"Cheers!" Fadi says before taking a good sip of ale. After Kalhiri finishes her interrogation with the waiter, he'll ask "Who's the bald man over there? Funny seeing someone drinking water in a place like this"
The waitress seems happy to see a friendly face. "They live in Beliard, it's the last place the delegation was seen, I haven't left the town in years, I don't know much about the valley, a certainly not a monastery." She trails off, lost deep in thought, "Oh! That's Brother Eardon, he's a priest of Lathander, he'll bee staying here for a tenday. You can talk to him if you want, he loves meeting people."
At the mention of the delegation, Garth's ears price up. "Tell me about this delegation: Where were they from? Were they all of one race? Anything you remember would be appreciated." Of the coins remaining on the bar, he hands her a silver. "For your trouble," he says.
(( @DM: let me know if a silver is an insulting memory-jogger; if so, he'd fetch something more appropriate from the puch around his neck ))
"They started from Mirabar, a whole lot of important people, generals, priests, politicians, the like" she says "A lot of humans and dwarves, I presume, and traveled down the Sword Coast. They stopped at a bunch of cities, you know, like the big ones" she continues, "After they left Waterdeep, they made it to Beliard, word started to spread they would travel to Summit Hall, then onward to Womford." She shrugged, "Then they disappeared. No one ever saw any of them again. If that cloak belongs to them, it would be the first anyone's seen of them in a few tendays.
"I think we should travel to Beliard and continue our investigation there," Kalhirisays after she chugged the rest of her ale. "If we follow their footsteps for long enough, we should be able to figure out what happened to them, if only because the same will happen to us." Kalhiri turns to Fadi, "Still want to talk to the priest before we leave?"
"Well, they got to Beliard, but disappeared on their way to Summit Hall. Which is the way we took last time, but we never got that far. If we're looking to get to the same trouble they got, we should push towards Summit Hall. However, we may find more information in Beliard, including people able to recognize the belongings we found...." Fadi takes a sip of the ale followed by a long sigh. "I'm not sure which of those options is more useful."
"About the priest... well, he got me curious. But I'm not sure what I'd have to discuss with him. I'm not very attached to the gods, but maybe just because I haven't been presented to them, so to speak".
Garth nods in thanks to the barkeep then, when noone else seems interested in the priest, he walks over with mug of ale. "Brother Eardon? May I sit?"
((Assuming the priest agrees))
Garth settles slowly into a seat opposite and has a long swig from his mug, then wipes his mouth with the back of his sleeve. "We're not from around these parts, and you look like a traveller yourself. We're looking to head to Beliard next. Do you have any advice for travellers heading that way? There seems to be a lot of unfriendly people on the roads."
Kalhiri puts his hand on PeeWee’s shoulder, saying, “We’ve all ran blind, don’t fault yourself.“And continues trying to sheer him up, “Look at the bright side, might be that we never had crossed paths with these rich bugbear bastards and that road is much safer now. I’m sure someone appreciates that. Let’s have a drink on that!”
Eardon moth doesn't move, but his eyes smile. "Well met fellow travelers. The only advice I have is that patience is a virtue. Travel slowly, make sure you know where you are going and what lurks of the beaten path. May I ask however, where are you heading to and what purpose do you have there?
Garth thinks for a moment, "Beliard, I believe, then on to Summit Hall. We are seeking a delegation that apparently went missing, though we have scan information on their purpose. I was just told 'go here, look for some missing muckety-mucks.' So here I am." He takes a swig of his ale, "No sign of any muckety-mucks tho."
Garth grunts and shakes his head, "We don't know what the bodies were. They'd been attacked." He goes on to describe the clothing and where they were. "Does that sound like the delegation to you? Can you describe this delegation?"
(( @DM: were we we on the road from Beliard to Summit Hall ? Anywhere near it? ))
(Sorry everyone for the slow posting, just have a lot of stuff higher up on the to-do list.)
Eardon grimaces, "Yes a few of those sound like people i saw. But I think I would have remembered seeing someone in feathers or stone armor."
The adventuring party traveled over Larch Path, a somewhat rundown path leading over the Sumber Hills and over the Dessarin River until you got to Summit Hall. There is another path leading North of Summit Hall named the Dassarin Road, which would lead to Beliard
Garth nods, "Yeah. Doesn't sound like our lot then. Anything else you can recall might help in the future." He listens to and does his best to remember anything else that the priest tells him about the delegation before shaking his head. "Little wonder they disappeared. We were attacked by flying knights and then given a distinctly frosty welcome by another ... faction."
He does his best to describe the two groups, "Sound familiar?" he asks.
"Cheers!" Fadi says before taking a good sip of ale. After Kalhiri finishes her interrogation with the waiter, he'll ask "Who's the bald man over there? Funny seeing someone drinking water in a place like this"

Pyre-Winder seems slightly confused, " I'm getting old....seems my navigation was way off...."

(A silver is about a dollar in today's currency)

Pyre-Winder scratched his head, still annoyed at himself for leading the others astray with his errant navigation.

Pyre-Winder nods, " Yes. Drinking...I'm sure I won't regret that."
( Spoiler: He did in fact regret it very much come morning.)
As soon as he notices Garth's intention, Fadi would follow him and sit with the priest, too.

Eardon's face shifts from jolly to concerned. "I saw the delegation two tendays ago in Beliard. I hope something awful hasn't happened to them."
Pyre-Winder was well into his cups but ventured, " We found a dwarfs grave who was almost certainly a member. And some other bodies as well."
Garth grunts and shakes his head, "We don't know what the bodies were. They'd been attacked." He goes on to describe the clothing and where they were. "Does that sound like the delegation to you? Can you describe this delegation?"

“Not to forget the monastery with stone statue guardians,” Kalhiri throws in.
