You remember hearing of a man who suffered an attack in his fields. He was from the Levanrest family, a man with a large field. You remember he is very respected.
(OCC: when I posted the seating location above, I set the font family to Courier New, which is a fixed-width font. It's difficult to line up multiple lines of text on this forum unless you use one of the fixed-width fonts.)
So, I keep losing players. I keep getting more, than losing them. A lot of time is spent waiting for players to post, and so on. This will be an even bigger problem if we get farther into the campaign and are still waiting for people to join, and leave, and join again. Even if we get dedicated players they sometimes leave for their own reasons. For reasons like this, I may have to cancel the campaign. Does anyone have thoughts?
I thunk the campaign can work... not great, but okay, with only two players. I'm really enjoying it, and I'd gladly accept a greater risk of character death to keep playing. As long as the three of us can commit to doing the campaign for the foreseeable future, the three of us should do the campaign.

Will everyone stop calling him "The Demogorgon"? It's his name, not a title!

(OOC: Well, we can't run your homebrew campaign without you, so it's ultimately up to you.
A DM's job is hard, but PbP brings some additional challenges. You also have to select the players and then try to keep the game moving. That may mean filling in some details and just dragging a character along so that their player can catch up when they get back online. Not an easy task.
For example, when Jet10 didn't follow up right away, I probably would have just started things going as soon as ZorgAlmighty and Aelas joined. They were both posting regularly when they joined. Once the campaign thread pauses, you've got to help generate some momentum for the campaign again.
A RPG is more fun if there's a cohesive party through the whole campaign, but from what I've seen, that's rare with PbP. Unless we've lost additional folks, I'd suggest getting started with Saralyn, Rain, Salchar, and Shinwa. You can introduce the half-elf later if Jet10 shows back up. Or add another character later once we get through the Onyx District encounters.
I'm still having fun with Rain and would like to see how he plays as he levels up. As I mentioned in another post, we've just made it through the intro encounters. I can imagine your setup developing in a bunch of different directions, and I'm interested to see where you take it.)

(OOC: Ah, yeah, KingOrc's post was unclear about who we lost. Even if it's just 87306 and me, I'm still on board.)
I'll just continue right now. As long as you guys are staying we can just go, I don't want to wait forever for the others. After all, nobody really has anything to do until I continue.
The Lizardfolk warrior turns and faces the king. "So," he says in a low and dry voice, "this is who you have chosen to save this kingdom? They look like they lack experience."
"Everyone looks like they lack experience to you," the guard across from him states in an annoyed tone. "They are the best we have."
The king raises up his goblet and smiles. "Well, let's begin, let's not get too feisty now."
"Shouldn't they leave now, if it is that important to you to 'save our kingdom'? Why spend so long on breakfast? Why not send them to the temple now? I could easily do that." The lizardfolk chugs a whole cup of ale in one go, takes a bite out of the wooden cup (what?), and flicks a gold coin toward the king as if to pay for the partially-eaten cup.
"We still need to gather supplies. Unfortunately, we are not as hardy as you - " *glances at cup* " - and we need some protection from the desert itself."

"Well, despite the impatience of the Great Scaly One, it will help to know what we are facing. The plan was for Sand to take us to the Onyx District to learn more from this noble, first. After that, we can return here, gather our supplies, and then head into the desert this evening when it is cooler."
"Hmm what a perculiar dynamic we seem to be former. Not a problem though. It appears as though the noble we're looking for is from the Levanrest family, a respectable sort and someone we should be able to find with ease." The fire Genasi unfolds his legs and stands up, adjusting his robes as needed. "Off we go then?"
"My name is Sands of the Summer, and you can call me Sand. I'm secretary of the King's hunting crew. I'm going to come with you to the Onyx District, along with a few others. That dwarf over there," he points to the red-bearded dwarf, "is coming with us, along with a couple of guards."
So, I'm just confirming that the group going to the Onyx District is
Sands of the Summer
Red-bearded dwarf
A couple of other guards from the castle
Rain
Saralyn
Salchar
Shinwa (if ZorgAlmighty is still with us)
Also, as previously stated, Rain is leaving his backpack and spear at the castle, but he is equipped with his other gear
(OOC: I'm not sure whether it matters, but here's where we currently are seated. The Xs are empty seats. Pick your spot.)

(OOC: Ah, thanks for that. Can't very well speak to both Sand and Rolan, so I'll continue with Sand)
Shinwa takes a seat next to Sand, and invites Salchar to join them.
