"Please Fjorgin, wait for a second!" , Thea yells through the noises of the upcoming fight. "He is surprisingly talkative for a fiend, don't you think? Let us at least try to reason with him. It might be that our motivations are not that different. Who are you, stranger, and why do you seek what was hidden beneath this temple?"
"My name is Ekmong, a pleasure to make you acquaintance, lovely lady. I simply seek to put this... cube... to better use than sitting here, forgotten within some temple. Its holy light surely could benefit many."

"Ekmong... yeah right. More like... Fiendmong." Fjorgin seems unreasonably pleased with this atrocious wordplay.

In response to Thea, Ekmong says "Probably the same way as you... I admit I'm not sure what use that would be, honestly, but a virtuous and holy one, surely."
Turning to Fjorgin "HAHAHAHA! A man and his witty wordplay. You must entertain us further at your regular performing stage, devout armored bard. Shall we go there now?"
"I dont know why, but i somewhat doubt that...on the other hand, if we are both working for the same employer, why dont we just deliver that thing together?A strength in numbers surely wouldnt be too bad for leaving this place." Thea smirks a little.
Liavyre puts her arrow back into her quiver and is not quite sure what to make of the new person they encountered, but if her companions are willing to talk then she is too. She doesn't believe every word said, but knows they can surely use some help.
"Either way, we stand a better chance of getting out of here in one piece if we work together. My name in the common tongue is Liavyre. Hunter of fiends."
OOC: Is Pip still with us or did we leave him upstairs back at the temple? Liavyre would ask him if he knew of other individuals being hired.

"I was under the impression.... never mind," Ekmong says, thinking better of it. "If that is the best chance I have of getting out of here, I supposed we could aid each other on our way. But whatever this is, I'm keeping a hold of it until we are out."
Ekmong collects the container from the centre of the room and walks towards the exit.
When Fjorgin raises the chalice up, there is a burst of sunlight energy from it as it emits a blade of sunlight, around the length of a longsword. The chalice seems to reform slightly, becoming what appears to be a golden hilt of a weapon, with the blade of light feeling weightless in his grasp.
(Pip was left outside to keep an eye out on things, also you could only bring a max of six people in at once.)
P.S. Also back from my holiday now. Will probably be posting slightly infrequently for the first couple of days but will try and get back to normal service this week.
Thea will follow the new one outside. Remembering the chapels holy wards, she is somewhat terrified to see if taking the item had an effect on the area.
The silver container is a little bulky, so requires both hands to carry (no wielded weapons, shields, or somatic components while carrying it) as the group heads back upstairs towards the entrance to the chapel. As the group heads into the main room of prayer, they can feel that the warding that would repel the "unfaithful" is waning. It is possible that the artefact in question was a focus to what repelled those whom were not paladins/clerics or one of the five gods.
“Things look diffferent... this temple looks so empty. I was expecting more security. Not that I’m complaining.”Ekmong says, struggling with the silver container.
While the chapel may be devoid of worshippers right now, there are plenty of religious items made from gold, silver, and other precious materials neatly organised around the room.

"Security? How did you even get down there in the first place, if it wasnt through this chapel? But i feared this would be the case. Taking the item has somehow rid this place of the holy aura it was protected by...which means that all the fiends around the area can finally smash it to pieces." Thea turns to Fjorgin. "I am not saying this out of avarice, but i believe we should try to grab as many of these artefacts as we can and then make a run for it. Theres no other way of saving them. Remember how many fiends Liavyre counted in this area." With that, her eyes begin to scan the area.
Ekmong moves ahead of the rest of the group to the open double doors. As he looks outside he can see a beautiful wood grove with lush green grass and wildflowers sewn around the area. It appears to be a natural paradise, with some birds chirping nearby and feels sickeningly sweet.
However, just beyond the treeline, it appears to become horribly desolate. The trees become charred remains for a forest. The skies above them are a murky grey colour, with storm clouds up ahead. It looks like you are in a last vestige of peace before a dreadful wasteland.
Liavyre looks around the room and can see that some of these items would have great monetary value, but also have religious value to the church in Allhaven. It is possible that bringing back some of these to The Luminary would grant a bonus reward. There are some golden collection plates that could be used to place some of the smaller reliquaries in, and people have packs to fill as well if they so wish.
Fjorgin is unhappy with the decision, but agrees nonetheless. "Alright, but only take what the church in Allhaven can use." He himself carefully picks up a couple objects of particular religious significance.

Ekmong steps outside nonchalantly. The harmony of the picturesque scenery is a bit sickening, but nothing too different from what he expected. It takes him a couple of seconds to notice the contrast between his immediate surroundings and what lies beyond the treeline... "What... What is all of that? What happened here?" His face drops in complete disbelief.
(OOC: How sturdy is the silver container? Could Ekmong stand on it? Also, is it obvious how one would go about opening it, like say, a cardboard box?)

Ekmong is enticed by all the treasure here, but he knows to prioritize. He won’t let go of the silver container.
(Are we outside, or will we soon be? If so, could I get a description of what the landscape looks like?)

The box feels very sturdy, so could potentially be used as a foot stool.
As Eckmong says that, he notes off by one of the trees is a halfling, who seems to notice him at the same time.
"D-d-demon!" Pip calls out, the others can hear him as he stumbles to grab his bow off of his pack.
