Victor glanced at the swordsman with a raised brow before letting out a soft sigh. "Sadly, I'm familiar with bites like this but I never thought that I'd be on the receiving end of one." He took a breath and hesitated for a moment before pulling out a set of manacles from his pouch. "The rope by itself might not hold on it's own but perhaps these could help? I don't really have much use for them down here anyway."
Before handing them over he gives the half elf a quick once over. He didn't respond to the question right away but after a few seconds he faked a small smile and carefully nodded even though it hurt. "Unless Xavword had a secret twin that nobody ever knew about I'm almost certain that this is him. Although if I'm wrong I'll owe you all a drink or something else that you'd prefer."
Assarion gives Tagreth a rueful nod, owning the criticism. "So we have the missing son, and the creature that had him - and was likely trying to kill or even eat him," he summarizes. "Is there any reason to keep the grave-vomit alive?" He doesn't mind playing "bad cop" when it comes to the undead.
Victor thought about what Assarion had said for a few seconds before glancing at the undead dragonborn for a moment. "Other than interrogating him to find out what he knows and why he kidnapped Xavword, I don't really know. Although I must admit that the thought of slaying him is starting to become more favorable with each passing second."
Bombil thinks for a moment and says, "I think it would be in poor taste to kill someone that surrendered in response to a demand to doso.Though I think Xavword's voice would weigh heavily on the matter," he walks over and kneels by Xavword to be on eye level. "Hello, Xavword. My name is Bombil. Kaliden," he gestures to the dwarf, "is the one that healed you. We, along with those two," he gestures at Assarion and Tagreth, "were looking for you on behalf of your father." He hesitates for a moment before continuing, "I overheard something about a passageway. What was Yostil trying to get from you? Could be useful in determining where we go from here."

Xavword looked at Bombil before glancing towards Tagreth for a couple seconds. He gently rubbed the back of his head slightly as he thought about what Bombil had said. "H-hello there, thank you for healing me good sir and thank you all for rescuing me. I was starting to think that I'd die down here and for a little while I was close to it." He said with a small hint of a frown. He paused for a couple seconds and glanced towards the Dragonborn for a moment before taking a deep breath. As he exhaled he ran his hand over the stump where his other arm had once been. "Killing him wouldn't really change anything. What's done is done, and although he's taken a life, it would be for the best to keep him alive at least until my father and the other nobles of the city decide what punishment best befalls him."
"He wanted me to open the passage way to my father's 'lair' but I refused to do so. You can see how well that went..."
"Alive?" the fighter asks. "I don't think 'alive' is quite the best word for this creature." Glancing at the stump, he adds, "Your loyalty and courage do you credit, Lord Stoneclaw." He gives the young nobleman a salute with his rapier before turning back to Yostil. "You heard the elf-brother. By law you must appear before a noble of the kingdom for judgment, for the crimes of kidnapping, assault, and attempted murder. If you cooperate with us, you may earn yourself some leniency." He pauses to let that sink in. "Before we act, I want to know who sent you, and what evil power sustains you."
”Honestly in a million years I never actually thought you would agree to a surrender. However, now you will drop all that you have and submit to being bound. Your continued ‘life’ (said with a sneer, and a spit) depends on it.”
Yostil cursed under his breath before tossing a rusty dagger onto the ground along with a signet ring that was likely stollen from either Xavword or someone else that unfortunately crossed paths with the undead dragonborn.

"I know that it does not fit but I do believe that you have an idea of what I meant." Xavword said with a slight shrug before nodding slightly in response to what Assarion had said.
Yostil looked down at the ground as he thought about what was going to happen to him. "Thalmyr Shadowfist was the one who sent me and the one that turned me into... this."
"You mentioned he took a life. Whose?" asks Bombil to Xavword. "And did he give any indication as to what he wanted from your father's... 'lair' perchance?"

Xavword hesitated for a moment as he tried to recall the name of the person who had been killed. He took a breath before moving closer towards Bombil. "It was a close friend of the family. A man by the name of Lyndon..." He said in a low whisper before glancing towards Victor for a moment.
"He never mentioned anything in particular but if I had to make a guess it might be something that my father kept hidden and didn't want anybody knowing about."
"Hmm," Tagreth thinks for a moment before his attention back to the creature. "Thalmyr Shadowfist, sent you? I'm taking it that he told you to look for something. Even if you don't know exactly what you are supposed to obtain."
He stand up and approaches the Yostil trying to loom over him and look intimidating.

A dry chuckle escaped Yostil at Tagreth's attempt to intimidate him. "Yes, he sent me to find something 'that scaled bastard stole' from him. If memory serves me correctly then it was a book... perhaps a tome... I'm not entirely sure."
The fighter catches the name and he, too, gives Victor a discrete glance. As he listens to the questioning, though, his gaze keeps returning to the signet ring Yostil dropped. Carefully, not letting his gaze stray far from the dragonborn, he crouches to pick up the ring. Rising, he steps back and offers it to Xavward. "Is this yours,Marquess?," he asks quietly. "Do you recognize it?"
(OOC: I'm assuming Xavward's dad is a Duke - the highest rank short of royalty)
Tagreth thinks for a moment, "A tome? Interesting, but you say this was stolen from Shadowfist? I am guessing that this tome must be a highly sought possession."
Tagreth then turns his attention to the rest of the group.
"That would mean that the tome contains some valuable information, or it is a powerful item in its own right."
He then looks at Xavword, "Do you know anything about a tome?"

Xavword hesitated for a second before taking the ring from Assarion. As he inspected it closer he let out a faint curse and shut his hand so the ring was now sitting in his palm. "It's not mine but I do believe I know who it belongs to." He replied in a hushed whisper before opening his hand again. "I'll make sure that it gets to it's owner's family."
Yostil didn't say anything in response but nodded slightly.
When Tagreth turned to Xavword he looked honestly surprised by the mention of a tome and the fact that his father may have stolen it. "I don't recall any mention of a tome. But if my father did indeed steal it from this Shadowfist person then it's possible that he planned on destroying it. Definitely if said tome has something to do with the increase of undead in the nearby area."
As Kaliden finishes binding and considers what he has been handling he first considers if Yostil will attempt anything on our way out insight and a quick silent prayer, ‘by my beard let 'im try, I never shoulda offered him surrender.’
