Both of the guides look over at Ahkmenos and Eku speaks. " I'm afraid you have been misinformed. Prices are non-negotiable. They are set by the Guide Master Jobal.Standard fees for hiring a guide is 5 gold pieces a day with a 30-day advancement."Silda nods at Eku's statement.
Zee walks over to the group at this point and smiles. "That is why you should hire me. I am not part of the Guide Guild and can wave any fee, all I ask in return is for you to help me with this Ancient Tomb I discovered a few days back."
Ah yes, I hear you are a formidable opponent and thought highly by many others. Do you think you'd be able to help us along our way? What is your story?
My friends, we are on an important mission and every guide continues to tell us the dangers of what is in the jungle, might it be prudent to hire 2 of them? Silda and Eku both seem to work for the Guide Master and it seems smart to hire an official guide as to not upset any of the local trade princes who run this place. If we have 2 guides who know the Jungle their combined knowledge might aid us in our quest.

"Dis seems vise to Greggor. Gold buys knowledge, baht aid buys loyalty, no?"
Greggor pulls out a chair for Z before seating himself and loading up a plate from the banquet spread before them.
"Thank you Greggor,"Zee says as she takes a seat.
Eku and Silda both look over at Zee. Silda scowls at her while Eku gives her a warm smile. "Child, I know you mean well and you are an accomplished archeologist but you're not a guide."
Zee listens to Eku's words and nods, she ignores Silda completely. "It is true I am not a guide but I have been living in the jungle for over twenty years now. I know this jungle just as much as you do. I know the location of the ancient city of Orolunga, I have been to the Wreck of the Star Goddess. I have survived the Valley of Dread and traversed the Land of Ash and Smoke. I have done more than most of the so-called guides that work for Jobal. I have not been around as long as you of course. "She gives a slight bow of respect," but I have been around more than the rest."
Elvoril says "My friends, we are on an important mission and every guide continues to tell us the dangers of what is in the jungle, might it be prudent to hire 2 of them? Eku looks at Silda and shakes her head. "I will not work with her." She pauses and considers Zee for a moment before speaking. "If you do wish to have two guides. I will work with Zee, She is honorable."
A look of alarm crossed Tap's face, good thing for him Kenku's faces were borderline expressionless. He had never met such a person before, how would he describe it to the others? Kenku were cursed to never have a creative thought, they could only communicate and even act mimicking sounds, ideas, and, in Tap's special case, thoughts they had experienced before. Knowing he had to inform the others of what he had learned, but unable to express something outside of his experience, he did the best he could:
Telepathically sending in image of Eku's face to his new flock [the party members], he superimposed it with an image of the magic crystal he wore around his neck.
OOC: In the timeline of events, this happens after post 202
Elvoril will give Tap a look of slight confusion then turn to Silda "You have been quiet, both Eku and Zee seem to be at odds with you, have you anything to say on your own behalf? I am not trying to set anyone against each other we just need to make sure we are set up to have the best chance of success on our mission."

"This Eku person," he says to Silda in a low voice,
"My kenku companion is telling me" (he taps his head) "that she has magic or something, but he seems very alarmed. You seem to have met Eku before. Can you explain?"
Zee leans forward putting her hands on the table. "I just want to make one thing clear. I do not do my job for treasure or glory. I do it to reclaim lost relics, statues, pieces of art from long ago civilizations and to give it back to the Chultan people. This is their home and I believe they are the rightful owners. I do feel that any gold or items that are found along the way are for the people that risked their lives to retrieve these artifacts."
Krav frowns as the image enters his mind.

Silda sighs. "I have met her before, every guide has met her before. She has been around longer than any of us. Everyone speaks highly of her, even Jobal. You wouldn't find anyone to speak a bad word about her, but you will also not find anyone that will say what has happened while with her in the jungle."
Elvoril will give Tap a look of slight confusion then turn to Silda "You have been quiet, both Eku and Zee seem to be at odds with you, have you anything to say on your own behalf? Silda turns towards Elvoril. "I have said everything I have to say. It is up to your party what kind of guide they wish to have guided them in the jungle."
Ahkmenos will pick up a piece of fruit and throw it at the magic scary one. To hit 21 (I'm throwing a soft squishy fruit, not a hard one).
Id like to aim for her pendant magic thing preferably. (there is no magic pendant thing)
The piece of fruit goes flying through the air and hits Eku squarely in the chest. She looks over at Ahkmenos and scowls. She waves her hand across her chest and the fruit stain magically disappears.
Ah, are you intrigued by them? (Thumbs up for yes, thumbs down for no).
Tap sent two thumbs up. All new experiences are intriguing to him, they quite literraly opened up whole new ways of thinking that he had never had before.
Kaslo gives Eku a look, as if to say he's terribly sorry, and really embarrassed for the behavior of some of his party members. He then gets up and heads back over to the bar to think.
Playing with his amulet, he suddenly gets an idea. Pretending to be muttering to himself, he begins reciting the incantations of a spell while his hands move about systematically.
Kaslo attempts to Detect Evil and Good in the room, to help bring clarity to the situation.

Well Elvoril is the one who knows this place the best out of our group. I guess it'd be best to trust his judgement...
