Liavyre confers with her friends, "You are Drow, your deity is Lolth, you hate everything especially elves like me, and you love power. Does that sound acceptable as an answer?"

The two drow statues crumble to dust on the ground. The next statues to head forward are the duergar. (For those not familiar with duergar, think dwarves with spikey razor beards)

You recall the knowledge of these creatures. They were once the dreaded enemies of the dwarves, as drow are to elves. They are creatures of avarice and are never satisfied. Where the dwarves of old had the joy of creations, duergar had the hate of destruction.
Thea:
You have heard about the duergar. They are similar to her, creatures with psionic capabilities. In ages past, they were twisted and tortured by creatures known as Mind Flayers, whom unlocked a psionic inheritance into these grey dwarves. They have since usually shown the innate ability to at least turn invisible, or be able to enlarge themselves. These may be their "spells".
"Hmmmm...we know them as Duergar. But who are the foes...dwarfs in general or rather those that enslaved them? And what are the rules..." You can hear her mumbling to noone in particular while Thea gets more and more lost in thought.
Once again, the statues move one tile closer to the group. (A dragonchess board is 12x8, heading down from top to bottom. They have moved to the third row of eight, the last row holding the ten "good" statues)
State our Name State our Foes State our Rules State our Spells
Thea doesnt feel comfortable enough to respond yet, so she goes over the religious aspects aspects again as she feels those might reveal the rules the duergar statues are talkin about.
Working on the thought of these are the effectively dark reflection of the "good" races, perhaps this is what their rules could be like:
Dwarves strive to their perfection, where they can seat in happiness. Given that, duergar are one who would strive for such things, but never find satisfaction.
Dwarves are content with their laws and wealth. Given that, duergar consider their pockets are never full and will ignore others' laws to try and fill them.
Still obviously nervous and with a hesitant voice, Thea takes a step forward.
"You are Duergar. Your foe is the dwarven kind."She takes a deep breath and then continues. "Your only rule is the insatiable hunger for more. And your spells are invisibility and enlargment."
With that, her voice dies down and she quietly waits for a reaction.
The duergar statues crumble to dust on the floor. There is a moment of quiet, but it is obvious one of the three remaining pairs of statues will quiz next.
(If the party wants to do anything before then, I'll give it a bit for them to work stuff out)
Liavyre says with slight nervousness, "Quite an odd place. I wonder who had all the time to set all of this up? It's quite elaborate. Let's just hope the remaining statues grade on a curve."

Liavyre turns in surprise to the statues that crumble as she inadvertently spoke the correct answer.
She sees the other two move forward and says to her friends, "Unfortunately, I have no knowledge of my dwarven friends. I leave these to you."
She notches an arrow, but keeps it pointed at the ground, just in case.

Still the duergar, looks like they move forward one tile each time they ask, still waiting for a decisive answer.
