Burt snaps back to Renn, “You certainly knew that leaving the perimeter was not part of the tour and so is ignoring the captain’s orders. You were suppose to stay on the flower field and close to the ship and not venture into the wild forcing us to follow you and risk our lives. This time you were lucky.” Then, he gestures to the cadaver and addresses the group, “do you really want to leave it here? Together, I believe, we could take it back to the s boat. Might be we can turn some parts into trophies and souvenirs. Maybe some of it could be sold. It just seems a shame to leave it here to rot.”

Sorry, I'm beginning to enter a vacation period and while I will try to check-in at least daily, I cannot promise that I will always be able to do so. From September 1, I should be back to normal.
Burt looks surprised to Morgran, „Yes that was me — You’re right. That’s a mighty good idea. Why, thank you.“
He goes on to tries to communicate with the captain, „Captain, Burt here. We found the owlbear and the guest just in time. Unfortunately, we had to put it to rest. It was about to catch the guest and assaulted us when it noticed us. We’re about to return with Mr. Crumbleroot safe and hopefully a bit sorry. Though I wouldn’t bet on the latter. Well, the question is, should we bring the dead owlbear along? We could make souvenirs from its feathers or such.“ Before waiting for an answer, he sends another message, „I should mention that I kind of reprimanded Mr. Crumbleroot for harvesting its feathers moments after we saved him from certain death without as much as saying thank you. I, er, claimed there’d be a price he would have to pay if he wants to buy souvenirs. He might be consulting you about that.“

"I just did, Parth. We're waiting for the response," Burt answers and notes, "Good thinking with the ice."

(message has a range of 120 feet, so the captain can't hear you, I'd estimate you're a couple hundred feet away from the meadow, and with the twists and turns of this craggy landscape it's also out of sight)
„I don’t think we’re in range,“ Burt announced after having waited a few minutes. „The captain hasn’t replied yet. Can we take the owlbear with us? I’ll try to establish communication with the captain on the way.“

Renn skitters about the felled beast, examining it, eyes roving everywhere. “I’ve never been so up close to such a magnificent creature, what an opportunity. Do you suppose the meat is good to eat? If we field dressed it we could carry back as much meat as we could and that would be good enough.” More quietly to himself he adds “and maybe I could get its gallbladder…”
Gil held Renn gently but firmly by the upper arm and began walking him back to the ship with haste, " I'll say again that looks to be a wee babbie......you probably shouldn't be caught at the scene of the murder when its parents come looking for it."
Gil had no real idea if the creature was alone or not....but it was certainly a damn lot smaller than any owlbear he'd heard of in bar rooms, ships and lodging houses throughout his life.
"I don't know, I can't carry much myself. If it isn't possible to transport it, we are left with no choices." Burt helps Parth to sever the head, "I think you have it right, let's take at least some part of it."

You successfully return to the meadow. Things seem to be winding down there. The halfling kids are just starting to get a bit restless, the wonder of the flower field wearing off a bit. Kress seems happy and content. Captain Circuit is occupied with the halfling kids. He sees your return and marches up.
“Now, Mr Crumbleroot,” he says politely, “I’ll remind you not to wander off on your own. The jungle can be a dangerous place.”
“And now,” he announces to everyone, “time to get back on the boat and continue our journey upstream. We want to stay on schedule if we are to make the sunrise hike to the waterfall!”

Anyone can easily notice Parth taking a few owlbear feathers for himself.
Renn’s bugcatcher net is now in two pieces, the long shaft snapped in half, and the netting has several rents in it now.
Gil is escorting Renn back to the meadow. The others can wrap up what they want to obtain from the owlbear and head back as well (or not?)
Burt is helping Parth to head back with the head.
