Most of the tools look like what you'd expect to find in any blacksmith shop. Piecing together a few of the broken clay mold fragments, you can certainly tell that they were making more of these metal disks here in this forge along with other parts for devices that you are unfamiliar with. Under a work bench, a silvery gleam catches your eye and you fish out one-such disk that is similar in design to what your group already has, though this one seems to be bound in a broken leather strap like it was once worn as a necklace of sorts.

"The mongoose blew out its candle and was asleep in bed before the room went dark." —Llanowar fable
((The sentries weapons are currently facing into the room, though the creatures do not appear to have a face of sorts and their arms look like they could likely go either way, so it's possible that they are actually facing both ways at the same time.))
For Thont:
You find a rather nice looking box with strange circular symbols on it. Sliding off the lid, you find it full of scroll tubes. There are about six scrolls in total, written in the same strange circular language with occasional constellation pictures.

Gavin looks around the room seeing his comrades inspecting the room. “Keep a wide berth from those ‘things’ I prefer we don’t wake them.” While they are looking around I cast my ritual version of detect magic. I pray to Tempus, asking for his divine assistance in seeing arcane objects in the room.
((Are the ice golem things too large to fit in the tube we came in from?))
((The icy sentinels are medium sized, but are wide enough that coming up the tube you guys did would have been a real struggle.))
For Gavin:
The disk Peren found lights up in the familiar glowing mixture of Transmutation and Evocation magic that you are becoming rather used to. The box of scrolls give off the sorts of auras you'd expect from spell scrolls. The ice guards at the door are clearly magical constructs. Other than that, the room is relatively magic free.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
“Looks like you may have some good reading material in your future Maribel.” Gavin also shares his findings with the group. He does another check of the room after casting guidance adding 3 to my check
((Last question, before we decide what we want to do next. Is the forge accessible? Can we make out how it works/what fires it up? I am not opening anything as of yet))
Gavin keeps looking over at the ice creatures, hammer in hand, wondering if they are worth the fight to gain access to the adjoining rooms. He’s got that look in his eye like he’s itching for a fight. “They don’t look so tough” he says to Kathra
((Yes, you can see that the area where the forge fire would be has the usual ash and coal you would expect to find, though there are some glittery bits in there as well that you can't really identify.))

Gavin answers Peren, “Tempus gives me radiant holy fire, but not fire in the sense I think you are thinking of. Not sure if it will melt them, but I am pretty sure it will help in destroying them.”
((I would like to take some of the sand. I imagine I have a pouch of some sort to grab a fist sized sample. Anything else buried in the sand?)) He explains to the group, “We need to collect some things to bring back to Elder Merric so he knows we didn’t just go on a camping trip in the mountains.”
((Sure, you can grab up a handful of ashy quartz sand and put it in a pouch. There is nothing else in the forge fire-pit. The pit itself is cold and looks like it hasn't been used in months.))

“Ok gang, so do we hit these things hard with advantage and take them out quick, or go back down the tube and follow the tunnel. The benefit is we have the advantage here and not sure if we can access both doors going the other way. Plus, if we trigger them later we will be in for a tougher fight. At least this way we get a free shot or two in.”
((Gavin makes a mental note of both doors so he can hope fully recognize them from the other side in the future if need be)j
Possibly stupid question: are the chilly sentries facing us so as to prevent people from leaving or facing away as if to prevent entrance?
I inspect the crucible and area, keeping an eye on our guards...
Perception: 23
((I SEE THE FUTURE lol))

Kathra grunts as she inspects the crucible. "We are not the first unwanted visitors here, it would seem. There are signs of a struggle here."
Peren shows the disk to everyone, and says “These molds were used to make the disks, this disc looks like it may have been a necklace”
Maybe someone or something is trying to prevent anymore of these disk from being made

For Gavin:
You get a good sweep of the room in and don't see anything else of interest.
"Umm.... Maribel... some scrolls for you..." (shows everyone the box and the scrolls)

“Oooh shiny stuff” Gavin says out loud. I pull them out to get a better look at them
((It's similar to quartz crystal sand as far as you can tell. Maybe slightly more sparkly.))
Peren ask Gavin and Mirabel “do you have any fire spells?”
I bet we could melt those creatures

Kathra seems pretty into the idea of fighting ice golems, but she can wait until everyone else is done poking about the forge.
