Beren braces himself for the upcoming fight, eyes searching for his target as the light behind the mask flares and his great sword bursts into radiance as he crashes through the doors.
You all have a free round due to surprise. The only visible 'enemy' is Wachter, and for Jack, the chef and two kitchen aides. We will be going with theatre of the mind for this.
This map is only to give you your bearings.
Please post your surprise round actions, as well as your 'first' round actions (with some guesswork such as 'if X is killed/knocked out')
Edit: Jack is kitty corner to both Beren and Wachter in the kitchen on the 'right' just past the door.
With the light pulsing violently inside him, Beren somehow manages to muster the strength to kick down the door to the manor, crashing through with sword in hand and the light behind the mask blazing. It's finally time to take some of his anger out on something.... or someone.
His eyes lock onto Wacther as she pauses in her ascent up the stairs, and he clenches his fist around his now glowing sword. "Wachter," he growls, rushing forward like a mad bull. Part of him wants to cut her down where she stands. After all, he's aware that she is a magic user. He doesn't know the extent of her power, but just knowing the atrocities she's committed and plans to commit is enough to urge him forward. The power within him screams to put an end to her and her wickedness. However, in the back of his mind he is aware that Olamoira might not be too keen on the idea of simply destroying this woman on the spot. What will they do though? Arrest her? That seems a little foolish, considering she has money and Strahd backing her... and she's managed to bail her sons out of prison as well.
As he approaches her, he grits his teeth, wanting to at least cripple her... and maybe start her on fire with searing smite to 'burn the witch', but he thinks better of it. Instead, he moves to grapple her, lunging towards her and up the stairs in an attempt to knock her to the ground. This... feels wrong somehow. He'd much rather just engage in combat without thinking of taking prisoners... the way he usually does when on a mission like this. He growls, his anger flaring up again as he says, "Servant of evil, we have come to bring justice for what you have done."
Beren charges forward through the second door, but in his fury, he tunnel visions, forgetting that the foyer has a dip where entering from the front puts you an inch or two down, and entering the main hall through the second door forces you to step up. His foot snags on that as he attempts to lift it to take that final step towards Wachter, only to see the floor rushing at his face.
Beren has knocked himself prone.
He may still get up as his 'first action' of the 'first round' as Wachter is still surprised.. but now for other reasons.
As Beren's blazing form goes sprawling, from behind and over the top of him, as if not missing a beat, flies a black face robed in white like a ghost, pointed straight towards Lady Wachter. "Surrender, and return what you have stolen, or face the wrath of the Holy Light!" With one hand she pulls a set of iron manacles free from her bag, making it clear that her intent is an arrest, and not a blow to harm, while she attempts to do the same as Beren did, and grapple Wachter where she stands.

Nivi quietly, yet as quickly as stealth would allow... moved towards the southernmost door on the opposite side of the hallway, moving mostly so that Wachter wouldn't see her at the very least... trying two keys before finding one that worked... opening the door to what appeared to be a master bedroom. Across from the door, a fire sputters and struggles for life in the hearth, above which hangs a framed family portrait: a noble father and mother, their two young sons, and a baby daughter in the father’s arms. The sons are smiling in a way that suggests mischief. The parents look like uncrowned royalty.
Wood paneling covers the walls of the room. A closet and a framed mirror flank a curtained window to the south. To the north, a wide, canopied bed lies pinned between matching end tables with oil lamps. Stretched out on one side of the bed is a man dressed in black, his eyes each covered with a copper piece. He bears a striking resemblance to the father in the painting.
Seeing the Baron (?) Wachter lying on the bed, dressed in black with copper pieces on his eyes, Nivi immediately tries to assess the man's condition, rapier in hand and owl familiar on her shoulder. Is the man alive? Dead? Undead? With fiends and servants of Strahd everywhere, she does not rightly know.
Her inspection of the man's form is disturbed by what sounds like Beren and Olamoira making an entrance through the front door with all the subtlety of a couple ogres. Despite herself, she winces and shakes her head.
Full frontal assault's the plan? Maybe tell me next time, yeah Sunshine and Prophet? Already told you I'd go with whatever the crew voted for. The bloody world am I doing sneaking around up hear getting stung by fiends looking for the Bones if you were going to just bust in?
It distracts from her and Ash's inspection of the... sleeping man? Corpse? Undead creature? Nivi feels she must know before she can turn her back on him/it.
Nivi'sPerception: 9 (2 on d20) Ash'sPerception: 13 (10 on d20 with advantage from Keen Hearing and Sight). Nivi'sInvestigation: 4 (2 on d20)
No matter how Nivi looks at the man, she just cant get a solid enough read on him. Passively at-least, she hears no breathing or movement from him in the slightest. Whether alive, dead, or undead though, Nivi cannot tell.

'Well those two seem to have things well enough in hand, don't they?' Thought Jack with an inward smile. 'Such a shame I yet cannot lend them assistance, but-' HIs gaze that point drifts around the room once more, and then soon enough he's slinking away thinking, 'Best not waste such a lovely distraction~ Though I do hope they were of a mind to send for the Baron's assistance, or else things might soon get a touch dicey I'd wager'
By the time the last thought completes itself, Jack had -- at least ideally -- finds his way to the northern door beside the water basin, and trying his best make his way past it, and into the adjoining. His preferred method of course being to try and bodily push it open if it appeared to be an easy swing door. But if not, he'd fall upon the liquid cat trip and slip under it if such was even possible. Either way, if he's able to get through to the otherside, then he'll scan the immediate area and consider his next move...
(OOC: DOn't know if another stealth check is needed, but gonna roll that as well.)

As Beren falls flat on his face, all he can feel in the moment is anger. Perhaps he's a bit embarrassed too, but it's been so long since he's experienced that he just channels the emotion into more rage. Growling, he pushes himself off the floor as Olamoira leaps towards Watcher. He grits his teeth as the drow says 'return what' you've stolen' having hoped that they not give that away quite yet. Then again, he hadn't voiced that concern so he can't really blame her.
Quickly moving forward, trying not to dwell on his blunder, he reaches for the manacles that Olamoira had pulled out. Perhaps since she is busy restraining Wachter he can get the manacles on her.

S1 & 2 had heard the loud thud from the front door and had been briefly caught off guard like deer in the headlights but each of them grabbed a knife from the table where they had been preparing the food as they moved out, as they had no idea what was going on just yet. The pair burst out of the doors into the crowded walkway, one of them crying out My lady! seeing her being held down by a glowing man and a dark lady. The knife in their hand shifting positions as they rush for Moira who is closer, stabbing out at her - their blade turns a sulfurous green
The second one cannot fit into the now crowded hallway, they weave the signs of a cantrip in the air, though they know they'll have trouble hitting with their ally in the way... casting firebolt at Beren.
Firebolt at Dis @ Beren: Attack: 7 Damage: 6
The Chef moves around having heard the prior commotion but see's no way to help anyone, but he grabs two cleavers from his work area... moving in close but unable to do more as the doorway and hallway are crowded. Footsteps can be heard elsewhere but no one else can be seen just yet.
