Etrigan growls with frustration and tries to better his aim more, trying one more shot from the same distance, right outside of the reach of the strange purplish beam.
One blast finally flies straight and true at the runic glyph, leaving a slightly smoking blotch on the wall where it had been! The sickening beam fades, allowing you to reach the door unhindered, save for the menacing shadows that are still encroaching on the edges of your lit periphery.
"Finally." Etrigan mutters, looking at the black rod in his hand as if it was faulty or something. "Shall we?"He says a moment later, looking up at the others, motioning for Daj to take point again.

Rohesia takes a few moments to recover from the sickening blast of light. She looks almost like she would rather continue to move away from the spot where Etrigan finally blasted that glyph. She keeps an eye out on the others, seeing as they try the door and find it locked. "Give me a moment. I can help with that." She slowly straightens herself then heads down the passage again towards the door. She keeps her eyes on the shadows as she proceeds with her torch.
Once to the door she says, "Okay, let's hope this works." She pulls out a set of Thieves' Tools from a pouch at her belt. She then proceeds to try to unlock the door. (Thieves' Tools/DEX: 11)
"Lucky shot I'm afraid." Etrigan mutters to Athyra, but then gives her a nod and a quick smile.
Etrigan holds his torch to help Rohesia with light as she works the lock with her slender tools. "I have some tools that might help if your's won't cut it."He says politely.
(Help action to Rohesia if needed as Etrigan would lend her some of his tools and advice on how to get this kind of lock open. :-)
((Sorry for the delay. Was dealing with doctors appointments today))
"I'll take that kind of luck any day," Daj says. "Thanks. We should be a little more cautious moving forward. I mean, this was intended to trap a great wizard down here."
Daj moves back to the front of the group, stopping at the door and allowing Rohesia to get access to the lock. "If that doesn't work, there's always the hammer? Crude, but often effective."
It takes few moments to figure the lock out, but before long you soft chink of springs being put into place and tumblers flipping signals the unlocking you were trying for. As you move through into the next chamber, you are bathed in an almost blinding glow of moonlight beaming in from somewhere above--remarkable given it was daylight when you entered the Spire. The floor and walls of this circular chamber are white marble streaked with iridescent gray and lavender. An elaborate lighting fixture hands from the ceiling, which upon second glance you realize is a group of ornate mirrors suspended and angled to reflect the moonlight and diffuse it throughout the room. Some of the mirrors also create a single shaft of focused moonlight, which forms a large circle on the wall opposite the door. There is a circular pool of water in the middle of the room, its surface still and clear as glass. Two 3 foot-long levers jut out of it. The first lever has a white handle, the second lever has a black handle. As the last member of your party enters the room, the door swings shut of its own accord and the wall begins to rotate around you with a steady whirring and clicking.

"Bah, more trickery." Etrigan snarls as the walls begin to rotate, quickly moving over to the levers, hoping to figure out what they are for to hopefully avoid having to pull them blindly. "I assume the other door is locked but perhaps someone could check on it just to make sure." He says as he goes to work.

“I agree with Daj. I’ll take that kind of luck any day!”
When the room starts to spin Athyra sighs, “Well at least it hasn’t tried to kill us yet.” Doing her best to ignore the spinning wall, she walks over to the levers. “Do you think these move the mirrors? White makes it brighter and black makes it darker?”
Looking around, the only thing you can surmise currently is that beam of moonlight on the wall is roughly twice the size of the pool in the middle of the room.
"Perhaps, these levers will help us with that." Athyra glances at Etrigan with her piercing blue eyes, "I think we need to make that beam of light, move down onto this pool of water, and I bet these levers will move it around."
With that, she takes a hold of the white lever, and pushes it towards the beam of light.
As soon as you start to cross the room, it shifts again, moving in a seemingly random pattern around and up and down before stopping once more as you reach the levers. You push the white lever, but nothing happens.
"The black lever for me then, how fitting. Matching my soul, if I had one."Etrigan says with a smirk, looking at Athyra as he firmly pushes the black lever in the same direction as Athyra pushed the white lever.

"Nice shot!" Athyra says when Etrigan manages to hit the rune, "Yes lets get out of here, those shadows are starting to creep me out. Ha ha ha!"

Neither of you notice anything else out of the ordinary, other than that the door at the end of the hall is locked.

Looking around, the only thing you can surmise currently is that beam of moonlight on the wall is roughly twice the size of the pool in the middle of the room.
"Perhaps, but we need to figure out what would make that door open." Etrigan says, briefly looking up at Athyra with his glaring red eyes.

The lever is currently pushed all the way forward, and nothing happens.
"Pull them back instead perhaps?" Etrigan suggests to Athyra with a shrug. "Ladies first." He adds with a wry smile.
Athyra shrugs and smiles back, “Such a gentleman.”
She pulls the white lever so that it is pointing strait towards the ceiling.
