Raelle eventually comes back to serve your breakfast as you converse with each other.
"We have breakfast wraps filled with assorted vegetables and diced beef," Raelle says. "Let me know if you need anything else. You already paid for the night, so if you want to check out after this, just drop the keys at the front desk even if no one is there."
If we can't find the way ourselves, we should. Otherwise i think we would be best of going alone. I dont want to involve others into possible danger if i dont have to.
Karm picks up one of the wraps But for this moment we should not think about the journey ahead and enjoy the moment and he takes a big bite
"Jiminy is our only option now, it would take us too long to walk and we wouldn't make it by midday. Think we have to stick to the plan and find him at the East Gate at dawn. And before anyone else hires him! If he can truly get us there in three hours we can maybe stop a little short to scope out the area before we head in", Drexon replies to karm.
You finish your breakfast and drop your keys at the front desk before exiting the At World's End inn. You head east, following the main road. Not far from the inn, there is a slight commotion right in front of a large building, even this early in the morning. Several people are crowding a board located in front of what you can only assume is the Mayor's Office. As you pass by them, you can hear them talking about missing persons in Erdelun and its surroundings. Several pictures have been placed on the board with the word 'MISSING!' in bright red blocky letters, mainly of young men and young women around the age of 11 to 18.
You continue down the main road and pass a rather large field near the east gate of the city. Already you can see people dressed in moss green firing arrows upon arrows on a target and doing a gauntlet of obstacles. A gruff-looking dwarf can be heard shouting instructions across the field. Drexon, you can faintly hear the dwarf grumbling about lackluster new recruits as you and the group pass by.
As you exit the east gate of Erdelun, you feel a slight tingle where you have been marked yesterday. Where there is a faint impression of the mark during your stay within the city, now it completely vanishes without a trace. The seal on your weapon also seems to lose its magical hum. You are now free from the arms restriction.
As you look around, you can already tell that this part of the city is different than what you have seen inside the city wall. The building seems to be constructed with practicality in mind instead of comfort. While the buildings inside the city gate are varied in design and construction, the buildings in this part of the city seem to be built en masse to house a lot of people, especially those who work along the Northern Trench Pass and the Vort's End Trail.
You walk around for a couple of minutes to find the High Trenches tavern, where Old Man Jiminy is said to be, to no avail before your attention is grabbed by the sight of a strange-looking carriage parked in the middle of the dirt road that will connect further east with the Northern Trench Pass. It is a mix of aged brass and steel frames complemented with worn wooden paneling that has been painted again and again over the years to hopefully give it the look of a brand new carriage. Six large goats, almost as tall as Eremoz, are tied at the front of the carriage. A crotchety old man can be seen waddling his way to the carriage with a sack of goods on his back.

Drexon keeps his and ears open as the travel through the town, as was his habit. You never knew what you could learn by simply being alert, and it had often come in handy in his life as a roaming gambler.
"Seems there are a fair few troubles in town, what with all the missing folk, and the need to build up their defence force", he says to the others as they pass through the gate.
When they find who they assume to be Jiminy, he hangs back and let's Cob do the talking, keeping a watchful eye on the old man and trying to get a read on him.
He can't help but throw a sidelong glance at Eremoz and Dvark as Cob offers their services, but mainly his focus is on the old man, the carriage and the rather impressive looking goats.
The old man looks at the group with a frown deep-set on his face before continuing his walk toward the carriage, keeping the sack close to him. He puts the sack in a storage crate at the back of the carriage and turns toward the group. He is a human male in his late 70s with an unusually fit physique. His greying hair is a little bit curly, covered partially by a high-collared frock coat.
"Yes, Jiminy is the name," he says. "You out of towner, then. No one is interested in the old fortress anymore except tourists and historians. You have coins? I'll get you up there before noon for 1 copper and by noon for 50 bronze."
As you get closer to the carriage, you can see that it has some sort of faint relief along the wooden paneling and frames. You are not sure what it depicts as it seems to have been obscured by many layers of paint.
Well Eremoz i cant tell you a lot then unfortunatly. Giants were responsible the creation of many magical objects, including weapons and armor, during the 2nd and 3rd age. I could tell you more about the ways they live and where they live. Why do you ask? Do you have a giant friend?
Karm remembers Eremoz history of competitions and arena fights
In your case probably more a rival, huh. I primarily like the language. It sounds very simplistic but has many facettes and details that are easily overheard. At least thats what a friend of me, a linguist, told me
Drexon wanders a little closer to the carriage to try and make out the iconography that is obscured by the layers of paint, taking little notice of the bartering for the fee of passage.
He doesn't get close enough to touch it, or to be reached by the goats in case they are less than friendly.
His eyes briefly dart to Old Man Jiminy as he walks.
Still struggling a bit to keep it straight - especially as my character sheet shows the standard coin types. I think all the copper I'm showing is bronze.
Cob laughs at Jiminy's comments.
"Of course we've coin," Cob says. "We didn't expect you to takes us up for free. Though if you wanted to, we wouldn't complain."
He looks at the others, his eyebrows raising, hands out.
"I think before noon would be best." Cob says then adds "Have you been taking a lot of people up there lately?"
Drexon stops his walk around the carriage and turns to Old Man Jiminy.
"Cob here is right, the faster the better", he says locking eyes with Jiminy for a moment, before turning away again.
He walks around to the other side of the carriage and whispers some words of power, waving his hand over the side of the carriage where it looks like markings have been painted over, trying to clean up a small area to make it more distinguishable.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
While everyone else focuses on Jiminy, Dvark turns and observes the area to check for anything suspicious or anyone taking a particular interest in their interaction.
Jiminy looks at Cob for a long moment before nodding. "You look like an interesting bunch," he says. "Get in and don't touch anything."
When you look inside the carriage, you notice that it is quite comfortable and not quite normal. You have to look back outside to understand that the inside is slightly bigger than the outside. Typically, the type of carriage that the old man uses can hold up to carry six people maximum. The interior before you can fit ten with still a lot of leg room to spare.
"Not many is interested with the old fortress anymore, but there are some. This latest bunch is a group of scholar with a rude green haired woman guarding them. They seem a nice bunch if a bit misguided and overzealous."
Dvark, you look around, but so far the morning has been quiet. Apart from some shifty glances of distrust from the locals, you don't see any threats or dangers coming your way for the moment.
Drexon, as you cast your cantrip to clean the paint a little, a small section of the wooden paneling shudders. For a brief moment, faster than you can even blink that you barely catch it, an area about as wide as your palm on the wooden paneling becomes devoid of paint. You can see parts of circles, dots, and lines arranged intricately on it. You are not quite sure what shape it forms as the paint returns and covers it again not long after. It seems that the wooden paneling is not as mundane as it looks.

”Thank you ma’am.” Eremoz nods his head to Raelle.
He grabs his breakfast. “Drexon is right, we need to get to the far gate soon. Daylight comes quickly.”
As they make their way across the city, Eremoz turns to Karm. “Karm, do you know much about giants and giant-kin?”
I have picked up a few things over time but im certainly no expert. What intrigues you specifically?

"Everything is giant to me," Cob says as he trots along with the others, deciding to give his legs a workout this morning.
When they see the man with the worn carriage and six giant goats, Cob nods and claps his hands together. "He fits the Old Man part of Old Man Jiminy."
Cob goes closer to the old man and gives him a lazy salute.
"Are you Jiminy?" Cob asks. "I'm Cobweb Goodfellow and these are my companions. We're looking for a lift up to Bast Trench this morning."
Seeing the sack of goods loading the man down, he nods back at Dvark and Eremoz.
"These two have muscles to spare," Cob adds. "If it would help gets us moving I'm sure they'll be thrilled to help you get loaded up."
