"It said all that in a tweet!?" Ivy would blink at Walf after he completes a translation for them. Though, she couldn't help but slip a few giggles with him, and further stifled snickers when Durnir would chime in. And then with a dimpled smile, Ivy follows along behind the two wise men. Attentive ears and nose at the ready.
Walf jumps, startled from Durnir speaking behind him and takes no offense to the old lizard comment as he is both old and a lizard. “Bird tell Walf where ear adornment is. Rocks on sea. Durnir follow. Walf learn from tweet. Walf retweet to bird. Walf and Magpie tweet at Walf and Magpie” Walf confidently says in broken common
As the magpie finishes the crunchy snack it continues to eye those close to it with avian curiosity, then says to Walf, "Nest. Young. Feed. Hungry." It flies off. Walf, you feel the memory of your presence on its mind as it flies off, surely to return again.
As the sun continues to drop behind the western horizon, the sky begins to darken off to the east. A cool breeze begins to push in from the sea as you all make your way in smaller groups, chatting amongst yourselves along the way and keeping a keen eye out for anything suspicious. Eventually, you all would find yourselves congregating in the same place - the edge of the fishing town. A coast of shale, sand, and protruding rock formations stretch out before you, overshadowed by a rising, wooded cliff. The beach appears to continue about 300ft before the coast.
There is also a path that goes into the forest towards the cliff. Those of you will passive perceptions above 12 would know that
There is about an hour of daylight remaining before seeing will become problematic for those without assistance or dark vision.
Adaban holds his arms outward and leans into the evening breeze as it picks up. "Embrace of salty wind under endless sky, such a gift! One missed such for untold time!" He looks to his companions. "Danger accompanies darkness, it is needed to choose adventure or caution... One would prefer adventure!"
Durnir chuckles as the others catch up. "What took you all so long? We just followed Walf's tweets and got here faster than you all! Rohohoho! I say we keep going, too, while the trail is fresh! I can help a few of you all with the darkness, once it gets too much."
Once Darkness falls, Durnir will say a quick prayer to Helm "May you grant your protection from the darkness on these travelers." He will use Eyes of Night to give up to 4 people Darkvision 300ft for 1 hour. Ivy and Walf will be two of them, if they want it, then there another 2 I can do.
Without any more words to anyone else, Khione slips away and starts heading into town, almost choosing to step into the shadows rather than avoid them..
"I will have trouble seeing in the dark, so I would need your gift or will need to light a torch." Davis says as the group gathers to prepare for moving onward. If he is given darkvision, then he would not bother with a torch, if he is not, then he will light a torch.
Ivy first started to squint as it was beginning to get dark, fully preparing to begin relying heavily on their nose. But then Durnir would ‘shed some light on the subject’. “I can see clearly now, the dark has gone…” She singsongs under their breath to themself. Their happy wiggle of their hips would pause abruptly when their senses would ping one less. Ivy would then shift uncomfortably and the lowest of grumbles roll from them. Walf would feel a gentle tug on his sleeve from Ivy. Their blue eyes look at him. It was obvious she was uneasy, similar to before and it wasn’t because of the falling darkness, he knew she wasn’t afraid of the dark.
"I could fashion us a light source, rather than using a torch. Though it would be better for examining something close, rather than for general brightness."Eirlys explains, a hand poking around her bag. "Any assistance with helping us see in the dark would be appreciated. It seems we've collected a bunch not so good at seeing at night."

The ever growing document of character concepts can never be too long, can it?
Walf bops his head along to Ivy's song humming along with her. He feels her tug on his sleeve and see the look in her eyes. He smiles reassuringly and speaks in Druidic "What worries you? You have a sense of danger? I too feel uneasy about going in the dark to look for this wreck if that's what it is. It could be that I misinterpreted the Magpie but I too sense the danger. Tell me, what do you feel? What is giving you the uneasy feeling? My hearing may not be as good as it used to be but my nose and stomach never fail.."
It takes a moment for Ivy to ‘calibrate’, but she eventually finds the words to respond to Walf in Druidic. “From the blood, I expect danger here.” She admits. “But it’s not that…” Ivy’s brows furrow. “Walf. I want to trust these folk like you and Durnir do. But…” She shifts a little, glancing down at their feet. Davis was nicest to Ivy but… “Are we not at the mercy of their judgement?” Ivy pauses to let those words settle. “More than once it’s been insinuated that as long as magic is used in a manner that they accept, they will look the other way…” Blue eyes then look back to him. “That doesn’t bring me comfort, even in good intentions.” Was that not in a way, using them? And what if they disagree? She scrunches her nose. “And one of them slipped away… You noticed right?” There’d be a small pause. “I’m wary.” Ivy confesses to him and their eyes sadden. “I just… don’t want you and Durnir taken away for being yourselves…”
Walf smiles again reassuringly not letting his worries come across his face. He continues to speak in Druidic "Now that you mention it, yes, we seem to be missing one of them...You have every right to feel the way you do. The blood, bird and earring are concerning, but so are our companions. It is smart to keep you guard up. We know very little of these people or even the land we have set foot in. We know this land does not take kindly to magic."
Walf pauses for a second and switches to common saying to the group but looking directly at Ivy "Keep eye open, Yes?"
Unless they are trying to be sneaky, Durnir will walk in the front as they start going through the forest.
"Adaban, can you see in the dark? Do you want to for a bit once it get's too dark?" Durnir will call over his shoulder. He will scan the front for any dangers that might be ahead. He will have his shield and saber out as they go through the forest.
Adaban smiles, a soft chuckle leaving his lips. "Darkness holds no mysteries for..." He falters as he seems to realize something in the fading light. "Kendeveri su!" His voice seems to be self admonishing. He sighs deeply, then responds, "Another gift is always welcome."
As you all enter the forest, you find yourselves walking along a trodden path that makes it's way upward with the elevation. You hear the typical sounds of a dusking forest - an owl somewhere off in the distant accompanied by the constant calls of crickets and other insects around you. The rhythmic crash of the sea waves against the shore begins to fade a bit as you make your way into the thickening wood.
Around twenty minutes or so into the hike the trail begins to transition from a dirt path to that of stone and boulders, and the incline of the path steepens sharply upward as you find yourselves approaching the top of the cliff. The final ascent appears trivial, but continuing forward will require an athletics check. This would also be considered rough terrain.

Durnir follows what Walf says, but only from being exposed to his 'common' for so long.
"I'm glad you got so much from a twittering with that bird. Let's see if anyone there needs help."
