A fair haired elven women walks in to the room confidently
*I hope to design some backround to fit into the story, GTG*
(OOC: Hi, Ron. There has been a fair amount of meta chatter, but I gathered some of the more significant events if you don't want to have to read everything:
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The king stands up. "Ah yes, you came. We may begin, as long as Ghurk can come. Sand, would you walk over the quest?"
An older-looking tabaxi hunter with leather armor stands up. "My name is sand. I will come with you to the Onyx district. This part of town has a lot of crime and suspicious people, so watch out. Just follow me. When we enter, we are going to meet with [person from dice roll] to find out something, they told us they have info. We will have a chat with them. We need you there so you hear all the info. We could also buy equipment while we are there."
I'm going to assume that we're pressing pause here while we wait for Jet10 to catch up and build a character.
KingOrc, been 36 hours. No response from Dragonlouis even though he's posting on other threads.
Rain's last action was to take the longbow upstairs to his room and to check on Ghurk. It's kind of hard to proceed from there unless you want to move his character around like a puppet.
You may need to check with Dragonlouis to see whether he still plans to be part of the campaign. Maybe he's just here for the combat encounters?
If we lose Ghurk, I have a 1st-level Goliath barbarian that I could add to the party. Just throwing that out there in case we need to swap out one barbarian for another to keep the campaign moving forward.
And doesn't have as much time lately, so he dropped out of this one. Back to three again? This is starting to become a problem. Every time we make the party bigger it shrinks again.

(OOC: Yeah, this is my first PbP game ever, but looking at some old PbP threads, it looked like it's a common problem. Up to you how you want to handle it. Recruit more players and do a reset before the party heads to the Onyx District? Have the existing players play multiple characters? Try to run the party with 3 characters and add some sidekicks? Cancel the campaign and start over?
Ghurk hasn't been able to have a big impact, yet, so you could just swap him out for another Fighter / Monk / Barbarian and pretend that it was that character the whole time instead of Ghurk. You'd just need to decide which player & character to use. As I said, I could probably play a barbarian in addition to Rain, since there aren't a lot of complicated decisions to make with a barbarian class. But I don't know how the others feel about one player monopolizing melee in all combat encounters.)
Since it's so hard to get a large team that stays, I have a couple of ideas. We could each have a second character, although doing two at once could be a challenge for some. We could just keep the players we have now, and maybe the king sends some of his men to help you.
I could search the Forum for some dedicated players.
I am running a couple campaigns and some players who are only in one might be up for another I will post and if somebody is interested I can create a thread between you guys I will check my other campaigns now
(I'm afraid I don't really have any resources to offer, other than that I could play two characters as well. All my players in PbP games just don't respond. It's very annoying. Because of that, by the way, I'm thinking of starting another PbP. I'll PM you guys if I do, since you seem to be active and dedicated.)

(OOC: Maybe you should start a separate "meta" group DM for this campaign. That way, we could keep some of this discussion of party composition out of the main campaign thread.)
Rain is a pretty decent mix of stealth and front-line melee. Saralyn is a custom class called a spirit caller. Ghurk was a barbarian that gave us a good tank on the party's front line. If we're losing Ghurk, I think that we'd be looking to add 2 - 3 characters to the party who could help fill the following rolls:
high charisma "face"
healing magic
full spellcaster
tanky melee character (now that we've lost Ghurk)
So, for example, a paladin (charisma, melee, and face) and a wizard (spellcaster). Or maybe a sorcerer (spellcaster and face) and a heavily-armored cleric (melee and healing).
As I've said before, I have a couple of characters that I could play as a second character if that helps keep things moving. For example, if neither Jet10 nor the other new player want to play a melee character, we could cover that with my goliath barbarian.
Here are some other party analysis posts from when we were trying to add two more characters to Rain, Saralyn, and Ghurk:
The King looks around at the group. "As some of you may know, there is a strange storm brewing. It is a large smokey storm that comes and goes rapidly. And goblins have been attacking. We think a temple in the desert is the source. I have gathered you here, my Pearl Defenders, to help Pearl Village and stop this madness. So today we will go to the onyx district of town for information and meet with a noble who may know some things. Now, some people you should know. Rolan," A slender, white-haired man with blue robes stands, "Is my illusioner. There is also Sand," A jaguar-like Tabaxi stands, "who will come with you to the onyx district. The rest you will meet later, I guess. Rain and Saralyn can provide you with more info if needed."
(Hello all. Sorry to pollute the game thread with business talk, but KingOrc has accepted my offer to join the party. I don't know if the other new player/s have created characters yet, but I plan to join with a Fighter/Samurai, which should fill both the face and tank roles. Let me know if you prefer something else.)
Another figure is ushered into the hall by one of the king's servants. He bows deeply, his chain armor jangling slightly, and says:
"Your Majesty. Forgive my tardiness, I pray thee. I have heard thy summons, and would lend thee my strength, if it be thy will."
Rising from his bow, he stands erect and confident, though with an air of humility and deference. His dark hair is tied back into a topknot, revealing dark slanted eyes, high cheekbones and a thin beard. In some worlds, one of such exotic features might be described as 'oriental'. His clothes are of fine silk and he wears a curved sword at his hip and carries a long staff with a bladed end.

A half-elven woman with black hair and white robes tied with a red sash looks up at you as you do so. "Hello. I'm Saralyn."
I look questioningly at the king, seeing if he knows this person.
Will everyone stop calling him "The Demogorgon"? It's his name, not a title!
