I'm looking for three to five PCs to take place in a homebrew Campaign set in the Sword Coast.
I will be active mainly Monday-Friday with a few posts on the weekend. This campaign will take place entirely in a DND Beyond forum thread. I'll try to schedule combat for when all PCs are active. PCs must meet the following requirements:
-Active at least once a day
-Characters must be level 1 and use official content only.
-Be PG-13 at all times
-Your character must have a deep backstory (reply to this with your backstory) and 1 secret that you can DM me about.
-Be somewhat familiar with rolling dice in the forum
-Your must use POINT BUY or the standard array for your Ability Scores
-Ideally, please be from around the Baldur's Gate area.
Please post your backstory down below, and I will DM you to join the campaign.
(Please note that this is my version of the Forgotten Realms, not from any other source other than a simple map of the Sword Coast)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
When will you choose...
Qin'tar T'saria Half-Drow Warlock Chaotic Good Backstory Qin always frowned upon his upbringing. Having been raised by the noble family of T'saria, there were always servants, rules, tradition. Qin would sneak out frequently to play with other children, have fun with other teens and party with the common folk. Qin was in fact a bastard, but his father still wanted the best for him since his mother was a mistress very much in his favor. So Qin was schooled by the noble house teachers, versed in the ways of their servitude to the Queen of Air and Darkness and trained as a Warlock. Qin never really enjoyed what he called the prison of royalty, he always felt that the duties and traditions outweighed any benefits or wealth. He also had a kind heart even though he was known for his erratic and mischievous behavior. Finally his father lost his patience with him and kicked him out of the house, with but a few gold to his name and a wealth of knowledge he said his goodbyes to his mother and ventured out into the world to make his own name. He has spent a few years in and around Baldur's Gate, getting to know the area and some of it's people well. Every now and then he received a parcel from his mother with some gold and a letter. But it has now been a year and having been forced into ever cheaper accommodations Qin has started to grow worried about his mother. He knows he has to make a name for himself and gather wealth and power to be able to return to his father and find out what has happened to his mother. So the time of adventuring begins.
Do you have an adventure already in mind or will you come up with one after characters are set? Is there a specific tone or theme you're after? I've been wanting to play this one but I have alternatives if this one doesn't seem to fit.
Theodoric of the Ironheart
Mountain Dwarf Barbarian
Prince Theodoric is the first son of Lord Gundarr Greatshield and heir to the throne of the Ironheart. He grew up as all nobles should, trained in in the lore of the dwarves and the ways of battle. His life as a dwarf of privilege came to an abrupt end at the age of 92. The miners of the IronHeart unearthed a dreadful evil deep within the mountain. Savage creatures surged from the earth, slaughtering every dwarf they could find. With the Ironheart facing extermination, a desperate plan was hatched. The fort's vault held a relic of an ancient battle, an orb dripping with dark and demonic magic. It would turn anyone who touched it into a mindless, bloodthirsty berserker. They would take volunteers into the mine, imbue them with the berserker curse, and seal them in with the monsters. 50 dwarves volunteered, Theodoric the youngest of them. When they unsealed the mine, only seven remained. But the curse had not finished its work yet. The berserker spirit carried on within the survivors. Their rage made them volatile and dangerous. The elders of the IronHeart decided it would not be safe for them to remain in the dwarven lands. Theodoric was removed from the line of succession, and he and the other six survivors were banished from the dwarven realm. Theodoric now roams the land, looking for a way to remove the berserker curse that burns within him.
As a question: What kind of hook are you looking for to bring the party together? Did we know each other prior to the adventure? Or were we called together by someone? I want to be able to incorporate that into the overarching idea I have for Scree's backstory.
Backstory Jacrith spent most of his youth growing up in the near lawless, impoverished expanse located outside of the city walls of Baldur’s Gate known as the Outer city. His life there was, for the most part, eventful and while the family didn’t have much but his parents did their best to make sure that Jarcith and his sibling has a good life as possible. One night the house was set ablaze and he was the only one to escape while the other members of this family were trapped inside the burning home. Having no other relatives he found this himself alone. Jacrith did what he could to survive during those early years he would do some small job to earn some coin, or sometime he would steal what he need to. When he reached adulthood he was leaving seeking to make a better life for himself. He would eventually join up with some mercenaries, and he would work with them for many years. In time they would almost be like a second family to him, though this wouldn’t last. Two years after he joined the mercenaries took a job that seemed simple but went badly when they were ambushed by the very bandits they had been hired to hunt down. Many of the mercenaries were killed including two who had become close friends of his. It was shortly after this that Jacrith decided it was time to part ways is his comrades and set out on his own again.
Hello there! Hoping I can make the boat with my character...
Character Name: Mursager
Race: Variant Human (Fey Touched: Wisdom)
Class: Druid (Order of the Stars)
Background: Anthropologist
Personality: Mursager is a curious soul, he loves meeting new people and learning about their culture. He is most comfortable surrounded by a large number of people plentiful and different. He doesn't mind cities or civilized places so long as they are not intentionally destroying wilderness and wildlife out of malice, the way he see's it the various races of the world are also part of nature and this is the expression of their habitation much the same way as a mole burrows, or a beaver builds a dam.
Description: Mursager is a fairly short male with long blonde hair and navy blue eyes (with small specks of white and yellow in them). He has tan skin from traveling under the sun and he usually chooses to wear neutral and muted colors of grey, black, and brown. He carries a single visible weapon, a scimitar, and wears leather armor, though neither is particularly worn. The most notable thing about Mursager however is his thin wooden mask that he wears at all times. It is completely black and painted with a smattering of bright points of white, gold, red, and blue, as if mimicking the night sky.
Backstory: Mursager was left for dead in the woods of the High Forest by parents who believed he was a changeling after finding a mark upon his back in the shape of a comet. He of course was not a changeling, but he was in fact blessed by a member of the Fey, something that to this day he is unaware of. A particularly non superstitious group of druids found baby Mursager and saved him from the gruesome death by elements or wild things and brought him up among them. They were all from various races and they were many, but they kept to themselves, living off the land, and teaching a very loose interpretation of druidic teachings mostly focused on maintaining balance between giving and taking. When leaving the forests to get supplies from small villages and to trade they wore masks, and thus became known to others as the Masked Traders. Mursager loved to visit the various villages, human, elven, dwarven, whoever he could meet that was new was exciting to him, and he kept journals describing customs, names, everything. As he got older he was groomed to a be a leader, but tragedy struck. On a night of no stars a mysterious sound surrounded his village, a low hum, and then the rhythmic thwipping of wings. A swarm of giant locusts descended and began to devour anything, and anyone in their path. Only Mursager was spared, the locust attempted to carry him off but he fought them off and was left for dead amongst the trees. It took many months for Mursager to come to grips with what had happened, he searched the forests for any signs of survivors but when he found none he left, donning his mask, and heading toward civilization, he didn't know what he would find, but the forests were too haunting for him to stay any longer.
Persephone was influenced by the name her parents gave her. The "daughter of trhe underworld", she gravitated toward "twilight cleric" when she chose class, largely from "Mother Issues" caused by being forced into the convent like many noble daughters. Persephone is "GOTH", black lipstick and nail polish, black fishnet stockings, corset and garters. Since Selune is Chaotic Good, Persephone can get away with a lot her family and the church high-ups disapprove of (maybe as little as showing ankles, if medieval values are used), as long as she fulfills her Twilight Cleric duties.

I might be interested in this with an Aarakocra Life Domain Cleric named Screechirk Hireek that's originally from the Star Mounts but has been in the Baldur's Gate area for a little bit.

This is a signature. It was a simple signature. But it has been upgraded.

You don't need to know anyone to start in this campaign. I have a plot hook to get everyone together in one place.
The characters can be made in any way, I already have the campaigns basics recorded, but Theodoric would fit perfectly.
Hello there! Hoping I can make the boat with my character...
Looks like you have 5.
I'll check back in to see if it's still open.
Persephone Perianth, Twighlight cleric. More details if have a chance.
Yeah, I'm going to get 1-2 back up characters in case one of the main ones has to leave.
Persephone was influenced by the name her parents gave her. The "daughter of trhe underworld", she gravitated toward "twilight cleric" when she chose class, largely from "Mother Issues" caused by being forced into the convent like many noble daughters.
