Piers feels a bit embarrassed cause of the misunderstanding "Apologies but we are not accustomed to such a gentle gestures. You could say we been on the road for too long.I love those cookies so I will gladly accept them"
Drux looks down at his sword? “Rust?! Where!?” And he immediately begins to examine the sword, completely ignoring the cookies and conversation, concerned only with making sure his equipment is up to snuff.
"ohh don't onverthink it! i understand how you feel, you know, i just recently opened my business here. people here have an. .. expensive taste. they dont trust anything that it's not overpriced." she comments, with a sigh "it's pretty hard. you're the only ones in a long time to use my services, mostly because i prefer a more "modest" style. also because i'm a tiefling." she giggles a bit " sorry about this, you must not be interested in an old woman's struggles. i will make your stay worth the while, i promise."
Lore stands and takes one of the biscuits, then nods and smiles, "Very kind, madam, very kind. But, now that we are settled, perhaps we should explore this fine neighbourhood a little more."
The entire establishment seems strange to Lore. Deserted, no patrons: Such a place should be closed. Yet here was an odd tiefling.
He asks the invisible Kess to move down his forearm, then holds out his hand slowly, to shake the innkeepers own hand. "Very pleased to meet you," he says then tries to hurry her out of the room, his hand on her shoulder. As he does so he ask Kess to make brief contact with the tiefling and make an assessment.
"I'd like to hear your stories. But Like my friend says, we're going out to take in the ambiance, of the neighborhood. Do you know anything about the estates around here?"
She takes Lore's lead taking a cookie but not eating she places it in her pack. "I've just ate so I'll save it for later." she follows Lore.
kess looks at lore, nodding as she touches the woman's shoulder. after a few seconds she reports "nope, she's not evil, if that's what you're thinking. come on she's an old woman that baked us cookies! i wished someone could bake me cookies."
the woman looks at you, a bit saddened "oh? well, sure then. i hope you have safe travels. . .well, there is this strange place that it's pretty famous, gralhund villa i think? it's a pretty interesting place where a lot of important people attend to. the garden it's pretty nice, too! there is also the angels delight. the prices are hight but the food is tasty too. other than that i don't know if i can be of much assistance, i'm sorry. . ."
the taste of the cookie is, as piers said, delicious. it seems to have a bit of honey mixed in the dough, giving a good, warm feeling.
Roll a constitu- joking lol no need to be paranoid.

Lore raises an eyebrow, replying mentally, "Come one...I bought you a tree and you didn't even have to come back as an Imp!" He looks speculatively at each of the others, "But...if you play your cards right, Cat might bake you cookies."
More seriously he adds, "Always look a gift horse in the mouth. It's probably filled with soldiers."
He does make a mental note to mention that she might be a good manager for their establishment...
If/when the innkeeper has left, Lore closes the door and turns to the others. "So...we should try to rescue the prisoner? I'm not sure how we can go about it without creating mayhem."
"hey! that's not fair!" she says annoyed "but okay! i will do my best so i can have tasty tasty cookies."
the tiefling gets surprised for the hug, and she smiles, hugging cat back "be safe, then! oh where are my names, i'm Meridia. it's a pleasure to meet you." she says, smiling, before leaving after lore closed the door
"maybe we can jump the wall? or maybe find some kind of back entrances?" kess comments, thinking
After saying their goodbyes Piers still eating that biscuit as slow as he can say "Its amazing that in a couple of days since we started this whole adventure we managed to meet so many people .Now back to our topic..We could try to find other entrances but I ll go with jumping the wall. Its wierd they have only a gardener and two dogs isn't it?"he pauses and takes a big breath "As far as I get those kind of rich individuals are known to have a lot of guards. We have to distract somehow the dogs or cover our smell!Any suggestions ?"
"I think the roof if we could climb the building without being seen." Cat holds up the half a cookie "You think this could disappear, if none but the smallest of us touch it?"
Lore looks a little confused, "Kess is quite strong, and when she becomes invisible anything she carries also becomes invisible. What is it you have in mind?"
She laughs "This is quite tasty," she shrugs "I was just offering the cookie, to Kess but that's good to know can she carry pitons? Make a rope invisible? If she carries the end of it?."
Lore laughs, "My suspicious mind was thinking perhaps you planned to poison the food in the manor. Or deliver a saw." He smiles at Kess, "I am sure she would like some of the cookie, but half would keep her going for a full day I think."
"Come to think of it...perhaps she could untie the prisoner and deliver the tools by which they may escape."
(( @DM: How big was the property in question, fence to fence and door to door? ))
( the property's walls are pretty big. . . 12-foot-high stone walls, with ceilings being 20ft hight. however kess saw a side where the walls are only 8 feet hight. you can also try and look around for back entrances or windows

Seeing Piers eat and nothing happens. Cat stops takes the cookie she put in her pack out and eats it. Saving half for later.
The cookie tastes so good Cat turns and Gives the Teithling a hug.
"I said we're exploring not leaving here. We'll be back later tonight, hopefully. We did just pay a gold each. What was your name?"

“Are we seriously considering breaking the thief out? Is that truly necessary?” Drux asks to clarify the situation.

(( Thanks. I also meant how big is the property itself? Width and bredtth.
Edit: and how far is building from outer perimeter? ))
( the width is 170ft, and the distance between the building itself and the entrance gate is 60ft
