KRan keep that sword ready, let’s follow th wall to the east and around Kvothe and yellownshould be able to see us from the tower and help or support us from there.
Taggart will get a torch out to provide light in a 20 foot area and dim like out to 40 and begin leading the group still at the bottom of the ladder around the cavern.
Kvothe flies back down and gets Solis "C'mon mate - jesus you're a bit of a deadweight you know" and flies back up to the watch tower. He doesn't put Solis down quite as gently as he did Yellow. He turns to Yellow and says "now to go organise this bunch of slackers". He then flies back down to the cavern where he thought the others were waiting. "Where the hell have they gone?"he thinks to himself and then he spots the torch light off in the distance "oh that way!" He puts his frontpack back on again and flies back up to the watchtower. He turns to Yellow and says "when I got back down there they already left." He points out the torch light off in to the east and says "you see that - well that's them".
"Then go!" Yellow says to Kvothe. "No, wait." She looks around the cave, above the structures. "If it's dark enough above everything and you think you can stay out of sight, maybe you should fly above. Provide support from the air. Not too high that you can't. What do you think? Either way, go! Solis and I will be watching from here." Yellow then points at the ballista. "Figure out how that thing works," she says to Solis. "I'm going to see if I can disable this bell."
OOC: I'm still waiting to find out if Solis and I should have put on anything the pirates were wearing to make us appear we're the two pirates from a distance.
"Sorry but no, we stay together and we stay put" Kvothe says to Yellow. "I dunno where they were going but you can't get over to the prisoners unless you use that walkway over there" he points out the walkway on their level that crosses the inlet. "That means unless they can climb rocks or want to go for a swim they have to come back here!"
As yellow gets dropped off onto the Watchtower, Kvothe flies back down to get Solis. Yellow searches the pirates for any 'costume' items she could find and the only thing that really sticks out if the yellow cloaks. Otherwise, they are wearing the armor and carrying maces.
The bell is smallish in nature. Maybe a foot long and you wouldn't think it is loud but it probably is if it is up here in the watchtower. (make an investigation check to see if you can disarm it.) As Yellow is investigating the Bell, Kvothe drops off Solis and goes and mans the Ballista. It's simple enough to use, aim and pull the trigger.
Taggart lights a torch and heads out with (Kaslo, Krav, Weloh?) to the east and passes the twin wooden doors on the boat turned building. You can hear music and laughter coming from behind the doors as you try and tiptoe past. (Everyone makes a Stealth check, Weloh did already) You make it to the corner of the boat/building and look around it and see a ship in the harbor attached to the docks. You notice a pirate in the crows nest keeping watch. You can't make out the wording on the side of the boat from this distance. (basically, Taggart and co are 30' north of #1 on the map and 1 square over)
As Yellow looks over the bell she finds out there is an easy way t disable the bell and does it without any problems. Looking around the watchtower you notice across the walkway there are three 'rooms' that have 2 people sleeping in each one. You also have a good view of the ship in the cave and the ship in the bay.
There are a lot of people sleeping on the deck of each ship. There is a pirate in both crows nests. Across the bay you can barely make out the prisoners cage and you can see a good 20 people huddled in there together. As you are looking around the Pirate on the crows nest outside begins flashing a pattern with a hooded lantern towards the boat in the Bay. After a moment the boat in the Bay flashes a set of light patterns towards the watchtower.
You look around and see a hooded lantern on the ground next to the alarm bell.
After the lights flash, Yellow and Kvothe look at each other. Yellow can tell from Kvothe's face that he is worried about the pattern. "I think I caught it," the tabaxi says. She picks up the lantern and mimics the pattern, holding her breath.
Krav begins to follow Taggart, but stops short when he sees the genasi head to the left. Krav shakes his head, pointing the others to the right, and hoping that Taggart will turn and see.
The roof of the cave looms 60 feet above the water, on average (this varies a bit with the tide). It’s 50 feet above ground level and 20 feet above the top of the watch tower and gantry. Two natural stone columns sit across the mouth of the inlet with only a 25-foot gap between them, so that ships must be carefully towed into the cave by small boats and maneuvered with ropes once they’re inside.
The watchtower and the entire elevated walkway from the tower to the warehouse have crenelated parapets for defense. These provide half cover. There is a door on the watchtower that you assume goes into the building below you.
Whichever pirate ship is in port is tied up at this pier. Cargo is offloaded using the crane at the warehouse. The pier is covered in slick moss and perpetually in need of repair.
Two small boats are kept here. One is a simple dinghy used mainly for carrying food and water to prisoners. The other is a small cutter with six oars and a single mast, used for towing ships into and out of the anchorage.
Prisoners are held in this large but filthy cell until they’re ransomed or sold into slavery. High waves sometimes wash into the chamber, soaking everyone and leaving puddles on the floor. Palm logs form the bars across the front of the cage
The group heads eastward (forget what I wrote before. My mistake) and hugs the wall making it to the edge of the water. As you peer down into the water you notice the land slopes at a small angle before it gets to the water. This rocky slope runs around the whole cave and you would be able to move across it but it would be very difficult (difficult terrain Dex/Acrobatics DC 10 or fall in the water) to navigate due to the angle of the slope and the slipperiness of the rocks.

Yellow looks at Kvothe and Solis as she put the lantern down. "I hope it worked. Keep an eye on those two crows nests," she says to Solis. Yellow adopts a pattern of activity similar to what she had seen the two guards doing before they attacked them. Meanwhile, she's keeping a lookout for any trouble.

From your vantage point, you notice four people skulking around to the east near the shoreline. two of them look like Dwarves, one is a Lizardfolk and the last is a Genasi holding a torch.
You notice the people sleeping in the "rooms" across the walkway and the pirates sleeping on the ship.
Yellow huffs. "If you were with them, you could help them," she gripes toward Kvothe, "now that we know they need to be up here. As it is, they're going to be seen and then heard when they fall in."
"Looks a little slippery to me. Hey, Taggart. Can't you do a magic trick where you float or something like it? Maybe you could get across with a rope, and we could tie it to both ends of this rocky area. That may make it easier to cross."
Krav does not accept the spear or the crossbow.
"Thanks," he says, "but that was just for surprising them." Krav draws his greatsword.
"I'll be much better with this."
And that's all I have to say about that.
"My pleasure Ma'am" Kvothe says. He continues "I'm not leaving you up here alone, so I'll go get Solis and be write back."
