Krav (28/60), Drita (0/31), Solis (3/22), T-Rex(114), Kaslo (16/39)
Kaslo is up (Round 3)
Krav blinks, glowing greatsword slashing across the t-rex's jaw, then coming to a halt on the ground as the beast recovers from the blow.
"The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice."
"That was in that book that Zachariah carried. I'd forgotten."He grins weakly.
"I told you to run and you are, but what about me? You are wise, but I..."
He turns to face the t-rex again, swinging hard at its neck and the blade lays open a wide gash dripping blood. (32 damage)
"Maybe I am just a fool."
Solis launches another rock at the T-rex but it deflects off a nearby tree missing the T-rex.
The T-rex shakes his head before lunging towards Krav, its sharp teeth getting hold of Krav's shoulder and biting a good chunk out of it. (65 damage 1/2ed is 32)
Krav (28/60), Drita (0/31), Solis (3/22), T-Rex(160), Kaslo (16/39)
"Krav! Solis! RUN!" he yells as he attempts to climb the cliff.
"Lethander, grant me your blessing and aid me up this cliff" Kaslo tries to climb but he can't seem to find a foothold or handhold to grab onto at the moment.
Krav winces, but just barely stops himself from crying out in pain. He glares at the dinosaur, ignoring Kaslo.
"I hit you, you hit me, back and forth."
He leaps forwards, cutting two jagged lines across the Tyrannosaur's underbelly. ripping two massive crisscrossing wounds across his belly.
"Let's see who hits harder."
The T-rex lunges towards Krav but before he can do anything the belly of the beast rips open from Krav's criss-cross attack, the momentum of the attack lets loose blood and guts all over Krav before it finally drops at Krav's feet.
1300 xp for everyone. I'll post later. I need to get to bed.
Krav sighs, lowering the point of his sword into the ground and leaning on it for a moment as he calms down. He looks towards what remains of Drita, then turns to Kaslo and Solis.
Seemingly unable to climb the cliff, Kaslo turns back to face the giant dinosaur, only to hear and partially watch Krav open up its chest cavity.
“Krav, I’m ashamed of myself... I thought for sure it would get the better of us. You are such a formidable opponent. I hope to never draw the attention of your blade.”
looking at the remains of Drita. “What a terrible way to go. I suppose we should try our best to give her some semblance of a burial. And where the heck is Solis?”
After a little burial and a few words for the newest member that the Jungle has claimed, Krav, Kaslo, and Solis continue following the tracks from the rest of the group and find where they climbed. The make the climb and follow in the footsteps of the others until they find the rest of the group.
I'll start the Pirate Invasion tomorrow but I figured you guys could tell what happened to Drita to the rest of the group.
Yellow hears movement in the jungle and makes a noise to alert Kvothe and Taggart as she grabs her sword and shield. Crouching and ready to attack, she realizes it's their friends and she relaxes. "We thought you were staying near the gate. We were going to let you in."
Krav shakes his head calmly. His dark green clothes are soaked in blood, some of which is slowly dripping from a gash in his shoulder.
"We were attacked by a dinosaur. It killed Drita, but we managed to kill it in turn," Krav says in a neutral tone. He realizes he is still holding his greatsword at the ready and slowly puts it back in his shoulder scabbard, a once-awkward action made smooth through weeks of practice.
As he waits for a reply, Krav stares at the dirt a few yards away, eyes unfocused.
Yellow closes her eyes and bows her head. For several heartbeats, she says and does nothing. "She was a fine warrior," the tabaxi finally says quietly. She lifts her chin and looks at Krav. "A champion." She looks around at Kaslo and Solis. "Praise Ubtao you three remain." She makes a small gesture with her hand and kisses her fingers toward the sky. This time, though, the gesture seems a little more like habit and less like conviction. "I will remember her fondly," she says finally, turning to find a place to sit and think.
Muttering something under his breath, Krav doesn't seem to notice either Yellow's words or Kvothe's outstretched waterskin. He stands in place for a few minutes before sitting down.
"I'll take first watch,"he says, then gets to setting up camp.
Come nightfall Kvothe takes-off his leather duster folds it up and puts it into his pack which he carries on his chest. His wings are now free if he needs them in a hurry. He sets off for the rope ladder and constantly on the look-out for trip wires and watching where he places his feet, particularly when he reaches the bottom, he starts to climb down stealthily. Once he gets to the bottom he tugs on the rope ladder so everyone knows to follow him down.
The walls inside the cavern are very slick and would be difficult to climb. You hide behind a few crates that are randomly placed here for some reason as you wait for the rest to climb down. You notice the two guys on the watchtower are awake and are being very cautious and perceptive.
They each hold crossbows in their hands and have maces hanging from their belts. There are lights lit on top of the tower.
This ramshackle watchtower stands 30 feet above “dry” land. It’s surrounded by a crenelated parapet that provides half cover to defenders. A ballista is also mounted on the tower. It can be used against vessels intruding in the anchorage, but it’s primarily for defense against large reptiles threatening the jungle wall. Two pirates are always on duty atop the tower, You do see a large brass gong on top of the tower while you climb down.
Taggart is next to climb down and makes it to the bottom without any problems and ducks behind the crates. Yellow is third and finds herself behind the crates without making a sound.
Down on the ground where you are behind the crates it is very dark.
I need to wait for everyone to climb down before we continue and I need the stealth rolls. Kvothe, Yellow, and Taggart you can post if you are doing anything down there while you are waiting for people to climb down.

OOC: Everyone? Even those of us up on the cliff? It's good to see Krav covered in blood and guts once again.
Krav sighs, lowering the point of his sword into the ground and leaning on it for a moment as he calms down. He looks towards what remains of Drita, then turns to Kaslo and Solis.
"It's dead."
"And I'm dirty again, pah!" he mutters.
And that's all I have to say about that.

Solis comes running back to the others and bows his head in a moment of silence for Drita.

Krav looks calmly towards Kaslo, a relatively blank expression on his face.
"I'll admit, I was not sure I'd survive. But I had to avenge Drita. You know?"
He points towards the trees that the rock came from.
"Solis is over there. Probably in shock or something. But yes, we should bury Drita..." he says, looking through his pack carefully.
"No shovel, though. I should probably buy one the next time we're in the city."
And that's all I have to say about that.

He doesn't say anything, but sits down and takes a long drink of water. He avoids eye contact with everyone.

Kvothe just nods to the party, pulls out his waterskin and offers it to Krav without saying anything.
