Kvothe checks his crossbow and keeps watch on the pirates in the watchtower trying to judge if the tower has any blindspots (zones) where he can scale its walls and reach the top without being seen by the pirates in the tower. Every now and then he looks up at the rope ladder and prays to Mask "Lord of the Shadows, please don't let them kick loose a rock or some such."

Krav shrugs in response to Kaslo and begins to descend the rope ladder. The guards appear to be unaware of Krav's presence and he drops the remaining few feet, landing softly on the ground.

Taggart will have his bow out and look for ways to move farther in and avoid the sight of the tower, or if they can to a place where the tower is blocked by the ship

Yellow closes the lid on the last crate of fish packed in ice and squats next to Kaslo. "When we got to the edge of the cave's overhang, we couldn't see any better inside from above than we could from outside the wall. Kvothe searched and found the access through the ceiling. We decided the best plan was to get inside and open the gate to let you all in. That way, we could actually see what we're dealing with. There's no need to open the gate, so now we can assess the situation and act. Our primary goal is to stay alive. Besides that, we have pirates to conquer, two ships and two captain to capture, and prisoners to rescue. Then, we wait for the third ship to return and capture it as well." She smiles at the dwarf. "Easy."
At this point Kvothe chimes in and says "I can't see any blind spots that would allow somebody to get to the the top of the watchtower without being seen."He continues "but I reckon even with half-cover I could take one out from here"he says patting his crossbow "and I reckon Taggart could get the other." He goes on to say "you know it'd be much easier to just bring the pirates captains' heads in but that'd blow our reward!"

The way the tower is, the guards can see anywhere you move to. If you can make the dash northward you figure you'd be able to lean up against the wall and not been seen for a brief time. But the guards are very watchful and alert at night it seems.
"Some of them look formidable," Yellow says, recalling the forms they had seen earlier. "But wearing only loin cloths or nothing at all and weilding no weapons doesn't sound like much more than meat shields to me. We'd be sentencing them to death."
"Is that any better than how the pirates treat them? I don't know how things work here, but in my old cl...where I used to live, most of what we'd call prisoners were not treated very well. Seems some might take their chances with us if we gave them it. And for equipment, well..." Krav grins a bit for the first time in a while.
"Depending on how many pirates we see before we reach them, it may not be a problem."

"I agree with Krav, we should attempt to free the prisoners if we can"

“Hey where’s everyone going? What’s the plan here?”
kaslo looks rather confused when Yellow, Taggart and Kvothe disappear without explaining what they are doing.
being so dark in here and people climbing down the ladder and bumping into you, it's hard for you to notice anything.

And that's all I have to say about that.
Yellow inspects the crates.

Krav speaks up for the first time in a while, though he keeps his voice quiet.
"Who are these prisoners, again? Do we think if we freed them they would fight against the pirates with us?"
And that's all I have to say about that.

Yellow nods. "I will assist in any way I can."
"But what are we going to do about those tossers up there" Kvothe whispers pointing at the guards.

Yellow looks over and around the crates. "Where did you say you saw the prisoners?"
OOC: I just realized the group that went above first didn't see the prisoners, only the ones that stayed behind did, so I'm changing it to hearsay.
Eyeing the bell, Yellow asks, "Does anyone happen to know a silence spell?"
