Storm will float closer to Casey, as he does so he starts to pray as his hand pulses with divine energy. As soon as he touches Casey a wave passes through her as her wounds start to close up. "Have to make sure you stay in this fight my friend." After that he looks over at Aino, "Aino, I am coming to you as well."
Cast Cure Wounds: 5 and another 4 from inspiration for a total of 9 healing for Casey
(OOC: I am actually in Florida on vacation until Saturday so I am hoping the hurricane doesnt hit too hard as well)
(Yep - good luck with the trip and best wishes to anyone near the path of the hurricane).
I know the PCs are all roped together. I can't remember, can Aino still make the INT or DEX check to move and get within 5' of the griffon?
Her walk speed while bladesinging is 40', though of course she's not walking. I figure she'd have to go 10' to get within 5' of the griffon if it is 15' away. Does it pull the others along, or maybe she lets out slack on the rope?
Identifying a leverage point, Aino once again uses the greater mass of Kileprat and Storm to swing around them on the rope towards the griffon, letting out slack. As she glides by Storm, she gives the paladin a rueful grin. "Might need to be brought up from unconscious if this griffon keeps it up."
Her owl familiar, Thumbtack flies in the face of the griffon once more, taking the help action to grant advantage before flying back. Aino tries to use the angular momentum of her swing as she thrusts at the monstrosity, while also bringing her Flaming Sphere around to slam into its back.
Action: Rapier, +1 attack on griffon with Booming Blade: To hit (advantage): 13 (lol, rolled a 6 and a 4 at advantage, but hopefully still enough with +7 bonus). Magical piercing damage: 7 (one above min). Thunder damage from Booming Blade: 7 (one below max).
Bonus Action: Flaming Sphere slams into griffon from the other side. DC 15 DEX Save: On failure: 10 fire damage On success (half): 5 fire damage
Finally, I just realized something: Kileprat should have had advantage on the next d20 she rolled after Aino'sSilvery Barbs spell. That would have been on the Perception check to see the griffon last round where she rolled a 3. Do we want to give her a second roll on that, or just call it a wash on that one and give her advantage on her next d20?
Dm: I'll allow the reroll it will give you a chance not to lose rage, dont think you attacked or where attacked. Choice is yours on what you want to do
The Griffen rolled a 14 so close but still a fail.
The Griffen will retaliate.
Beak attack: 25 to hit for. Lol 5 damage (rolled a 1)
Claw attack: 19 to hit. Miss
DM: I checked the dice roll them 10 times and got 5 nat 20s while awesome a bit fishy I switch it out.
So I think Aino needs to avoid metagaming here. If she knew that the attack would do min 5 damage, she would probably just let it hit and save a spell slot. But she wouldn't know that beforehand and would assume that the hit would knock her out.
So she casts Shield as a reaction using her last 1st level slot. Her AC becomes 26 until her next turn and both the 25 and 19 miss. In addition to the flaming sphere, Did Aino's 13 hit the griffon with piercing and thunder damage? (Maybe should have used bardic inspiration... forgot).
I think @Nontyper has 2 turns now - one for Kileprat's previous turn if she wants to re-roll Perception since she had advantage and maybe attack, and then after that, her current turn now. Hopefully we are wearing the griffon down. Not much time left before we go splat on the ground.
DM: yes the 13 was a hit. Also ro clarifie kileprat can roll a perception check to see if you can attack twice (first attack would be at disadvantage) or roll with advantage some other time but I think you will lose rage I'd I remember how rage reads.
Casey reorients herself, looks around, and sees the Griffon near the badly injured Aino. She uses healing word to heal Aino for 7 HP and then shoots a bolt of green energy from her free hand eldritch blast at the Griffon for a 17 to hit and 9 force damage. She says “ok team- we’re coming into the arena now. Let’s give ‘em a show— and thanks, Strom fer the healin!”. She repositions herself to avoid a direct charge from the Griffon
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Both attacks hit. The Griffen is looking like a stiff wind would kill it.
End of round. The party eats up another block of air. You can hear the roar of the crowd as you fall. As you get closer to the ground Aino you since a arcane energy start to build.
Aino draws a sharp intake of breath, gasping as Casey'sHealing Word magically knits up most of the large wound in her side.
Just in case the griffon is not dead yet from Storm's attack, she tries to make sure, having Thumbtack take the help action and attacking the griffon with her Rapier, +1 and Booming Blade while using her bonus action to slam her Flaming Sphere into the beast.
Action: Rapier, +1 attack on griffon with Booming Blade: To hit (advantage): 19 Magical piercing damage: 12 Additional thunder damage from Booming Blade: 3
Bonus Action: her Flaming Sphere slams into griffon from the other side. DC 15 DEX Save: On failure: 8 fire damage On success (half): 4 fire damage
She feels the arcane energy build up around her. She hopes it is magic that will remove them from free fall. But in case it is not, at the end of the turn if the party is still falling, when they get within 60' of the ground, she casts Feather Fall on herself and the others as a reaction (triggering event is party still falling and within 60' of impact). Feather Fall is a 1st level spell and she's used all her first level slots, so she would burn her last 2nd level slot.
Choose up to five falling creatures within range. A falling creature's rate of descent slows to 60 feet per round until the spell ends. If the creature lands before the spell ends, it takes no falling damage and can land on its feet, and the spell ends for that creature.
You where next to Casey so you need to pass the DC 10. You angle your body so you can glide over to the Griffen but as you ready your attack you loose slip steam and spin. You right yourself but are unable to move closer.
Aino locked in the duel with the Griffen your final attack straps what little life it has left. You feel the creature slip away as you focus on the timing to cast your spell.
Seconds before impact you cast feather fall. Blue sparks surround you and you know (passive insight) a counter spell when you see one.
The ground rises up to meet the party.......
You all find yourselves in the ready room once again battered, brused and a bit wind burnt.
Sorath standing by another portal on the wall. Please step through and collect your prize for beating the challenge.
“Woah… I thought we were going to get crushed at the end there! Everyone ok? Nice fight- I bet we made some fans..!” Casey says. And then, “thank you” to Sorath, as she steps through the portal…
"Yeah baby, Good fight, you new guys did good. Glad to have you on board, we may win a few more." Kileprat looks around. "Anybody in the mood for some KFC?"
Aino, looking worse for wear, smiles brightly at the others. Goes around and high-fives everyone. It's clear just how young she is - barely an adult.
She keeps an amiable grin on her face when she hears Kileprat's question about "KFC", but wonders confusedly if it is a goliath tradition or catchphrase.
Never having heard of Kentucky or had fried chicken before, Aino keeps quiet, hiding her ignorance and nodding at Sorath as she steps through the portal.

In my head I pictured it like mountain climbers so you can make the move to the Griffen if you pass a DC 10 check.
Aino DC 10 INT check: 17

Yep definitely would lose rage if she spends a round not making any attacks against enemies nor taking any damage.
Unless she wants to punch herself! But she can always rage again as a bonus action on her next turn before making her next attacks.

Kileprat perception for last round advantage: 10.
Kileprat will go reckless this attack, giving her advantage. Swings her greataxe
To hit: 21 damage: 15
Bonus action: Rage w frenzy
"I will be eating a chicken leg tonight baby."

Once again nothing affects the party.
Storm is up.
"Great fighting guys, I hear the roar of the crowd." Kileprat is really feeling the fight right now. "WooooHooooo"
Storm looks to the others, “Let’s end this bird!” With that Storm throws himself at the griffin.
Attack: 22 Damage 11
