Book your trip today with Captain Squirm Circuit and get ready for a week-long cruise up the exotic Kor'koh'a River. Relax aboard Captain Circuit's ship, the well-equipped River Jewel, as you delve into the jungles, visit interesting indigenous jungle-folk, and feast your eyes on strange and wondrous sights! Culminating in a sunrise hike to the famous Sky Crystal waterfall!

So states the rather garishly painted sign adorning the entrance to the River Jewel's private slip on the docks of the city of Gloam. The city is known as the furthest upstream on the Kor'koh'a River, civilization not daring to push deeper into the untamed Kor'koh'a jungle... yet. Situated as it is on the edge of the "cultured empire", the city is an odd mix of laborers spending their days harvesting the bounties of the jungle and sending the goods downstream, and well-to-do tourists wanting to catch a glimpse of the untamed.
You lot have started your day scrubbing the decks of the River Jewel as she rests in her slip, and otherwise preparing the craft for departure. Captain Circuit, a diminutive yet highly intelligent old gnome, has informed you that he has signed on a number of tourists and that the River Jewel shall be expedition-ready this morning, with all hands on deck. The wooden ship is a well-weathered and adventure-proven vessel, sporting a boxy shape about 45 feet long and 25 feet wide, with a generous hull. The deck is flat, railed all around and dominated by a large covered dining area, with stairs at bow and stern that lead belowdecks. The two sets of stairs are connected belowdecks by a straight hall running the length of the ship, with four 10x10 rooms on each side of the hall. The ship's method of locomotion is a secret, and when asked, Captain Circuit is fond of replying, "It's part of the mystique that makes the tour more fun!"
Captain Circuit has further made it clear to you deck hands that your primary objective will be to keep the tourists safe and happy. This will lead to bigger tips. Those that cannot adequately accommodate the guests during the expedition may find that they do not have a job any more once the ship returns to Gloam.
~ ~ ~
Here comes the captain now, with a group of tourists in tow. He invites them onto the docks and points the way to the ship as you lot put the finishing touches on your chores. As a gnome, Captain Circuit is small but sprightly, and he dashes aboard the ship to welcome on the tourists. As part of your training, you know to stand at attention as the tourists board and introduce yourselves. Customer service is an important part of the tour.
First to board the River Jewel after the Captain are two humans, man and woman, clearly a romantic couple. They are arm-in-arm, their mood is cheerful bordering on giddy, and they can hardly pay attention to anything around them as they are continually gazing at each other and smiling foolishly. "Hello there," says the man, "I'm Chester, and this is my bride, Kress. We've just been married and this trip shall be our honeymoon!"
How shall you introduce yourselves?
Could Osfire enter with the captain? (Osfire is his bodyguard)
"Aye, hello Chester! Hello Kress! Congratulations on your, um, marriage," *mutters: "I think"*, "and welcome aboard the River Jewel!"
Looks if Osfire does enter with the captain, Morgran goes to his side and asks quietly: ""What's a marriage? And, also, why are they so happy about it? Oh, and also a 'honeymoon'? Can you eat it?"
OOC: Morgran is still relatively new to civilization. He was still with the pack 3 years ago.
Edit: Just to clarify, Morgran is not very smart, but he also doesn't fill the ale loving and eating loving kind of barbarian. He's just asking about the honeymoon because he's never heard of it, and is only asking about if it can be eaten because it sounds like it could be and it's a wild guess.

"Welcome on board! Have a nice trip!" It croaks from a mechanical parrot on Burt's shoulder accompanied by a welcoming gesture by Burt. "Please, come on board!" he says and invites the couple on board. "This is Rusty and I'm Burt, an engineer, " he slightly overplays his office, "and I will make sure that your ride on this boat will be as smooth as silken honey and as memorable as a golden full moon." Rusty croaks, "Honey - Moon."

Sorry, I'm beginning to enter a vacation period and while I will try to check-in at least daily, I cannot promise that I will always be able to do so. From September 1, I should be back to normal.
The introductions continue as the next tourist wanders aboard, another gnome, this one appearing to be young but reticent. He holds a large bug-catcher's net over one shoulder.
"My name is Renn Crumbleroot," he announces to no one in particular, rather failing to meet anyone's eye, but not giving an impression of shyness so much as curiosity more directed to objects and his environment instead of the people in it.

Getting a nudge from the captain, signaling Osfire to be more welcoming, Osfire says in a monotone voice "Welcome aboard the River Jewl, sir."
Parth scrutinizes Renn the gnome and sees that he’s dressed for an expedition, sturdy traveling clothes with many pockets, a belt laden with small tools which include a trowel, hammer, spike, compass, and a field journal. His fingers are ink-stained as though he has already done much writing today.
Meanwhile the final group of tourists prepares to board, and quite a bustle it is turning out to be. A family of halflings, the ma and pa with SIX little children, all inquisitive and unmistakeable mischievous-appearing girls.
“Hallo, I’m Dewey Thistlewisp, and this here’s my wife Dina, and our six kids. Looks sharp now children, it’s introductions! First is Agatha, then Bertha, next Connie, and oh dear where has Druina got to, ah there she is, then comes Elspeth, and last but not least is Fiona! Quite the little troop, I know, but we’re here on vacation, a little time away from the crops, and we want the kiddos to see something of the world.”

Morgran looks at the halflings, and snorts as he realizes that they're even shorter than HIM.

With another nudge by the captain, Osfire says in the same voice, "Welcome to the River Jewel. It is nice to meet you. My name is Osfire. Bodyguard to the Captain here."
Gil began quietly hyperventilating as the implications of that many children running around onboard and the amount of dangerous situations they could get in, profuse sweat broke out on his forehead as he used his hat to wipe down his face.
The halfling kids are already running around the deck, examining everything, heading belowdecks, the parents Dewey and Dina barking out instructions to them that don't appear to be well heeded. Renn the lone gnome wanders about seemingly at random. The captain has you bring aboard the tourists' luggage and show them to their rooms belowdecks: 1 for Chester and Kress, 1 for Renn, 1 for Dewey and Dina, and 1 for the 6 kids. The other 4 rooms are occupied by the captain and the rest of you.
Once everything is brought on board, it's time to disembark. The River Jewel is untied from her moorings while the captain heads to his cabin. A short time later he emerges back onto the deck, and the boat lurches into motion seemingly of its own accord. The tourists all remark on the boat's ability to head upstream and soon enough they're taking in the sights of the jungle as you leave Gloam behind you.
The Kor'koh'a River is wide, relatively shallow, with a sluggish current. It features many branchings and tributaries which break away from the main artery and rejoin later, or not. It would be easy for the inexperienced to quickly get lost in the undulating maze of water. The jungle presses up on the banks of the river like living solid walls of foliage. Many sounds emanate from the jungle, animal chirps and cries and bellows and calls of all kinds. The tourists are enamored by it all.
Captain Circuit spends a lot of time on the deck, taking opportunities to point out little sights here and there and tell stories to the tourists, putting them all at ease. You are expected to do the same, per instructions given to you during your training. Now's your chance to rub shoulders with the tourists and get to know them a little better, if you wish. The first excursion is planned for later in the afternoon, a beautiful meadow chock full of exotic flowers in a secluded little spot that the captain knows about.
Morgran sighs as he walks around, shaking hands. He peers into the jungle almost... longingly, as if he wishes to enter. Then, he snaps himself back to reality as he quickly walks over to Barth and asks, "What's a marriage? I'm actually really curious."

(don't feel pressured to make multiple introductions, we just need 1 intro minimum per PC and tourist)
Gil continues his scrubbing happy to let the others take the lead in being sociable.
He nods in greeting to the gnome guest, he took his hat off mashing it in his hands to cover his nervousness, " Pleased to meet you, Sir."
" Anything you need, just ask. We'll look after you."
Morgran eyes the line suspiciously, searching for any kind of contraband.
