The fighter grimaces, silently cursing himself for not checking the ring's crest himself. But proprieties must be observed. "Lord Stoneclaw, I believe we have a ring that does belong to you. Master Kaliden?" he gestures to the ring the cleric wears. "And as a noble of the realm, Marquess, you have the authority to judge this...prisoner. You have heard and witnessed and experienced the evidence. Will you pronounce your judgment?"
"Something doesn't sit quite right with me." says Bombil, "Yostil was determined enough to find a stolen item that he was willing to kill. Yet he doesn't know if it's a book or a tome? And if it has to do with the undead, then it would only make all the more sense for him to know what it was he claims to have been looking for." He pauses. "I think our 'friend' knows more than he's let on." He then pauses to hear Xavword's judgements before further actions.
[[OOC: Anticipating making an intimidation check against Yostil. But waiting for that judgement first to better color the path.]]
Tagreth turns his head to Bombil, "Well, a tome is a book. Usually a large and heavy one. Sometimes tomes contain powerful magic or dark secrets that should remain hidden. Of course, not all books are tomes."

“The secret we should never let the gamemasters know is that they don't need any rules.” ― Gary Gygax
Xavword shakes his head slightly when he noticed the fighter's grimace and slowly straightens himself up. He glanced down at the ring that the cleric was wearing and nodded slightly. "That it does but perhaps it would be for the best if Master Kaliden holds onto it for the time being. When we are out of the tunnels he can give it back if he doesn't feel as though he needs it anymore. I'm sure that Andnon wouldn't mind if I let him use it." He said with a very small hint of a smile, although it all but faded as he turned his attention towards the dragonborn again. "I may not be as forgiving at present but it is quite understandable. It is true that I have heard, witnessed and experienced the evidence first hand... the blackmailing of my father, the kidnapping of two nobles, the murder of one of said nobles and the attempted murder of the other. First we should interrogate him to see if we can get any more information about the tome from him and or any information pertaining to this master of his. If he refuses to speak then I don't see the harm of using force if it comes down to it. I hate that I'm actually going to say this but, if he continues to refuse to speak after that then... then execute him. I would say that it might be karmic if we did this back where you guys just came from since that's where he basically did the same to us but I'll leave that up to you guys."
"He's likely lying about not knowing if it was a book or a tome. If memory serves me correctly the man that Yostil mentioned was a powerful necromancer that was rumored to have gone missing a few years after the undead incident in Espar. If he's truly still alive and Stoneclaw managed to get his hands or perhaps claws on the book so that he could destroy it then..." Victor trailed off as he thought about what Xavword had said. He nodded slightly and went to go retrieve the daggers that he'd thrown at Yostil.
Xavword looked down at the ring for a moment before shaking his head slightly. "As I said earlier I think it would be best if you hold onto it for now." He hesitated for a couple seconds before carefully taking the blade that had once belonged to Yostil.
Returning the ring to his finger with a bit of relief, Kaliden relinquishes Yostil’s blade, then with a hint of bravado, “Justice, on the word of young master Stoneclaw. No escape for ye. Now answer properly an I’ll make it a quick end for ya.” Kaliden immediately regrets that last bit.
Ooh why do I keep softening my responses towards this defilement.
Taking the cue for further interrogation and Kaliden's taunt, Bombil turns to Yostil, hoping that perhaps an ounce of good might reside within the undead dragonborn, "As you've heard us say, it's pretty clear to all of us that you know more than you're letting on." He adds a soft light-hearted chuckle, "If you were looking for mercy, it would be best for you to share more of what you know. Besides, if Thalmyr was the one to turn you into this then why not get a little payback by sharing a juicy tidbit?" He makes a friendly smile while waiting for Yostil's reply and hopes the dragonborn will make a decision aligned with good, but prepares himself for the potential necessity of more forceful tactics.
The fighter continues to eye the undead figure intently. He stalks back and forth, keeping a bit of distance from Bombil. Perhaps he will subconsciously impress upon Yostil the idea of a decision between the two, between cooperation or fighting. Now and then - when Yostil is looking away - he'll shoot a quick glance at the marquess, trying to gauge his decision.

Yostil silently glared at Kaliden for a moment before snorting slightly at the mention of a quick end. "I am far from deserving of a quick end. In fact I think a slow and rather painful end would probably suit me a fair bit more, wouldn't you agree?" He fought back a laugh as he shifted his gaze towards the ceiling for a moment, almost as if he was talking to someone above him although there was certain no one there. He slowly looked back down and clicked his tongue as he thought about whether or not to say anything more.

"I was not looking for mercy in the slightest. It would be wasted on me anyway, although I can't deny that it is tempting. The tome that was stolen from Thalmyr had originally belonged to a rather peculiar nobleman named Carnelis Oceanmane, he was like an advisor to lord Crestheart when he first took power. Thalmyr stole it from his library whilst he was away on business with the lord and planned on using whatever knowledge he gained from it to raise an army of undead the likes of which would make the one raised during the 'necromancy incident' seem... trivial in comparison." Yostil said as his gaze shifted to Bombil. A low growl escaped him as he heard something shift behind him but he didn't take his eyes off him.
"Tagreth mentioned the idea of leaving these tunnels and heading back to Stoneclaw. I'm inclined to agree. While a part of me wishes we had more time to find those two young men that entered earlier, this present matter and the potential plots of this Thalmyr seem quite urgent."
{With a 14 Bombil notices something that appears humanoid in nature slipping into the shadows further down the tunnel, before it disappears into the shadows he can hear a quiet voice whisper something to him. ''Do not fear, I'm not here to hurt anyone. I just wanted to see what all the commotion was about."}
Xavword took a breath before nodding in agreement. "Perhaps we should return to my father then. I'm sure that you'll have more chances to come down here in the future, and with any luck those two young men that came down here have made their way out without incident."
Bombil takes what the humanoid says and ponders it in his heart for the time being. Strange things in the tunnels, he thinks. Seemed to not be antagonistic, perhaps something to ask about but at the present there were other things to consider. "Brother Kaliden and Assarion, probably makes sense for you to keep guard over our captive. I can take the lead as we head out. And then Tagreth, would you and Ratchet be able to take up the rear?"
Perception: 8 for general watch as going back through the tunnels
As the group is heading through the tunnels Bombil decides to make some conversation, partially to pass time and partially to see if there were rumors about a creature that would hide in the shadows, "So I know these tunnels have been here a while. Must be many stories about them. Undead beasts. Dragons. Creatures in the shadow that call this place their home?" Perhaps one of his companions might know something. Or someone like Lowclaw or Xavword could have an indication.
A curious expression crossed Xavword's face as he heard mention of creatures in the shadow. He had known about the dragons and more recently about the undead but he didn't recall any shadowy beasts. "A creature in shadow? I don't believe I've heard of such a creature... unless it was also a vampire." He thought aloud as he glanced over his shoulder for a moment.
"The dragon you've already met, although Lord Stoneclaw would likely deny it if asked about it. Up until rather recently the only things to worry about down here were giant rats but a certain young man and his friend were attacked by ghouls and only managed to get away from them by luring them down here."

Kaliden Two-Stones
“Young lord if this belongs to you.” Kaliden slips off the ring and holds it out for Xavord Stoneclaw, should he wish to have it.
”And this as well.” He holds out Yostil’s blade.
{With a 16 Kaliden gets the sense that Yostil is certainly planning something, it's possible that he may try to free himself if given the chance...}
