to go after stopping by the mystery island. If there's treasure to be had, then the crew and probably some of your group needs an extra payday to keep them happy. I promise we'll go there immediately after that, you have my word on that. Just please keep my son being captured to yourself, please."
With your Insight roll, you are able to plot your position accurately on the map by using the navigation tools and with Hooper assisting. You determine that you're still on course for the island. (Success)
Xander looks at the bottle and shakes his head in a agreeing matter "Thanks I was looking for something stronger than my moonshine I got." Xander being used to Krunchy's drinks over the past few months will keep it close.
To Captain Quint "I understand Captain, thank you."

Krunchy thanks you very enthusiastically and says, "I'm so happy that I got to see Xander and yourself again, what a joyous circumstance! Yes, sailors tend to work up an appetite and there's so many odd ingredients at sea, I get to cook all the time! So happy you enjoyed it. Here, you can have a bottle of Beholder's Bane as well!"He also gives you a bottle.
With your background and knowledge of black market goods, you can tell the liquid inside was infused with some dangerous, highly combustible agent and is not wise to drink it.
As you finish talking to Brody, he says "Well, the job of a lookout is not very labor intensive, as long as your vision is keen. The Nest can comfortably hold 2 people and it seems we only have 1. Navigating is pretty straight forward, but that job can be attended to as needed and Xander seems to be decent at it. We also still need a Deck Boss, someone to take orders from the captain and make sure we all carry them out appropriately, or give orders yourself if you see something that needs immediate action. You would also need to dictate strategy in combat. Captain Quint can't be in two places at once. You would also be responsible for running the ship in the Captain's stead, should that need arise. If you're have knowledge if it, then sending coded messages to another ship or location is another task that may pop up occasionally... it seems we have a small flock of gulls that made a home in the Crow's Nest for some reason. My personal opinion is you should be the Boss then fill in where you see fit. You 'motivated' us at the anchor and backed it up so you would have my vote, and most of the crew I might add."
He pauses and continues, "It probably would be best if your group decided on who does what as their main job to avoid confusion. It's good to be skilled in every role, but only if needed in emergency."
As you both look towards the East, you can tell the ship was moving away, but now appears to be turning.
Raphael (I will say if anyone is in the Crow's Nest and if visibility is Excellent, then you have advantage on Perception. I will assume you flew up to the Crow's Nest in this particular case.)
You look to the East and see the ship is black from either paint or pitch, and is indeed turning, but directly at the Truth's Tenacity on an intercept course.
Quint calls out from mid deck, "Oi! What do you see?" to anyone actively looking to the horizon.
"Krunch, I'm touched. Really. I couldn't drink this without just the perfect moment, ya know? For a lifetime event, really.. Maybe you could come with us ashore as scouts to the islands in search of treasure and one of a kind herbs?" She'll hold it in a showing fashion, but then put in both hands on the table with a sly smile.
As Brody speaks, Ban will think about it the entire time, definitely interested and enthused. "That sounds like something right up my alley. I feel like I'm adept a multi-skills and, with the right direction, help achieve glory, victory, and above all, treasure! First course of action, if nominated? Mandatory meeting after hours. Drinks and card games on me!" She punctuates the end with a fist straight up in the air.
Now at the current events, "Captain, there's a ship turning about starboard! Anyone else?", she shouts out.
ooc: crap, thought I had quoted the other post. My bad.
Krunchy says, "Oh, yes a splendid idea! Yes, please save it for the right time. Quint may allow me to come ashore if someone can convince him. He has before so I can get my hands on some rare ingredients to cook, but never let's me leave if we are at port somewhere...I wonder why? Oh, well no matter! I don't really care much for treasure though so I let the crew have my share, as long as I can afford basic necessities. I'm so glad you two are on board! I hope your other friends are friendly, Milo appears to be!"
Brody says, "Aye, treasure and some gambling! A fine combination!" as he joins you in putting a fist in the air. Several sailors passing by who overheard the last bit join in with an "Aye!" in unison.

Xander you successfully climb up to the Crow's Nest, seeing it is black and turning to intercept. Raphael after you communicate the ship's color and the obvious hostile maneuvering, Quint's eyes widen slightly.
Quint squints his eyes and says, "Pirates." After a momentary pause he draws his rapier and points it upwards then continues, "Battle stations! All hands on deck! Man the cannons, helm prepare for evasive action, repair crew stand by!"The crew scrambles to their places, 5 going to the bottom deck for repairs led by Hooper, 5 act as supply train from the bottom deck to the main deck led by Malon, and the other 20 led by Brody assist on deck with loading and aiming the cannons along with maintaining the rigging and sails.
He continues, "Show them no quarter, for you shall receive none!"He looks towards Ban, "Ban you're acting Deck Boss. Engage and fire at-will!"
As Truth's Tenacity and pirate ship approach each other, you all are within range to fire long range ordinance. There are 6 cannons on the port and starboard sides, 2 on the bow, and 1 at the stern. Each one has a pyramid of 5 cannonballs per cannon beside it and the deck crew is standing by with black powder and to assist with loading/aiming. It takes 3 people to efficiently operate a cannon, though 2 could manage in an emergency.
In case you missed it earlier, on the bottom deck there is extra powder, more cannonballs (150) and other ordinance. 50 Canister shot (explosive rounds) for medium and short range. 30 grapeshot (big shotgun shells) for short range, these are best used for clearing decks or for preemptive boarding shots and don't really damage the hull. Solid cannonballs can be used at any range. There are also 6 chain rounds, where two cannon balls are attached to a chain and must be fired simultaneously by 2 cannons. These can be used to fire at a mast to break it in half, disabling sails of a ship and making them rely on oars. Quint, Brody, and Hooper would have communicated this information with you among the initial tour. If you wish to improvise some kind of ordinance then you'll need to sell it to me with your creativity.
Roll Initiative everyone. (Combat information coming next)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC: I will roll Initiative for Armyl.
Armyl Initiative 17
The two ships close distance, bow to bow. As the pirate ship gets closer, you can calculate it is moving at approximately the same speed and is now roughly 1000 ft away. If you wish to attack then you will have disadvantage until it's within 600ft which will be in 4 turns, assuming speeds remain the same. Since it's closer you can see is about the same size as Truth's Tenacity.
Pirates Initiative 1517188710
Truth's Tenacity 12.333 vs Pirates 12.666
The Pirate ship lines up a shot and fires from the bow (disadvantage for distance), in the distance you see a puff of smoke and flash of gunpowder igniting, followed shortly by the sound of the blast.
Attack: 26 Damage: 89
There is a splash of water in front of the ship as the cannonball impacts short of the bow.
Quint says, "Ban, fire at will."
Truth's Tenacity is up.
You may attack in any order. The two ships are currently lined up bow to bow so you may choose to steer to fire from one of the sides (at the cost of conferring advantage), fire from the 2 bow cannons, delay, cast spells, shoot arrows, etc.
If you attack with cannons then you have disadvantage until it's within 600ft
You may also quickly discuss strategy if you wish without loss of turn.
While low on initiative to act, Ban will spend her time thinking hard and fast. When it clicks, "You heard the Captain! Fire at will! When they get close, turn hard port. Our starboard broadside to their bow. Load bow cannons with yer big balls facing them for now, firing when riding the trough of the waves. When we turn at close range, you best be sure you've loaded two chain rounds and four grapeshot, firing when we're on the wave's crest!"
Milo can’t do anything this turn. So He will talk to the crew „The time has come to dedicate our ship! Let's show these pirates what we can do! With the help of Ban's orders and your skill, we'll get our first victory“
OOC: Ban, you will get inspiration from Milo. In the next 10min you can add 1d6 to one of your checks, attacks or saving throw of your choice
