Pops would just like to surrender and maybe get holed up wtih leosin...
(With that roll, you're gonna get the chance)
Rockcrusher and Maythus are able to start climbing the wall without issue, the handholds cut into the rock making it easy for them, even when they're in a rush as right now. Dawn helps Pops get the harness on and climbs up to place the first anchor to help keep the human from falling too far if he slips on the rock. Pops steps up to the wall and grabs onto the first handholds to start climbing, but his old muscles are unequal to the task, and he's not even able to climb the first few feet off the ground before losing his grip and slipping back down. After a couple attempts with no better luck, he sighs and sits back down with his cane across his lap as he had originally intended, waiting to surrender.
(Anyone wanna do anything else before the raider's get there or are the other 3 going to keep climbing?)
Realizing there is nothing else they can do to help Pops, the rest of the party finishes climbing the cliff to safety. Pops is quickly surrounded. The raiders take his cane and search him for other weapons, then tie his hands and lead him to the large tent in the east end of the camp (#2 on the map). Rough hands shove him into the tent, where he finds himself facing a human wearing purple robes over chain mail armor, a halberd propped up next to her. "Who are you?" she asks.
"Why would you take away an old mans cane you bastards!"Pops shakes his fist to the guards. He turns around to the stranger's question. "I am Cornelius O'Hanlon. My students call me Pops. Me and my lads fought the Dragon back at Greenest and I got caught scouting out this camp. Who might you be?"
The guard holding Pops' cane shrugs. "Never know what might be used as a weapon." The woman watches Pops as he answers. "I'm Frulam Mondath," she replies. "Students, you say? Why would they send a teacher as a scout? An old one at that. Are you from Greenest, then?"
(What's the rest of the party doing while Pops is being questioned?)
Use the cliff to look and observe the camp, get a better idea of placements, and how many people are there. Look for where they might be taking extra food to possibly identify where prisoners are being held.

"I'm sure you are aware you and your boys did a number on the towns guard. I am just an able bodied volunteer who happens to be an academic expert on Dragons! I saw exploring your camp as an opportunity to learn more. I have so many questons Mrs. Mondath. My first being how did you get a blue dragon to stray so far away from its home habitat. My studies show that Blue Dragons prefer the arid climates of deserts and the like." Pops turns to the guard holding his cane, "I respect your caution young man but my hip is screaming for my cane. Unless you would like to hold me up, I might have to continue this conversation laying on the ground."
The woman shrugs, "We share a common goal. Everyone must make sacrifices to help ensure the mother of dragon's return." Several of the guards murmur "Praise Tiamat's Glory," at this, extending their right hands. Some have all 5 fingers extended, others keep 2 curled back. At pops request for the return of his cane, she shakes her head. "You won't be needing it," she says. "Can't have spies sneaking into the camp all the time." She waves a hand at the guards. "Secure him for tonight. We'll execute him in the morning. Maybe the others will still be watching and see the penalty for sneaking into our camp."
The guards escort Pops across the open area towards the set of tents to the south, stopping shortly before the actual tents where a number of large stakes have been driven into the ground (#3 on the map. I added the map to the public campaign notes to make it easier to find as needed). A half-elf lies next to one of the stakes, wrists tied together, then from there to the stake. He appears to be sleeping or otherwise unconscious, and Pops can tell he's been badly beaten. The guards tie Pops in the same way to another stake next to the half-elf, then leave to go back to the revelries. The guard with Pops' cane tosses it to the ground towards pops, just out of where the man would be able to reach it, then laughs as he wanders towards the fire at the nearby tents. He (and the other raiders at the fire) is still able to see where Pops is tied to the stake, although doesn't seem to care that much, watching occasionally but more focused on food and drink, and is far enough away to not hear much over the sound of the revelries. Shortly after all the raiders have left, the half-elf rolls over, groaning a bit, and whispers in a rasping voice just loudly enough for Pops to hear, "Who're you?"
Rockcrusher (and maythus/dawn if you're doing similar):
Watching the camp from the edge of the plateau above, Rockcrusher sees Pops taken to the lone tent in the east end of the camp for a short time, then led out to where he's tied to a stake in the ground next to a half-elf that's lying in the dirt, either unconscious or asleep (at #3 on the map. I added the map to the public campaign notes to make it easier to find as needed). Surveying the camp from above, he's able to get a better idea of the layout than he had from walking in the front entrance earlier. The tents in the mouth of the hollow (level 1 on the map) are more crudely built and decorated with animal skulls, and kobolds gather around the campfires nearby. The huts on the second level, used by the rest of the cultists, are sturdier, cleaner, and decorated with paintings of dragons. These are the ones used by the other cultists. Though it's hard to get an exact count between the darkness and the way the raiders are moving about, he's estimates there's probably about 100 kobolds and around 80 other raiders in the camp. He can't see any actual prisoners besides the half-elf and pops that are tied out in the open, but notices that there are no campfires by one set of tents (#1 on the map, just south of the fire you guys were at and basically just below you from the top of the cliff), and can guess that if there are more prisoners, that's probably where they're kept.
Dawn says to Maythus and Rockcrusher "If you want to try to get him out, I suggest the two of you walk down the ravine (to level one) and after 10 minutes I will start shooting fire arrows at the tents, hopefully creating a distraction for you to rescue Pops and Leosin Erlanthar.

(So a heads up the tents are more of semi-permanent huts (the campaign goes back and forth referring to them as tents or huts): "The raiders live in circular huts made from closely spaced wooden or bone poles covered in hide, mud, and sod." I'd probably say fire arrows would work on the kobold tents on the first level, with the shoddier construction on the kobold huts, but the studier raider huts probably wouldn't light very well.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Pops is dragged out of Mondath's tent asking more questions about Tiamat. He screams asking about the fate of the Platinum Dragon and his heart soars even at the thought of an adversary. "Are you sure she is alive? What do you know of her brother, HER BROTHER!?"
Pops looks over the beaten man next to him and says, "I am Pops and I am here to get you out. Grandmaster Leosin I presume? Please forgive my bluntness but you look terrible. Can you fight?"
Pops will try to slip free of his cuffs without the guards noticing. Sleight of Hand13
The woman ignores Pops' questions as he's dragged out to where he's tied up for the night.
The half-elf gives Pops a look. "Some rescue," he says with a shake of his head. "Yes, I am Leosin. And no, I'm not in much shape to fight. I presume from the commotion earlier that you weren't alone?"
(Pops gimme a dex check to see if you can slip free from the ropes)
Pops is unable to slip free from his ropes right now.
(You can try to break them with a str check, wait and try to slip out again after an hour, try to get a raider to come over and try to convince em to untie you for whatever reason, something else if you have other ideas. Or wait to see if the others can free you)
While Rockcrusher and Maythus are getting into position, I will take out 10 arrows and the flask of oil that is 4/5 full and coat the arrows in oil. Then I get out my tinder box and wait for the remaining 10 minutes.
