Slick's eyes go wide and then squint tight at the sounds of horrible whispers in her head. She turns quickly to move back past Carnavon. Marrin flicks her blade out at the fleeing goblin, hitting her hard. Slick nearly goes down but continues to move, only to run into Avaria's blade. The goblin collapses next to the prone Tammer.
Avaria presses forward, slashing ruthlessly at Carnavon. The dragonborn sailor is no slouch and looks to hold his own, but the shear reckless abandon of Avaria's assault lets her breach his defenses. She cuts deeply into his shoulder.

Jan moves to the base of the gangplank, and lets a few head up onto the ship before following after, so that the shroud of shadows still covers as many as possible.
"We need to cut the lines to cast off, I've got daggers for anyone who needs them!"
((Jan has up to 6 daggers to pass out to the prisoners for the purposes of cutting the ship free and/or defending themselves. She'll hang onto the two she already had.))
((I think that takes her movement and action to get onto the ship? If Ethel is lagging behind, Jan would try to keep the shroud from exposing her.))

ON THE WHARF:
Ethel sees Captain Percival and the First Mate slightly ahead of the Hargroves and their hobgoblins. She reaches out with her withering magic and connects with the captain, causing a dark patch of dead skin to appear on his arm.
"What the hell," Captain Percival exclaims, pained by what has happened but not slowed down any. In fact, the pain on his arm, the sight of the burning wharf and people clambering up and onto his ship appears to be having a sobering affect. He grabs the First Mate and starts sprinting around to get to the Rose Marie.
As Jan gets the more vulnerable up on to the ship immediately, she does find some takers for the daggers.
Jisthelek gets a few of the less sensitive goblins to work with him on getting the Rose Marie unmoored. The ropes are thick and heavy but the goblins attack them with a lot of energy. Whether they get through them before the Captain gets there remains to be seen.
Hammerdasher waits with Jan to make sure the weakest get on board the ship. But Ula runs up the gangplank.
BELOW DECK:
Carnavon looks down at this two fallen shipmates, looks back up at Avaria and Marrin and throws his hook and hammer down, angrily.
"You're not going to get away with this," the dragonborn says.
ON DECK:
Ula runs over to the far rails to see if she can get an angle on the rowboat that Ethel pointed out to her. At that distance, in the shadows, she can't be sure who's in there, but if it is Godrick, she'll give it a shot. She closes her eyes for a moment, grips the amulet around her neck tightly, then extends her other hand in the direction of the rowboat.
A flash of light races from Ula's hand towards the rowboat.
The rowboat was just too far for Ula to get to, and the bolt of light fizzles out before it can reach the targets.
Just as that happens, those on the dock and gangway, as well as the deck of the ship can hear the unmistakable sound of bowstrings released and arrows flying through the air. The hobgoblin guards have their bows out and have decided arrows are faster than sprinting.
Hammerdasher manages to get his shield up just in time and catches an arrow that was otherwise headed straight for his throat.
Unfortunately, three of the goblins aren't so quick and the arrows lodge deep into their upper bodies. All three fall to the the surface of the docks, motionless.
Another arrow lands at Jan's feet, missing her completely.
The final arrow goes further than the others, and streaks down to the deck of the ship. Ula yelps in pain as the arrow catches her in the back of the leg.
The two Hargroves continue their run towards the ship, William pulling out a crossbow as he moves along. The hobgoblins, having released their arrows, continue on towards the ship as well.

Ethel looks at the advancing foes and their numbers... then turns to the ropes. She uses another chill touch on one of the remaining mooring ropes, the spectral, skeletal hand clawing at the hemp lines.
Attack: 26 Damage: 1
She continues to use all of her movement to get toward the boat.

Avaria is disappointed as the dragonborn drops her weapons, but then sees what Marrin is trying to do and mirrors her actions. Spinning the great sword around to use the butt of it, she continues to attack recklessly

Jan heads up the rest of the gangplank and hunkers down below the railing before peering over and sending a blast crackling at William.

Presuming that is going to be enough to send Carnavon to the land of dreams -))
Marrin turns to Ava,
"I don't think he is going to be okay for a while after that. Only Jeras is left, unless they added to the crew. We stick together and get Bigge out or split?"
Almost as soon as Carnavon surrenders, Marrin lashes out with her blade. Despite his having dropped his weapon, he had not taken his eyes off Avaria and the one who looked like Tammer. Carnavon easily dances away from the blade.
Unfortunately he dances away from it and straight into Avaria. While Avaria may have intended to go easy on the sailor, her current excited state and her decision to attack recklessly results in one pirate with a split skull lying dead on the deck.
The pair don’t hear any other sounds at the moment, except for the deep rage induced breaths Avaria is taking.
The kitchen is towards the aft on this deck, crates and barrels are piled up and create a meandering pathway that lead to the cabins in the bow.
Another set of stairs lead down to the deck below.
ON THE WHARF:
The fire continues along the wooden wharf, but it’s still mostly burning barrels, rigging, and the like that are on the pier. The pier itself is getting singed but doesn’t appear to be in danger of collapsing yet. But the flames are making their way towards the Rose Marie as well.
Ethel uses her spectral hand to grab hold of one of the ropes securing the Rose Marie. Several strands of the rope whither and snap, but a good three quarters of them remain and the rope holds.
Continuing on, Ethel gets to the gangway that leads up onto the ship.
Jisthelek saws through one rope, but the other goblins are looking more towards the hobgoblin guards then they are to their task of freeing the ship.
ON DECK:
Jan sees Xanthe getting the prisoners into the forward cabin (the one the party enjoyed on their voyage to the island), as well as into the cabin Godrick had used.
Ula yells in frustration now that the rowboat is out of range of her magic. Looking down on the dock and seeing how useless the goblins are, she heads over the side and starts helping Jisthelek.
Dodd guides Gertrude into the captain’s cabin to get her out of sight.
Geffroi has taken the role of guardian over the documents the group had taken from Godrick's lab and he's following Dodd and Gertrude into the forward cabin to get out of harm's way.
Jan lines up William Hargrove and unleashes a crackling beam of energy. William just barely manages to avoid getting hit square in the chest. Instead he manages to twist and the beam passes by harmlessly.
The hobgoblin guards hold up mid-run, and again let six more arrows fly towards the ship.
An arrow falls straight into Jisthelek's thigh, digging deeply into the goblin's muscle. A second one heads straight for Hammerdasher near the railing on he ship, but again he's able to use the shield he acquired and is able to stop it from doing any harm. Three more arrows embed themselves harmlessly into the wooden pier. A final one falls straight down and catches one of the two orcs in the shoulder. The orc roars his anger.
The crossbow bolt sails through the air and catches Ula in the middle of trying to get one of the ropes loose. It hits her square in the side and she winces in pain.
The hobgoblins, Gillian and William continue on towards the Rose Marie. At this pace they should be there in another turn.
The ship has one rope taken care of, one is partially frayed by Ethel but still holding, and two others remain firm.
Breathing hard and ignoring the bodies at her feet, she manages to tell Marrin, "Go. Help the others, I'll head down below and see if anyone else is on board."
BELOW DECK:
Slick's eyes go wide and then squint tight at the sounds of horrible whispers in her head. She turns quickly to move back past Carnavon. "Ava is getting Bigge, only Jeras left of the crew."
