Kaslo looks to the others who still need to cross, "If ye wish, I can pray to Lathander to watch over as ye cross. Just say the word, and it shall be done"
Kaslo is offering to cast Guidance to anyone that wants some help getting across (roll 1d4, and add it to the ability check. It's concentration, and I apply it one at a time)
Kvothe looks across the ravine. He holds up his hand. He then puts two fingers near his eyes and then points towards the jungle. He repeats the signal a few times.
Yellow grabs hold of the rope and looks at Kaslo. "I'm not sure how Ubtao feels about Lathander, but let's both pray to our gods that I'll get to the other side before whatever Toruk has spotted attacks."
Athletics: 23
I'm going to go ahead and use Kaslo's offering of Guidance (before I know the result of my athletics, so I'm hoping it isn't a waste — since Kvothe completely ignored her suggestion of using his rope — and she doesn't know that Ezio has one of his own): 3
Crap. I hate wasting a spell slot. Especially when it's someone else's. After she gets over there, she'll wield her shield and sword and hide as best she can.
Seeing no object on which to secure the rope, Ezio ties it diagonally around his chest. He then walks to Taggart and hands him the other end to tie around his waist. "Once you make it to the other side take a secure position and prepare for Kalso to cross (we will tie my end of the rope around him), should he fall, you can pull him up the far side once I have slowed him. Should you fall, do so silently, as to not alert whatever they have discovered over there. Trust that I will slow your descent and pull you towards the cliffside. All you will have to do is climb back up."
He turns to Kalso and says, "You will be after Taggart, once you cross I'll manifest a spectral hand near you. Untie your end of the rope and it will bring it back here to tie around myself." Addressing both men he finishes with, "Of course, should you enter combat on the far side, forget about the rope, cut it if you have to. Those of us still on this side will make due."
Taggart waves off the rope from Ezio. “I got this.” His eyes flash yellow while he mutters in primordial casting Levitate
Light as the air of my ancestors
You realize his feet are no longer touching the ground. He takes the rope crossing the chasm and beings pulling himself along effortlessly like his body has no weight.
"Interesting, I have never seen primordial magic used before. I will hand you the rope on the other side so that you may pull Kalso up should he fall." Ezio says to the gensai before turning to the dwarf with lazy grin, "Unless you are also hiding fantastic abilities?"
Ezio then utters an incantation in sylvan and a tyrian purple hand appears next to him. He unties the rope from his chest and places the end in the grasp of the translucent hand. When Taggart reaches the far side of the chasm, the hand moves after him to place the rope within his reach.
Kaslo clambers onto the rope and begins to shimmy across it like everyone else before him, as he gets towards the center of the rope it begins to dip downward. The wind begins to pick up as Kaslo begins to swing from side to side a little before the rope breaks and he loses his grip on it at the same time. A look of horror appears on Kaslo's face for a second as he begins to freefall down into the river.
Quickly, Ezio mutters some arcane words in Sylvan and points at Kaslo. Kaslo's body begins to slowly descend towards the river. Kaslo hits the river as the spell ends and the current begins to pull him along. (Make a strength check Kaslo) Taggart heaves on the rope and begins to reel Kaslo in like a big fish.
As Kaslo is falling Kvothe takes out his crossbow and begins to load a bolt when all chaos breaks loose.
Out of the bushes, A yellow colored 2-foot high frog carrying a shortbow jumps 25 feet in the air, Kvothe aims his crossbow and takes a shot at the frog and hits him square in the chest(8 piercing damage), and lands in the middle of Kvothe, Vyth, Krav, Yellow, and Taggart and begins to croak loudly and wildly.
Kvothe, Krav, Vyth, Yellow, and Taggart need to make wisdom saving throws of dc 12 or be stunned until after the Yellow Grung goes again.
One arrow comes flying out of the brush, Attack: 13 Damage: 6 at Vyth but sails over his head harmlessly.
You can hear strange croaks and clicks coming from the brush and the ground in a 20-foot radius around Kvothe begins to twist as hard spikes and thorns spring out of the ground underneath everyone's feet. The ground is now difficult terrain and it costs double movement. spike growth
The whole clearing on this side of the ravine where the rope hangs is 20'. So basically all the ground in this area has the thorns and spikes. The only way out of it would be to jump into the ravine or run into the jungle.
You hear more croaking coming from the bushes as two daggers fly out towards each person on this side of the ravine.(So 2 attacks on everyone for a total of 10 attacks)
Kvothe: Attack: 23 Damage: 4 Attack: 8 Damage: 3
Vyth: Attack: 24 Damage: 7 Attack: 13 Damage: 5

Yellow: Attack: 20 Damage: 5 Attack: 16 Damage: 4
Taggart: Attack: 24 Damage: 9 Attack: 7 Damage: 3

Everyone was surprised the first round except Kvothe. Kvothe, Yellow Grung, and Vyth are up but you need to make the saves to see if your stunned and the saves if you were hit by daggers. You can only see one Grung and that is the Yellow one. He is standing in the middle of everyone. The others you notice spread out in the jungle and are considered to be in 3/4 cover,
A target with three-quarters cover has a +5 bonus to AC and Dexterity saving throws. A target has three-quarters cover if about three-quarters of it is covered by an obstacle. The obstacle might be a portcullis, an arrow slit, or a thick tree trunk
Ezio is still on the far side. Taggart is holding the rope and needs to use his action to pull Kaslo up or he can drop him. Kaslo can't do anything this round, hopefully, you will be on land after this round. Ezio. The Yellow Grung is about 40' away from where you are standing at the edge of the ravine.
Secret roll to see if the yellow grungs power has recharged mwhaahhaha: 1
As the loud croak sounds from the (ironically) yellow attacker, Yellow's eyes go wide and her jaw clinches. She narrows her eyes and looks around in a daze. From out of the woods, two daggers streak toward her. One catches her, but the other mercifully misses. She grunts in response, lethargically swaying.
For my turn I'll cast entangle into the jungle and try to snag as many of the dudes as possible. For my bonus action I'll use shillelagh on my quarter staff.

and then steps back out of the combat using his Cunning Action (disengage).
As Kvothe stabs the Elite Grung Warrior in the chest the frog bellows out a massive croak of pain, Kvothe seeing his opportunity disengages from the frog and moves back 15' taking 15 piercing damage from the spike growth falling unconscious from the thorny spikes and vines.
The yellow Grung drops his bow and pulls out his dagger as he spins towards Chevall Yellow and thrusts the dagger towards her right leg. Attack: 21 Damage: 5 (If hit make a dc 12 con save for 2 poison damage if missed)
Vyth pulls out the dagger from his leg and speaks a few words in Druidic as he points his fingers towards the Grung in the jungle. Leafy vines and branches spring up out of the ground entangling some of the Grung. He then touches his Quarterstaff and a greenish glow erupts from his hand and flows along the quarterstaff for a moment before stopping.
From inside the jungle, one of the Red Grung begins to croak and click and hops in the air as he points towards Ezio casting spike growth. Thorny spikes and vines begin to fill the clearing all around Ezio.
The other Red Grung croaks and wiggles his fingers when he is done his skin takes on a bark-like quality. barkskin He then jumps and lands right next to Krav and croaks at him menacingly as he pulls a dagger from his belt.
