So clearly, Aino is going to use her reaction to cast Silvery Barbs on the T. Rex's natural 20 on Storm.
Jagged silver-blue streaks of light shoot from Aino's hand, distracting the T. Rex , forcing them to re-roll their attack. The distraction also provides advantage to one of her allies (Kileprat) on her next d20 roll.
(That's 3 of 4 1st level spell slots used up now for Aino).
Also, since this happened before Aino's own last turn, her reaction would now be reset for anything after her own turn.
OOC: Thank you for the save, also I had to remember how much HP I had lol, also I am loving the Barbs spell, making me think I need to play a Bard sometime.
So with Storm being beside me, I would get a sentinel attack.
"When the Trex bites Storm, Kileprat will scream. "Not on my watch!" and swing with last quip To hit: 17 Damage: 12
Con save for sleep: 21 "Get out of my head *****, you have already tried twice, I aint falling for it."
** Not sure if T2 is down, not sure what storm will do, will post my move after I know. I also still have my advantage from Aino, wouldn't have used it for reaction attack**
Aino's turn was after T. Rex 2's attack on Storm, so her reaction resets on her turn. With her free hand, she brings up a blue arcane Shield to block Death's attack. Her AC goes from 23 to 28 until her next turn, so Death's attack (24) misses. That's her last 1st level spell slot, will have to upcast from here...
As the DM implied, Aino is immune to magical sleep, having fey ancestry from being a half-elf, so no save necessary for her.
Kileprat, unfortunately has to use the advantage from Silvery Barbs on the very next d20 roll she makes, the way I read the spell. It's not like inspiration which you can hang on to and use selectively. So here (unfortunately?), it has to be used on the Sentinel reaction attack d20 roll.
And I think the Sentinel reaction attack does still get triggered here. T. Rex doesn't have to hit, just make an attack on an ally within 5' of Kileprat.
OOC: Thank you for the save, also I had to remember how much HP I had lol, also I am loving the Barbs spell, making me think I need to play a Bard sometime.
OOC: Bards (like Casey!) are great, but Wizards (like Aino) and Sorcerers also get access to Silvery Barbs and unlike most Bards, the latter two also get Shield and Absorb Elements as reactions. Really Silvery Barbs is not normally quite this good.
For example, if we were facing a larger number of mid-sized enemies, Silvery Barbs only forces a re-roll on one attack, which might only be moderate damage, and it does nothing for all the other attacks like Shield would. But especially with Bushawk's rules here, a single CRIT from one or two big baddies is truly massive damage (100+!), so suddenly Silvery Barbs becomes way more important as a defensive tool to force a re-roll.
By the way @Bushawk, now that the 2nd T. Rex zombie is down, I hope you don't mind that I looked up their stat block. And I think I have been messing up how I do Crits, for Aino at least. What I have been doing is rolling non-crit damage, then doubling. So say for her Rapier, +1 normally does 1d8+6. I have been rolling 1d8, and getting say a 4. Then 4 + 6 = 10 and doubling 10 gets 20.
But I think the way I'm supposed to do it here is use max for double the die roll. So max for 2d8+6 = 16 + 6 = 22. I think that is how the T. Rex zombie (almost) got over 100 damage on the crit against Storm. Does that sound right, @Bushawk? 4d12+7 damage so max of 8d12 + 7 = 96 + 7 = 103.
Basically use the usual crit damage but assume you get the max roll on all the dice?
Correct. So if you normally get a 2d8+6 for a crit your crit damage is always 22. It's an idea I herd about on a pod cast and I like it makes nat 20s feel more exciting.

Cool - I got it now. Will do it right going forward. Hopefully Aino has a chance to - crits should happen 1 in 7 with 3d20s from Elven Accuracy.
Kileprat your 3 hits strike gone cutting Death into three pieces.
You hear the chant pick up again
What is dead may never die.
I grow tired of this. Defeat me and I'll let you live.
Death comes up out of the ground in the center between Casey and the rest. He rips off his robe to reveal a knight in jet black armor. When you look at the armor you see souls in agony.
Death metal starts to play. Casey you feel and unknown force pull you towards death till your 30 feet away. A ring of fire sounds death and the party cutting off escape. Death holds out his hand and a scythe appears from a dark void.
OOC: If it wasnt clear, Storm is definitely down. When do I make death saves? Never actually gone down before...

Seeing his TRex about to go down. Death will move towards the party and attack Aino.
24 to hit 14 damage.
Everyone who can be affected by the sleep spell make a Con Save DC 14. Storm your immune.

So storm was not hit due to Silvery barbs. TRex is still alive with not much life left.
