You’ve been traveling along the High Road for days. As evening approaches, you spot a wooden signpost next to a trail that heads north into the hills. Nailed to the post are three arrow-shaped signs. The two marked “Waterdeep” and “Daggerford” follow the High Road but point in opposite directions. The third, marked “Nightstone,” beckons you to follow the trail. If memory serves, Nightstone is roughly ten miles up the trail.
After following the trail for ten miles, you hear the ringing of a bell. The sound grows louder as Nightstone comes into view. A river flows around the settlement, forming a moat. The village itself is contained within a wooden palisade, beyond which you see a windmill, a tall steeple, and the high-pitched rooftops of several other buildings. Apart from the ringing of the bell, you detect no other activity in the village. The trail ends before a lowered drawbridge that spans the moat. Beyond the drawbridge, two stone watchtowers flank an open gap in the palisade.
South of the village and surrounded by the river moat is a cone-shaped, flat-topped hill on which stands a stone keep enclosed by a wooden wall. The keep, which overlooks the village, has partially collapsed. A wooden bridge that once connected the keep to the village has also partially collapsed.
You see no guards, and walk across the drawbridge and see no people. But then you see 2 goblins they look at you and rush forward to attack you.
Initiative for Fonzy & Sox is 3 & 18 (in game log)
’Sox’ (Isoxis) if he acts first will move between Fonzy and the goblins ready his club & assume a defensive posture. Action dodge
Fonzy if he acts last and we have not been hit, will move to the nearest goblin readying his spear with both hands and attack. He will calmly say in giant, “You are about to have a very bad day!”
his attack and damage rolls are 14 & 9 (also in the game log)

The sword wielding goblin falls, the archer goblin losses an arrow at Fonzy now that he is the closer, Attack: 21 Damage: 3 she then turns and starts to run away, tunring down an alley.
You are able to easily move to the building, the door is still somewhat up but its not really doing its job, as you look around the 1 room house you see 3 beds, that have been torn apart along with anything that could go for storage. There is a rag doll laying on the floor head cut off, what food was in the home is now kick all over the floor and has had bites taken out of it. But it is empty and you are able to get in to lick your wounds.

Sox casts goodberry and hands them to Fonzy. “Your too good friend, here you keep one we may not get a chance to stop if this whole place has been overrun. We both need the nourishment filthy goblins.” Fonzy says as he eats his handful. Sox gets a look on his face, being a person of few words, Fonzy stops to listen.
”The ancestors of our blood, giants & dragons have as much or more blood in their past as these goblinoids do.”
Respecting Sox as much as possible Fonzy holds back his biting retorts. Instead looking for signs of blood or other then goblin destruction here.
Sox lays the three bits in a row on a window pane, “Earth sky and sea, I need a rest want some tea?”
Fonzy a little razzled strings his longbow lays out some arrows and looks out the windows and door openings listening and watching for any more goblins. “You sure have a sense of timing. I’ll watch you go ahead and take a little rest... I’ll let you know if anything comes snooping around.”
”I suspect bigger trouble then those buggers who rushed us. You seen the structural damage, no guards. But the bell was rung? Odd unless a small resistance is surrounded by nasty creatures.”

“If your rested up let’s head over an check out that bell.” Fonzy gathers his arrows readies one on the bow, goes ahead of Sox heading out. Sox follows about 30’ behind.
The short rest is uneventfull. You start to move to the temple that the bell is ringing from. It has a slender steeple and stained glass windows that you can not tell what they are from the out side. The door is wide open.

You do not find any blood, almost as if the family was not home when the goblins got to the house. You do manage to find 3 copper pieces.
